Q: What good is a carpet?: Carpet water absorption, usually careless cup of water spilled on the ground, does not matter.

Q: My radiator started leaking and now my carpet is pretty much ruined. I've heard nothing but good about the Rug Doctor machine, but I don't know anything about using or renting the machine. Does anyone know how much it'll cost? Are the attachments needed in order to work the machine? Does the cleaning solutions come with it or is it an additional charge? Also any additional info about the machine would be greatly appreciated. Thanks: Okay I have used one before I owned my own carpet cleaner. I really liked it. The cleaning solutions are an extra charge. I don't remember getting any attachments. I think when I rented one it was like $60 plus the solutions.

Q: It's a really nice 5'x9' woven American Indian area rug, but the people that owed it never took care of it. It cost over $100. to take it to a professional. Does any one have any idea's how I can clean it myself? In the olden days there had to been away!: I was the laughing stock of the car wash when I put a huge area rug on top of my car and washed it right there. I did not care. It got clean! Unfortuantely I did not think it through and had to call my husband to pick it up in the truck. It took 4 days to dry and was never the same. Opposed to taking it to a pro, call a rug company like rug doctor. They usually cost close to nothin. Rent one of those machines like they have at the grocery stores. They work!

Q: I purchased this house last year Sept. 17 2010. From day 1 I had severe problems. The ceilings in the back fell from a Norway rat eating the pipes. I did a mold test and Black Mold was a positive. The walls have been removed and replaced. The rat problem stopped after a Professional Trapper was hired. The house has been completed changed. All big mirrors are gone. That is were mold was too. Q: last night i left the top of the cage open for my hamster. he climbed out and chewed loads of holes in the carpet. is there a cheap way to patch or replace the carpet: you can make spot repairs for things like that. i mean if you have like 75 spread throughout the room its going to be pretty hard to do that. first of all you really want it to match what you're replacing of course. if you're carpet is old and faded that can be hard to do. if it is old and faded/stained up, you can take a match from an often misused area if you have one like a closet or such. the best way is to take a very sharp utility knife and maybe a drafting square and cut out a square all of the way down to the subfloor. take the piece you cut out and use it as a template to match the new place you are cutting out. once you get the new piece you can lay it over the previously cut out place (from the holes) and glue it down. that's about the cheapest way. if you just have a few spots, you might be able to find a suitable match to buy in little square foot trial pieces. hope that helps you out.

Q: We have carpet in our kitchen, that's right CARPET! We want the carpet out and purchased some vinyl flooring to replace it. However we just found out that the carpet is GLUED down and therefore a much bigger project to remove it than we once thought. So, we were wondering if the vinyl can be installed on top of the carpet.
