- You can, but it's something reserved for the winter. My pony has a hunter clip in the winter and will be turned out with a heavyweight t/o rug with a neck. If not too cold, he may just have that on. If a little chilly, we just use a fleece as a liner rug. If cold with a cold wind chill or it's so cold it's a bit icy, he tends to have his duvet-type under rug left on under the heavyweight. He's the type that gets very very cold very quickly in the winter and he also has allergic bronchitis, which catching a chill can aggravate, so we layer rugs for prevention. He also goes out all day, so has the extra rug in case the temperature drops (our yard is on top of a small hill so tends to be very cold and breezy in the winter, with the temperature dropping occasionally throughout the day)

- I once got a nasty vomit stain in my oatmeal color carpets, I tried to clean it with regular Resolve but it didn't work. In desperation, knowing that dishwasher detergent is excellent to remove grease stains in white clothing, I used it on the carpet, and Eureka!!!!!, the stain disappeared completely. So, I decided to try using dishwashing detergent instead of the regular carpet detergent solution in the carpet cleaning machine and my carpets returned to it's original gorgeous color and all stains were gone. The carpets not only were cleaner, they smelled wonderful. Another good point of using dishwashing detergent is that is very low suds so it leaves no residue.

- Those cans of sprays are ineffective and can prove quite costly and the powders you speak of are granules and those you must have a special machine to to pick up the granules you simply can not vacuum up this stuff, my suggestion to you is to use what I use Baking soda and Cornstarch mixed, sprinkle these two in equal amounts over your carpet wait several hours or overnight and then just vacuum up the next day or after several hours, thats it. it is easy and cleans the carpet very nicely for spots you can just use a small dollop of Shaving cream on the spot and rub in and allow to dry then just vacuum up this will remove grease and muddy dirty spots and some stains, if you have trouble removing certain stains just use undiluted White Vinegar or a little dishwashing liquid mixed into some warm water sponge on and then rinse with warm water never hot water as this will cause the pile to mash down and become stiff Good Luck !

- For oil stains that are not easily removed from carpets, wipe them with carbon tetrachloride solution. Use cotton yarn dipped in high quality gasoline, wipe carpet greasy spots, the best effect

- steam clean the rug and then apply a product called Urine Gone. it works really well. After about an hour or so, stem clean the rug again.
