- Q: i noticed a kind of humming noise coming from the front of the truck, my gut reaction is its the bearings going out. if i remember correctly its a pretty straight forward process.1. remove wheel2. remove caliper3. remove the bearing cap4. remove the spindle nut5. remove rotor and replace bearingspretty sure thats the sum of it, but do any you need any special tools? its been a while since i've done any bearing work and now i at college at my tool arsenal is basically limited to a 100 or so piece craftsman set.
- no special tools is required,a good socket set channel lock players or the right size wrench to remove the spindle nut,tap out the rear bearing cap to remove the rear bearing,you should also replace the bearing race in the router,repack the bearings with a good bearing grease then replace router.make sure you tightened the spindle nut to the right specks,not too tight or loose.also replace a new cotter pin.

- Bones Swiss bearings came out in 88. There were other Swiss bearings on the market, though. Reds are much newer, coming to market in the early 2000s
- Q: I'm sick of decent bearings costing $50+ for a set. So i started looking at industrial bearings from reputable companies like Fafnir and Timkin, and I'm gonna try putting on non skate-specific bearings cuz they'd be cheaper. BUT I need to know the outside diameter of the bearing and the inside diameter. Only I don't have an exact way of measuring the dimensions. If you know, please help me out! THanks!
- i wouldn't do that if i were you. i don't skate long boards myself, but as i'm changing my set up every few months, the LEAST important thing is bearings. just get them from the skateshop, but don't bother with the decent ones. you'd be surprised that there isn't much difference between bones ceramics and the cheapest skateshop bearings with no brandname. i've also found, the more expensive, the easier they break.so don't bother with industrial bearings, save time by getting the cheapest bearings from a skateshop. +/- $10.
- Q: i just found my skateboard after about 5 years and two of the wheels are rusted and wont move. im working on replacing the wheels and bearings, but the two rusted wheels still wont come off i was able to get the bolt off of one and it now spins, but thats about it. its been soaking in coke all week and i bought wd-40 today and used that.

- Q: I took my 2001 lincoln ls V8 into get the engine checked it needs work done, which is expensive, which i knew it would be. They checked my front sway bar which is broken and needs replaced.. but they took it upon themselves to check all my wheel bearings, and they are now telling me i need to replace all of them! cause my bearings or hub is loose.....but i don't notice anything odd or any noise when i drive... they say it will cost almost 2400 $ to replace cause they have to buy the whole kit set up and cant buy just the piece.... does this have any truth to it? any advice is appreciated
- Wow that does sound like alot for some wheel bearings to tell you the truth they but for that ls I dont know they could cost a pretty penny and might take alot of work but I really never seen a wheel bearing that was hard to replace so go to your local parts store and price out wheel bearings and see what they come to
- Q: What skateboard wheels, bearings and trucks for my sons new pool skateboard?
- Lets see... For a good deck I'd check out Plan B, ZooYork, or Zero they're all 3 pretty good brands. For trucks u have either Silver or Independent, I think Silver is better but that's my opinion. For bearings I'd go with either Bones or FKD saw blade. For wheels Bones would be a good buy as for grip tape u can either check out mob or check out Torey Pudwill's new brand called Grizzly Grip but it just came out recently so it may be hard to find in stores!
- Q: I just took my car to the shop and found out that the carrier bearing is going out on my car, I need a new one. I was told that the only way to get one is off a salvage car or to buy a new drive shaft because Ford does not sell this part seperate. This has been a huge problem with the Ford Fusions and like it such as the Milan. So my question is, has any of you had this problem and found this part somewhere other than buying a new drive shaft?
- From Ford buying a new carrier might mean buying a driveshaft with it if they know it's an issue and they think the driveshaft is causing it. I really don't know. The bearings might be available from an auto parts store by themselves. You can get used carrier assemblies with the bearings in them from a salvage yard or Ebay. The carriers fit multiple popular Ford vehicles so they're everywhere. Call around and ask. BTW it's a little odd that a 2008 vehicle would need axle carrier bearings already. That's not a part that fails with any frequency at all. Unless you put on about 200k miles or drive it hard I wouldn't expect them to go bad. I'd file a complaint with safercar just to cover yourself since if they were to lock up or toss the driveshaft it could cause an accident. You can call Ford(main headquarters) directly and tell them it's unusual for this to happen and see if they'll pay for all or part of the repair.
