Q: I have these skateboard wheels with bearings that have been used for FOREVER, they have probably been in these wheels for more than two years. And this skateboard has been left out in the open all of the time, so the bearings are really really dirty but not too rusted so I am going to try to use them in some different wheels. I have tried to get them out with a screwdriver and using the axel on one of my trucks, but it is so stuck in there with dirt probably that it makes it really difficult to get out, even when I apply a lot of pressure. I don't think it is physically possible for me to get it out with just human force, or maybe it's just me, idk, I have tried and tried and I've already broken one nail trying to get these stupid bearings out and I just want an easier way. What other things can I try to get them out of the wheels? I think they are still usable, probably they just need cleaning.
If you are going to wash the bearings properally then try putting the wheel and bearing in boiling water to soften the wheel, then get a bolt with a head that fits over the bearing but inside the wheel and hit it with a hammer, WD-40 helps to loosten them too, ideally you would need a press.....but i dun think you've got that. when pressing the bearing try to put the pressure on the innner race (the inner circle bit) as not to warp them. if they have been out in the weather for too long they might be buggered, soak them in some petrol for a while, and exercise them (spin them round) a bit, blow some air through them if you can, then oil them up with a really thin oil, there is also other stuff you can use to clean them, there might even be proper cleaning solutions, but petrol works well, or even turps. wear some gloves but, cos it can sting ya hands and it's not good for you.Just persist with the bearing mate, try not to twist it side to side in the wheel, cos that could get it stuck. Hope that helps.
Q: A friend of mine had his Nissan repaired recently. He had the timing chain and water pump replaced. A week later, the car dies. He returns to the shop that fixed it. They say his ball bearings are pretty much gone and that he needs a new engine. When he asked what could have caused this, they say that somewhere along the line a previous shop put the wrong trans fluid in his car and that that is the cause of this whole thing. Is this possible?
LMAO
Q: when he moves the tire back and forth. Is this very serious to be replaced with new wheel bearings asap?
the sooner the better ... i had a guy come into my shop and left with two bad wheel bearings the left one completley came apart and the only thing holding the wheel on was the axle nut long story short this gentelmen runind his axel/ upper ball joint/tire/ and tire turning a 300 $ repair into 1700 so do it as soonass u can
Q: You have nine ball-bearings, all of the same size but one slightly heavier than the others, though not enough to be detected by holding them. You have some balance scales and are allowed to do only two weighing of any number of ball bearings. How do you find the heavy one?P.S. please answer this so I could get 5 extra points in my exam .lol thanks!!!
Weigh three ball bearings against another three ball bearings. If one side goes down then you know the heavy one is one of those three. If the scale balances then it is one of the ones you didn't weigh. Weight two of the three containing the heavy ball against each other. If one side goes down then it is the heavy one. If the scales balance then the heavy one is the one you didn't weigh.
Q: Building a longboard
Bearings are the same unless you have 10mm axles. You would know this when you get the trucks. They use a different bearing, but the wheels are the same. Skateboard parts are standardized.
Q: Wich 1s should i use and why?
Abec are cheap I think blind are better in every way smoother ride and there just great I think. 2 year skater
Q: I've been using just reds for a long time now and I think it's time to upgrade hah. Are bones swiss bearings much smoother and faster than just reds?
Heck yeah. Bones Swiss are, flat-out, the best bearings you can buy for skateboarding. That being said, they're also expensive and you have to take good care of them (clean and lubricate them regularly). I've got a couple boards set up currently and I've got Reds on one and they pretty much suck when compared to my other board which I've got the Bones Super Swiss Six (or something like that). I HIGHLY recommend them. They're MUCH faster than Reds, but not nearly as expensive as the full-blown Swiss or ceramics. Give 'em a try if you've got $30 laying around.
Q: Should i get better bearings and is it ok if your foot is a little turned when you kick the one on the board im regular and i weigh 236
Any bearings with an ABEC rating aren't worthwhile. Get a set of Bones Swiss or Reds. Bones have been around for a while and they definitely know how to make a quality product that the majority of pro skateboards use today. Bones lasts for a long time so get them if you can afford them.
Q: I have a CR80, when i sit on the bike somtimes i will hear a cracking noise. If i put the bike on a stand (with back wheel off the ground) I can move the swingarm up and down without the shock moving. So my final guess would be shot bearings?? So is this, Linkage, are swingarm bearings? Its a 2000 model and is changing these bearing hard, Im a beginner by the way. Thanks!
take the bike to the honda shop and let them fix it. you do not have knowledge or the tools to fix it. also do not ride the bike until you get it fixed.
Q: i was wondering if i could put abec7 bearings in a wave board. has anyone done that? let me know!
ABSOLUTELY! I've been ridin' The Wave for a couple of years now, and I def switched over to better bearings once I was ready. You def want to make sure that you have mastered ridin' the board before you make the switch. I'm pretty sure that Street Surfing is going to start making upgrades available, but until then, go for it. Just be ready for the faster speed. If you haven't checked out their website I'd give it a look, some cool vids/pics there, even some 'how to' vids if you're looking for some tricks to do ( THEWAVE.COM ). Hope that helps you out, the answer to your question is YES! Upgrading the bearings is something that anyone can do to their wave board, I would actually suggest it for more experienced riders. See ya on the Streets!!!
