Q: We are trying to get the carpet in one of our bedrooms in our house replaced, but we are on a tight budget. We went to home depot and they said they would have to charge us around $900 to replace all the carpet padding and install the new carpet. we said that we would leave the same padding (to save money), but the woman told us that it is an ohio state law that carpet companies MUST replace the padding if they are going to replace the carpet too. another company we called said this isn't true. was the lady at home depot just trying to get more money out of us, or is there really a carpet padding law? I cant seem to find anything about it. any help is appreciated.: I have never heard of a law requiring you to replace the padding when installing new carpets. How exactly would that law work if you were buying a carpet that has a built in padding? An installation company may have a policy about it but i could find no laws requiring it. Call your attorney General's consumer department and ask them if there is in fact a law but i doubt it very much.

Q: I bought my son one but i don't know if its okay for him to drive it over on the carpet.: Its safe to run remote control cars on carpet, you should be careful of the type of the carpet because if it is shag or another long carpet there are chances that it will get wrapped up on the wheels. If it is an expensive carpeting cars with studded wheels are possibly not the best thing because when they are sliding around they can cause small snags, its nothing serious for normal high traffic carpet but something like carpet in your office where it is designed more for decoration than actually being walked over repeatedly with high traffic will suffer more. Short answer is normal short carpeting you can play with almost any type of car, shag or longer carpet taller cars with more lift is better, smooth carpeting something with harder racing or normal car wheels will do fine. Don't stress too much and have fun with your son, maybe you can get a car and the 2 of you can race them

Q: would it look funny if i had the fuzzy white rug on it because i really want one!!!!: I was unable to open the links but I have seen this done on home decor shows before. If the bottom rug is much larger than the top one, it can look perfectly fine. People do this a lot to cover stains on wall to wall carpet when they can't afford to replace it. Buy the fur rug if you like it, if it doesn't work on the blue rug, put it elsewhere or return it. You have to follow your gut on this one.

Q: How do you take rust stains out of carpets: You can remove rust stains with regular White Vinegar. If the rug is machine-washable, douse the area with vinegar. Let sit for about 15 minutes. Then launder as usual. If the rug is not machine washable, again douse the area with vinegar. Let sit for about 15 minutes. Then scrub the area with shaving cream. Remove the shaving cream with a clean wet rag. It doesn't matter which brand of shaving cream you use...as long as it's the regular white shaving cream. Shaving cream is nothing but whipped soap that rinses out easily. The last thing you want to use on a rug or carpet is overly sudsy soap. -
