Q: i have 2 audiobahn 12s and an adiobahn amp in my 2000 malibu...1. the thin blue wire that comes from the amp to the stereo is connected to an orange wire behing the (stock) stero, and when i turn off the car the amp stays on. does anyone know which wire to connect the blue wire to, so the amp turns off with my radio or when i turn off the key.2. only one of my 12s is hitting, i think ther might be a wire connected wrong behind the stero. since i have a stock stereo and i have a converter hooked up, because it had no rca inputs on it. its not the speaker or the rca wire itself, because when i connect it with a y cable to the amp one or the other will work...i would appreciate it if someone could help.
I dont specifically know what the wiring diagram for a malibu is, (you should look this up if you dont already know, so that you can properly wire your amp), but this is how it should be connected: 1. the blue wire should be hooked to the remote turn on wire or power ant wire from your car 2. the power wire should be wired directly to your battery, with an inline fuse. The power wire should NOT be connected to any of the wires already existing in your car. 3. the ground wire should be connected directly to a ground point in your car The reason that your amp is not shutting off when the car turns off is because you more than likely did not properly connect the remote turn on/power antenna lead. If your car doesn't have one, you can connect it to the ignition (be careful when doing this). As for the subs, check the wires that you spliced into to your line-out converter. It sounds like you may not have properly connceted the left wire, and only the right is getting a signal. If it's not that, then maybe you bought a crappy line-out converter and it's broken.
Q: We added an AC to a preexisting sx 80 furnace and we are having a hard time wiring the new thermostat to the furnace, and the condensor to the furnace. Anyone know how to get a wiring diagram?? thanks

Q: the charger has three wires to put a male plug on and they are black white and green and they look like 12 gauge wires
wire colors are green is ground the black and white wires are you load wires look at you 240 volt plug and determine which terminal is the ground this one is where the green wire goes the black and white wire go to other two terminals this should do it
Q: subs - dvc 4ohm 2 of them 600wattrms on each wiring it to a 1200 watt amp same brand as sub amp is 1 ohm stable to i wire the subs together and then to the amp a 1ohm? that would give each sub 600 watts right?
myself I even have 2 - jl w6's under pressure to 3 ohms. under pressure to a fosgate 4 channel amp, the two channels bridged and the amp sees a million/2 ohm after bridging and the amp works positive with the best points set at 0 i are not getting the suitable overall performance this type and would desire to cord to 6 ohms. and bridge to 3 ohms and this would be greater suitable yet have not tried it yet will interior the destiny. shop this set up if it sounds reliable yet seem interior the destiny to get an amp or subs that artwork at the same time.
Q: have black (hot) and 2 whites from the house. Got Black,green.blue.and white from the fan. Any clues on how to wire this? There is a light switch involved. I know to match the colors but what do with the blue (light) wire is beyond me.
Mark is Correct except for one thing that caught my attention: you said you have 2 White Wires and 1 Black Wire coming from the house.....WHY 2 White Wires and only 1 Black, Doesn't add up Correctly, unless one of those White Wires was marked with a piece of Black Tape to identify it as a second Hot Wire which would then be used to separate the Fan Motor from the Fan Light by each having its own separate power source.......Be Careful!!
Q: what gauge wires should i use for my 12'' alpine typr r SWR-1242D?

Q: Ok. so i wired my cd deck into my 92 buick, but everytime i start the car i have to manually turn on the cd deck. i also have to change the settings everytime! and once i turn off the car the setting will not save and the setting will be lost. Now everytime i turn my car on i have to manually put the settings again! this did not happen in my old car! and i think it might be the wiring! Because the last cd deck i had did save the settings! and would turn thge cd player on everytime i turned on my car!! and it would play the track back, right where i left off. please help! i did attach the yellow cable wire the red cable to the battery current.? is there a problem!
sparky is right. The yellow wire keeps the memory, and should have constant power even when the ignition is off. The red wire should have power only when the ignition is on. If the radio is left on when you turn the car off, it will come back on when you start the car, but only if the radio keeps constant power on the yellow wire. For your car: The constant power wire should be orange (connect to radio's yellow wire) The switched power wire should be yellow (connect to radio's red wire)
Q: do i need a wiring harness or can i use wire crimps and do it w.o on a 2000 blazer 4wd if u think i need it plz tell me thanks
You should always use a wiring harness to install a stereo in a vehicle. Cutting the wires and attempting to hand wire is almost always a bad idea. The wiring harness is pretty cheap ($10-$20) and simplifies the whole procedure. Most of the time, the wiring harness and the head unit have similar colored wiring to aid in quick connections. Also, and more importantly, you can reverse the installation. The plugs will still be there and no cutting and rewiring at all. Remember, the head unit costs $150-$250 bucks, why would you cut corners on the installation kit?
Q: I have seen 2 wire detectors and horn strobes, and 4 wire detectors and horn strobes. What is the difference? The 2 wires are cheaper.
In 2-wire systems the power and the detector signal are multiplexed onto 2 wires. The detector has to have circuitry to extract the power and multiplex the signal onto the wires, making them slightly more complex. In 4-wire systems the power is separate from the signal, unless there is more than one signal from the detector (i.e. smoke heat). It could be 2 wires for power and 2 wires for a single signal (i.e. smoke), or 1 wire for power, 1 wire for smoke, and 1 wire for heat, with the 4th wire being common to all 3. .
Q: Hi, I've got two new appliances (range hood fan/light and bathroom exhaust fan). Both are installed but not wired. My house is older, build in 1940s and the previous appliances were wired using the existing copper wiring which runs through the house. I'd like to electrically install these new appliances but am concerned about connecting the new appliance wiring (aluminum wiring i think?) to the copper wiring in the house. Is it safe to pigtail these two wires together? Or is there a better, more safe method? Thanks
The appliance wiring is not aluminum, tinned (annealed) copper. It is safe to connect to the copper building wire. Theoretically if you scrape the wire you could skin the tin off and see the copper, but never been able to successfully accomplish that. If you really are worried it using an antioxidant will not hurt anything, but really it won't help. If you look at the cord you will find various letters, if you look up those letters on the net you will find that some have rubber. Rubber is corrosive to copper so the wire is covered in tin.
