Q: I have been told that the lower the rating the better and vice versa. I've finally had the brilliant idea to ask the question on the almost all knowing internet. Your advice would be appreciated and considered. thanks!
i've got been using Black Panther Swiss bearings in a pair boards for some years. they have been sturdy and supply sturdy speed, adequate to do grinds interior the 9ft end of the pool. The ABEC score has little to do with speed. It merely pertains to tolerances in manufacture and use in extreme speed equipment. It has not something to do with the suitability of a bearing for skateboarding. it relatively is why maximum extreme-end bearings are actually not ABEC rated, as they are designed especially for skateboards.
Q: I have been watching tons of online videos on how to clean inline skate bearings, but none seem to be using the same bearings mine have. I have a pair of Rollerblade Activa 8.0 with SG9 bearings. It does not look like they can come apart the same way the others do to me. Any suggestions?
The shields are crimped on. They can't be serviced. You have to get new ones. Bones Reds are high quality serviceable bearings. Head over to a local skateboard shop and get a set. They are sold 8 bearings to a box. You will need 2 boxes if you have 8 wheels on your skates.
Q: hi, what skateboard bearings are the best pf these, and are there some things theres better. But what is the best bearings of these for street skating and whybones swissspitfire swisspig swissblack panther ceramicblack panther swisslucky swissmodus ceramicpig ceramicrush swissrush swiss black crypttensor street MOC 7 ABEC 9zero chris cole buzzsaw swisszero thomas screaming eagle
None on this list are the best, the bones swiss ceramic are the top bearings out there, they are swisses which fly anyway plus ceramic makes them twice as fast and easier to maintain, provides a very smooth ride, but basically any cermic bearing will make you fly but I would highly suggest the swiss ceramics from bones, if not then the black panther ceramics.
Q: I have a 96 ford ranger with manual lockouts ive seen people say u need whole assembly for 2000 and up but when I look for it I can find any that will fit mine
The 96' has regular taper bearings but it matters when getting the bearing you have to specify if your Ranger has the Dana35 or the Dana28 axle. NOTE: The 00' Ranger does have the Hub assembly style bearings.
Q: My car has recently started making extremely loud noises.. squeeking, squiling, grinding, and its all coming from the back of my car. This noise now continues while I drive, but at first it was just while I would press the brakes. Im trying to determine if this is my brakes going bad, or if it is my wheel bearing going bad. Anything would help thank you!
If you jack the car up you can listen closely to the wheel bearings, and also try to rock the wheel by grabbing it at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock position, there should be barely any play. If you can wiggle more than a 1/2-1 mm then its likely the rear bearings have failed. If the bearings appear OK then remove the tire and try to remover the drum If the vehicle has disc brakes the pads will be exposed, if the discs are scored. grooved and damaged you will notice this immediately The disc should be almost polished smooth, with the disc brake pads held against the discs by the calipers, there should be at least 1/4 inch (6mm) of pad material. If you have drum brakes once you have removed the drum (remove cotter pin from cage and remove nut) inspect the shoes and brake hardware found inside, attached to the backing plate.
Q: i was planning to buy a new bearing, but do they have different sizes? (sure answer pls......)
Lets see... For a good deck I'd check out Plan B, ZooYork, or Zero they're all 3 pretty good brands. For trucks u have either Silver or Independent, I think Silver is better but that's my opinion. For bearings I'd go with either Bones or FKD saw blade. For wheels Bones would be a good buy as for grip tape u can either check out mob or check out Torey Pudwill's new brand called Grizzly Grip but it just came out recently so it may be hard to find in stores!
Q: i heard people said it makes it stronger. but i dont know if they meant only to put the wheels inside to make the wheels stronger. because i dont want to break my bearings.thankz.
Well i find putting any skate part in the freezer doesnt work i shred thro wheels in like 2 months. But if you want to try dont put bearings in the freezer also. Goooooood wheels - ricta's last forever and if you want to make your bearing work well i even use cleaner for bike chains in my bearings that works amazingly well
Q: Title says it all
no it doesn't say it all. If you have what the industry calls precision specification bearings, they are garbage. I suspect that you have something else that has a brand name that may not be ABEC rated but they call precision. How hard would it have been to give the brand name and model of the bearings? There is really very little difference in bearings once you get to ABEC 1 and there is nothing in the spec that ABEC 7 rolls any better (the specs could cause them to be slower) or last longer. Most ABEC bearings are made by large industrial bearing makers and sold to various companies. Some of the larger companies that sell skate bearings (Bones, Zero Drag, Twin Cam) have created designs that are better for skating or boarding than the ABEC standards.
Q: Ok, so I've been longboarding for a while now and I've recently started doing more downhill stuff on my longboard and I have decided I would like to replace the bearings on my board from steel to ceramic. 1. Because ceramic apparently are much better and faster. 2. I have basically destroyed my steel bearings they are rusty and squeak. I know how to fix them, I've done it a few times and it works, but it's more for speed. I have a Krooked Zig Zagger board and 65mm Zip Zinger wheels. I want to know if you can replace the bearings without replacing the wheels aswell, because the wheels still have a lot of use in them?? Also, I want to join a longboarding crew or team in Adelaide, Australia, but I'm a girl so it's difficult. I know there is an all girls crew in the city, I'm all for ladies longboarding but after researching it I think they just cruise around not much hill bombing, whch is what I'm in to. If you're part of a longboarding crew, would you take a chick??Ohkays ta! xxx lt;3
hey! okorder /
Q: I heard using mineral spirits is a good way to clean bearings, but I also heard some can end up damaging them
Usually we do not clean them you simply pack new grease into them forcing the old crap out
