Q:i need to ride my bike be cause i just tore it apart to paint it but all my bearings fell apart
Without bearings, you can't steer, if you can't steer, you won't be able to keep the bike upright.
Q:I have been told that the lower the rating the better and vice versa. I've finally had the brilliant idea to ask the question on the almost all knowing internet. Your advice would be appreciated and considered. thanks!
ABEC ratings are irrelevant to skateboarding. A higher number indicates better tolerance in the bearings. It does not take into consideration overall quality of the bearing, nor the ability to take side loading, which is common in skating. The rating is only useful for applications where the bearing spins in excess of 20,000 RPM. If you look, high-end bearings do not indicate ABEC ratings. It is just a marketing tactic.
Q:I want to get a Loaded Ceviche with Randal 150mm trucks and orangatang 4president 83a wheels. I was wondering if the upgrade from skates on haight abec 5 bearings to bones reds bearings is worth $10. Thanks.
yah duude you shood seriously get reds bearings i got reds bearings like 3 days a go and there deffently worth ten bucks even tho i got my for $20. oh yah and if u consider my answer and goes out to get them is that they will make no sound at first like they usually make. here is one way that i no how to get them in, ok 1. get a screw driver and a hammer, then put the rubbery handle part on the bearing thats in the wheel, oh yah push the bearing in the wheel alittle first. lol, ok then the metal part that is stickin up you hit that with the hammer then it shood go in fine, well ok there you how to put it in and get the bearings, well peace out homme g.
Q:Right now I'm riding on Element Skate Bearings and I tear them up real easily. I mostly ride street, so of course smaller wheels. What do you guys recommend?
Get okorder / (click the link and scroll down to the bottom where it says Reviews and click one) Good luck man, hope you find what your looking for.
Q:Took my car to the mechanic yesterdcay because it was occasionally making grinding noise when turning right they said its the bearings and i don't have the money to get it fixed til next wendesday. I have to drive to school on tuesday which is an hour from my house...will it be dangerous to take this trip before getting it fixed? The car is a 2003 dodge neon
If it's just grinding once in a while on turns and going straight down the road the bearings are quiet, you should be OK. Just don't keep driving it like that because the bad bearings can ruin the spindle or they can really let go and scare the shitt out of you. Not the safest thing to do so drive with caution and I would not be going over 50 mph.
Q:I have been checking with at least 3 different mechanic about ongoing problem in my Buick park avenue 2003.only one told me that I need to replace both front bearings and also asking me to replace tires(which I did and problem still exists) also right front tie rod..none of these other mechanic are sure what is the problem..Problem is this...Car seems pulling(no break problem) and wheels wobbling..making wide turns..what is could be?looks like all these mechanic don't want to deal with to fix my bearings..what you say?
You might have a bent rim/s, if you took a real hard curb shot some time this can happen. If you have bad bearings there will be a lot of shaking of the steering wheel at most speeds. Bent suspension members do not result in wheel wobble, of course a bent axle will. But bending the axle stub is a difficult thing to do. The wheel will bend first.
Q:I just bought new longboard bearings, but they arent as fast as my friends. I was wondering if there was anything i could do to my bearings to make them alot faster? They are new so its not like they are dirty.
Go to home depot or something and get some WD-40... is't a metal lubricant that works pretty well.
Q:I got a set of bones reds skateboard bearings about 5 months ago and i heard that theyre really fast. but they have been really slow ever since ive got them. today i squirted wd-40 inside the wheel over the bearings and span them for ages and they span for ages really fast. i heard wd-40 is bad for skateboard beasrings though? i only go to indoor skateparks with it so they dont get that dirty
Wd40 Skateboard Bearings
Q:i was just wondering which skateboard bearings where better. i have been skating ghetto bearings for about 4 years now and i think its about time for me to step it up. this is a question for the pros, which bearings are better Swiss Bones Labyrinth's, Swiss Bones Super Swiss 6, or the original Bones Swiss bearings? And is the difference between them big?
If you ask me, all of them are overpriced and over rated. If I were you, I would try out some Japanese Destructo Sendai bearings. I have been skating with them for 2-3 years and even skated into a pool with them and they havent rusted. They run super fast and smooth, even after skating into the pool with them. I have tried just about every Bones bearing and none of them are really worth the price except reds. The sendais are a lot better than anything I have ever tried. All of the bones are ok, but the only real perk is that you dont have to clean them. Try reds or sendais.
Q:How can i tell if my wheel bearings are bad? I replaced my Calipers on both sides and my pads. I can't do my rotors myself b/c it's a 97 honda and there pressed on. My rotors are in need of replacing but smooth and i don't believe them to be the cause of my grinding noise. The grinding noise is when i am driving and gets worse at higher speeds and tends to pulsate a bit. When i apply the brakes it doesn't get any worse and feels good under the foot? Could my bearings be gone? Thanks to all you techs out there I appreciate the help!
Yes the noise is the wheel bearings because wheel bearing get louder the faster you go. The pitch will get higher or lower when turning the wheel slightly left or right.. The pulsating you feel is the rotors.
