- Q: i bought some new bearings today, Bones Reds. the guy at the shop said that they were so fast they didn't need an abec. after riding i thought that my old bearings, the rush abec-7's, went faster. i just wanted to know which is faster
- probably bones reds. bones has been making bearings almost as long as skateboarding has been around. and all that abec measurement stuff is all bull poop they are just measuring how long and how fast a bearing will spin for on some metal pole they aren't measuring it under pressure and the conditions of when your actually riding so go with the bones
- Q: i want something thatl go fast
- I'll cover some basics with you about advanced longboarding. I'll first start by talking about trucks and bushings, then I'll move on to bearings. Longboarding can be divided into two sub-categories, that is downhill riding and free riding. Now each type of riding has different sets of parts which differ from each other to provide maximum performance for the style of riding. Downhill boards are usually at top performance with trucks that have a 42 degree base plate. You will sacrifice the maneuverability and carving ability of trucks with 50 degree base plates to sturdiness if you get 42's. However, you will be able to handle speed much better on 42's and the risk of 'speed-wobbles' will go down. Bushings are pretty difficult to choose. With all different hardnesses and shapes, it's hard to recommend anything that you will be satisfied with. Bearings are simple. Any bearings are basically the same but MAKE SURE you get completely sealed bearings. Ceramic bearings are pricey but supposedly improve performance. I recommend you look into Randall or Paris for trucks (180mm standard), Khiro for bushings (unnecessary), and Bones for bearings.
- Q: I learned that I need to have my wheel ball bearings replaced. What would happen to my car if I dont replace it?
- It could cause you to have an accident. Bad bearings can run a long time though, if you can live with the noise. Once you start feeling a vibration you should go ahead and replace them.
- Q: I am replacing the wheel bearings on the front axle of my 98 cherokee and I want to know if the Timkin brand wheel bearings for $150 each autozone will make a difference over the valucraft ones for $99 each. Is it worth the extra $50?
- timkin is a great brand. I am not sure if they make the valuecraft bearings or not, but with things like that you get what you pay for. If you keep them maintained you may not have to change them again. If you don't plan on driving it more than a few years or doing any serious wheeling, go with the valucraft otherwise I would go for the Timkin.
- Q: DOES IT???
- Yoyo's have bearings? Then they don't work like when I was growing up - how would a bearing unit grab the string to climb it.
- Q: like anything around the house or cheap
- Eh, boiling water should clean out the old grease. Soaking em in charcoal lighter fluid would work also the use a light and thin oil like cooking oil instead of grease with reassembly.
- Q: so how often should i? and what cream do u use? im planning on getting the lube at my local skate shop... do u think they wood have it or is it not a skate lube?i herd u can put them in gasoline overnight, does that work?im open to any and all suggestions

- Q: I am a street skater. And tell me what bearings are good other than swiss.
- My favorite trucks are krux. I've been skating for 3 years and I have had my krux for about 6 months and I've grinded the **** out of them and they work great. Don't buy cores I broke a pair in a day. Krux have a version of trucks with a kingpin that you tighten with an allen key so as to prevent it from catching on ledges. The best bearings I've had were bones swiss ceramics but they're expensive. for the price, go with bones redz.
- Q: I have a 2001 Nissan Maxima Se, when i jack tha car up (on the driver side) my wheel is loose, obvisouly with the lug nuts screwed all tha way in, i talked to a few people, but they sed it could be my Wheel Hub or my bearings, i don't know, i just don't wanna get robed blind, wat would be a reasonable amount of money + labor to fix either tha hubs or tha bearings on tha one side???
- Front or rear? The rear has hubs that are sealed for life now (except for RWD, AWD and 4WD). They do go out. On FWD (and 4WD) the front has bearings, and these also go bad. They are also sealed for life bearings, but these are serviced by pressing the old bearings out and pressing new ones in. There is the off chance that it is a loose nut on the axle by the way. Or a bad ball joint. But I am assuming that you know that it is the wheel moving and not the whole rear member.
- Q: f-250 changing front wheel bearings?
- Well, what's the problem? Do you need to know how to do it? How much it cost? What are wheel bearings? You have tapered bearings. When they go bad you change the inner and outer bearing plus wheel grease seals then get them repacked. Sometimes you can just have them tightened and that fixes it
