Q: This rug has been in my room for at least ten years and it has never been cleaned. I don't have access to expensive supplies so I'll need to know how to do it myself with out steam `cleaners or anything else... I have heard of using oxyclean which I do have but I'd need instuctions. (this rug is VERY large... 10' by 13'). Thank youDanielle
For a rug this large, I suggest using either a foaming cleaner, like Woolite Spray Foam Carpet cleaner or a dry granule cleaner like Capture or Resolve. The both types of cleaners are a simple application. Just spray on the foam, agitate with a brush to work into the fibers, allow to dry and vacuum up. Dry granule, sprinkle on surface and work into the fiber with a brush and let dry, then vacuum. If you have spots or stains, just work either into it with a brush. I like the Woolite because it also contains a scotch guard that leaves a stain repellent and makes cleaning up spills easier without staining.
Q: I used 7lbs of D.E. to battle bed bugs as a post treatment because other tenants have . I've been vacuuming and vacuuming my room to figure out the best way to clean. I'm worried that the powder would turn into mud but testing out the powder in the bowl, I figured that if I change the water depending how many rooms i go through (I have three rooms) i should be okay to avoid clogging or anything. The powder is powder sugar fine and don't build up or stay patted when you do. It's soft and moist to the touch.Do you think with that I can have my carpet cleaned that way? My sister is getting annoyed by all of the powder I've used. lol
With proper care and maintenance, the Rug Doctor Pro is designed to last a lifetime. The outside covering of the machine is made of a durable thick plastic that can withstand hits and bumps without cracking. The Rug Doctor Pro machines are similar in construction to the Rug Doctor rental machines which stay in circulation for over ten years before retirement and are rented, transported and used several times a week.
Q: My carpet is threadbare and needs replacing. The kids are almost grown and pets live outside. Should I get a timber floor or go with carpet again. Which is easier to keep clean? I know that carpet is dirty but it also hides a lot. If you have a timber floor and then get rugs, aren't you getting the vaccuum out anyway? What do you think?
Your point is valid about vacuuming area rugs, but i feel that it is less work to vacuum one small rug and clean one large wood floor than to keep a large carpeted area clean. Stains on carpets are a nuisance as well. I prefer carpet in the bedrooms, regardless of the maintenance because i don't like getting out of bed and stepping on a cold floor. Hard floors are ideal for any other part of the house.
Q: The yellow rug's area is 59 Sq feet greater than the green's. Find the length of each rug. Please help i missed this day of school and my teacher quot;Forgotquot; that we did that that day. It is the only problem on my Algebra final I do not understand. Solve it algebraically and please show the steps. P.S. it is a 2 day test, I didn't check the test before we took it haha. I would teach myself, but I don't have my book because it's at my dad's house and my teacher isn't available tomorrow to teach me..
Lets say: The length of green rug = GL The length of yellow rug = YL The width of green rug = GW The width of yellow rug = YW The areas: Green rug = GL*GW Yello rug = YL*YW What we have: GL = YL+7 YL = GL -7 GW = 3 YW = 5 YL*YW = GL*GW + 59 YL*YW = YL*5 = (GL-7)*5 GL*3 + 59 = (GL-7)*5 3GL +59 = 5GL - 35 5GL -3GL = 59 +35 2GL = 94 GL = 47 YL = 47 - 7 = 40
Q: What's the difference?
A rug has a backing which will in most cases prevent the rug from slipping on a hard floor, such as wood. A tapestry does not, and can slide out from under you as you walk on it. The construction of the tapestry is not designed to hold up to foot traffic either. Hope this helps.
Q: I need to carpet my whole house because there are extremely ugly tiles throughout the house. I cannot afford professional carpeting. I want to do it myself. My questions are: do carpet tiles look good? And approximately whats the price of carpet tiles, the amount for one regular size room?
Carpet tiles look fine. I'm in a commercial building where carpet tiles are used almost everywhere, and they look and function quite well. They also have the advantage that if damage occurs, or wear becomes too noticeable, the tiles can be pulled up and replaced. Prices vary a lot according to the design, depth of the pile, resistance to wear, etc.
Q: What color rug would go with this bedding?
The wood floor solution- Any rug that is colored can go with your room as long as it is the same color as a color on your bedspread. The carpet solution- It really depends on what color carpet you have... *HELPFUL* - If you take some crayons and color a sheet of paper the same color as the rug you want, then you can place the paper on your floor and sort of get a better look at it to see if you would like the rug in your room or not. Hope this helped you! :D
Q: How do I keep the the coffe table from digging into the area rug (persian rug) and moving around ?
I like the matting that goes under the carpet rather than tape.
Q: Normal household carpet. NOT industrial carpet. Per square foot.
The average price for carpet will depend on a few things. The type of yarn, the amount of yarn and type of store you buy it from. Unless you are comparing apples to apples it is not possible to get a fair average price. I have a carpet business and customers ask a question like this all the time. So this is what I tell them. My company has a 25 ounce carpet with a FHA padding for $6.99 per square yard. Just over 77 cents a square foot. This carpet is not industrial and is better then rental carpeting. And the price goes up from this point. You must tell the store you are call the exact type of carpet you want to get comparison prices, that way you are apples to apples, not whatever store one gives you compared to store two. Installation cost run around 30 cents per square foot in my area (depending on size of job, type of carpet, stairs etc.)
Q: soap or a regular carpet cleaner
a regular carpet cleaner or the red juice that my baby nephew spilled on my new white carpet. but a regular carpet cleaner got it out well almost
