- Q: i replaced the water pump and redid the timing belt. now when i start it, it sounds like one of the cylinder is misfiring and makes a chucking noise. do you have to reconnect everything together to see if thats the problem? the engine worked fine before i replaced my water pump. engine like vibrates at each chucking noise. could it be incorrect timing even when the engine starts fine? or is one of the valves bent which is causing the vibration and noise? i checked teh spark plugs and they are fine could if be bad coils? or is the crankshaft weared out? please help and thanks for you help about my situation.
- timing is off. did u line the makesbefore taking the belt off ,and did i spin the motor two full turn to see if the timing makes line up
- Q: I replaced the water pump on my 350 chevy small block and the thing is leaking out of the lower bolt hole on the passenger side. I was told to remove the bolt and coat it with permatex hi tack gasket sealer and reinstall it. Any how I'm wondering why there would be a leak there in the first place, any ideas?
- Bad water pump!!
- Q: I received a call from my daughter who said that the water pump was making a grinding noise. She sent a photo to me showing 0 psi on the gauge. I came home to find it actually working again but after running water straight from the pump I found that it is really rusty. What is this caused from? Our water was nice and clear! We've had freezing conditions here. Still doesn't explain the sudden rust.
- If you have galvanized pipes there is always a trace amount of metal (rust) in your water but if you use the water every day it isn't noticeable, as it comes through in such small quantities. It could be that one or more of your pipes froze and cracked, releasing some larger chunks of rust from the walls of the pipes or pressure tank. Run the water steady for a while and see if it clear up. It would be wise to check all of your exposed pipes/tanks for leaks now too because if a pipe or tank cracks it will either be leaking now or shortly in the future. The rust/ice could have also been temporarily blocking the pipes, causing the 0 pressure. If the pump is running with no water, it will run faster and much louder.
- Q: Need to pump water from the stream to my livestock tank on a regular basis.
- There are plenty of water pumps on the market, but solar powered? I have my doubts that anything smaller than a large photocell array would supply enough electricity for such a heavy load as a water pump. (I could be wrong.) If you used photocells to charge a battery, then used a timer to run the pump for a few minutes a day, that would probably do what you need. Another option, if the stream is fast-flowing, might be to use a paddle wheel to drive a pump directly, then have an overflow line from the tank back to the stream. That way your livestock would have fresh water all the time as long as the stream kept flowing. Most farmers are very smart at being able to figure things out and making them work, so I presume you could do this.
- Q: The truck is a 1982 Ford pickup F100. We didn't realize it was an F100 at the time and we put the F150 water pump on it. The water pump fits perfectly, but is this going to mess up the engine at all?
- No it won't mess up the engine as long as there are aren't any leaks meaning a new gasket is used, the belt is adjusted correctly and is aligned, and the thermostat is replaced using the correct temperature item. Any good parts store employee can sell you the correct thermostat.
- Q: The coolant in my '92 Le Baron is leaking, so I may have to change or replace my water pump.., any ideas?
- Kelly Blue e book is utilized by utilising sellers to lowball you on your commerce. examine the community expenditures on craiglist or autotrader and value hence. if your vehicle is the rapid kind, it will be nicely worth extra because of the fact that is prized by utilising fans.
- Q: 95 mustang leaking water pump changed the pump and its running backward now
- See diagram of belt routing on rad cover or hood. Like the others said. Depending on the engine, it may run backwards to the crank, look at the old one to see how it turns. It pulls water from the rad to the block, not the other way round. With the rad cap off and as the thermostat opens, water should flow from the upper hose into the bottom of the rad Edit: water gets sucked up lower rad hose into pump, pushed into engine up to thermostat that controls water temp and back into rad at the top. if it does not over heat and the belt is on correctly , don`t worry. I hope you did the thermostat when the system was drained
- Q: I have a fairly new jetted tub. I stupidly used bubble bath 2 days before and have since read that it is not good, but just because of the amount of bubbles, not that it will actually harm the system. The electrical circuit is not tripped. I hear this clicking but the pump doesn't turn on. Any ideas? Do I need a new pump?
- Your pump either has a jammed impeller or the coupling is broken. These pumps are lubricated by the water flowing through and when you are pumping bubbles, you're not pumping water. Hopefully the tub was installed so there is reasonably easy access to the pump cavity.
- Q: The difference between submersible pumps and centrifugal pumps
- Difference:The installation position is different: one can discharge water, one is on the ground.Working principle: different submersible pump principle similar electric fan, centrifugal pump by centrifugal force makes the water thrown out. According to the design principle of centrifugal force, high speed rotation of the impeller blades to drive the liquid will rotate out of the liquid, so as to achieve the purpose of transportation. There are many medium for transportation, such as oil, water, chemicals and so on. The pump shaft and the motor shaft are of the same shaft, the pump and the motor are made into an integral body and immersed in water. The medium of transportation is water.
- Q: I have a old house,1920's I think it was built. My water pump kicks on all the time! The tolite upstairs is not that old but the pipes are.The tolite runs for a min. and then stops for 5 mins. When I am running a bath..the second I turn off the water in the tub,the tolite starts to run! Same with the tolite downstairs, that one is only a few years old and the pipes are the same as it is an addition to the house. When I am up late at night in my office I hear the water pump kicking on in the basement ever 10 mins or so! My electric bill is huge! How can I fix this problem? What is causing it? I have not noticed any water leaks anywhere. We turned up the pressure on the pump. That helped a little. Thank god we have our own water well. Anyone have any Idea's?
- similar problems with mine a year ago..and I eventually called in the water well professionals..It ended up being the pump itself on the end of the pipe down in the well..I then replaced the toilet fluidmaster and flapper anyway!
