- Q: What are some signs when a wheel bearing and/or ball joints are in need of replacement? For example, does the steering wheel shake a lot? What sort of noises do you hear?What happens if you don't repair/replace these parts over a long period of time?
- if at has previously been in an accident, body suspension mounts can crack loose. or could have move bent the body itself. cv joint is possible, but should have been easily caught by three different mechanics. a worn power steering sector, can cause popping noises when in a turn also. usually with worn sector problems, you will having a wondering front end that likes to dive from side to side for no reason.

- i cleaned my bearings yesterday and i used an air compressor to knock the dirt off then i spin my wheels as hard as a can and apply WD-40 while they spin, then i spin the wheel for bout 10-15 seconds so it sets in wipe of access then ride! ( do this for each bearing and or side)

- Of course it does. ALL wheels have bearings, no matter what make or model of vehicle you have. Even wheelbarrows need bearings in the wheel. The possible exceptions are the single ball type wheels that have a hollow sleeve in the centre as opposed to a roller or pin type bearing as is the norm. Hope this helps.
- Q: Both the same size rimes both bmx. But one rims bearing don't work good anymore. How can i put in new ones?
- First, the rims are the hoops that hold the tire. The spokes hold the hub to the rim, and the HUB is where the bearings go. There is no way to determine whether the bearings are bad or not unless the hub is torn apart... it may NOT be the bearings. Just go to a bike shop with the WHEEL and ask them to check it out. If it requires a rebuild it will cost less to have them do it than if you were to buy the proper grease, buy the proper bearings, and maybe get it wrong anyway. I can bet it just requires an adjustment.
- Q: We took our 1996 ford aerostar van into the mechanic the other day and he said it needs new wheel bearings on the front left tire and something like the axle assembly done, he said the housing was cracked right open on both sides and they need to be replaced and he said all up it would cost $1200, seems like alot of money, I know its not a great explanation but if you no wat parts im talking about, do you think this price is right? - The hub has bearings in it. If the bearing started to go bad and you keep driving on it. That in turn will damage the axle shaft. You have to replaced the front hub which come with new bearings, axle, axle seal, ect. Parts can be had for about 300 on the net. But taking it somewhere for about 1200 sound about right. If your mechanically inclined you could fix it yourself. Spending 1200 bucks on that van does not make sense to me.

- bones makes many types of bearings. Some are ABEC rated and the better ones are not. The ABEC rating is for vibration in high speed machines that run at speeds similar to skating over 200 mph. They are not the best design for skating but companies make a lot of them for other reasons and it is cheaper to get them than a design that is custom made. Bones, Twin Cam, Zero Drag, and some other companies have custom designs for their better bearings.
- Q: Slight play is felt both front wheels with wheels off the ground. 99 Buick Park Avenue.
- There should be no play in either the bearings or the tie rods. Grab the wheel at 3 and 9 oclock shake side to side, that is usually tie rods, if it's at 12 and 6 then it's the bearings.

- Reds bearings are better I used to skate them and loved them but it is really worth spending the money for bones swiss or super reds.
