- Q:My Cadillac Seville Broken Air Compressor? Should I spend 3,000 to get the air suspension replaced?
- IF you want to keep the air suspension, OKorder has kits that have all the major parts.
- Q:I own a full suspension Diamondback DBR X-Link mountain bike. I want to buy a disk breaking system for the b?
- Yes you can do that. Just be careful.
- Q:Any links to additional information would be much appreciated
- I assume you are talking about a car with an active suspension system that can adapt to different driving conditions and change ride height/dampening. If so, here is a link: www-personal.umich.edu/hpeng/IAV. If that is not what you are looking for, or if it is too complex for what you are looking for, a simple yahoo or google search will give you many options.
- Q:I think the fine and suspension system is flawed and clearly not making an impact. If you want to stop these defenders, such as James Harrison from continually hitting guys with the crown of his helmet, you should make that multiple incident offender, such as James Harrison, play with an old school leather helmet for the remainder of the season. I guarantee that this form of punishment would eliminate such players from repeating their helmet to helmet hits.
- There is a short in the switch in the steering column. You will need to have it replaced to solve your problem.
- Q:Or will many of them simply retrain so they can fix electric cars?(I would suppose some of them might but electric cars are a whole different ball of wax, if you know what I mean. They are extremely different than the internal combustion engine that currently powers cars. But I would imagine some things might not change too much. Maybe the brakes and tires might not change much. Maybe the transmission might not drastically change. Who knows.)
- This Site Might Help You. RE: Will many auto mechanics lose their jobs as electric cars become the majority out on the road in the future? Or will many of them simply retrain so they can fix electric cars? (I would suppose some of them might but electric cars are a whole different ball of wax, if you know what I mean. - Q:I‘ve had my prelude for about 4 months now. I bought it used with 161,000 miles on it and now it has almost 164,000 on it. One problem that I‘ve had ever since it got cold out (I live in NJ right outside of philly) is that the belts usually squeak when I start the car cold. It also turns over a few times on the first start after not using it for several hours. This morning when I went to start my car it took at least 10 seconds of turning over, it sounded like the battery was almost dead, but it did start. Then I notice my abs light came on. Do I need to do something about the breaks? One other thing I‘ve noticed is my front suspension. It makes these weird creaking noises. If I make a left turn, the front right makes the noise, if I make a right, the front left makes the noise. It seems like I‘m starting to run into a lot of potential problems. The thing is, I don‘t know where I should take my car. Should I go to Honda? Or Pepboys? Where is a reliable place that I can trust?
- You bought an older car with alot of miles onit, its going to have some problems for sure. The entire first paragraph can be seen as relatively normal, its an old car, its hard to start. take it to pepboys or wherever you go and have them test the battery and make sure its still good, do the same with the alternator and the starter. The brakes most likely need checked in some way because of the ABS light. The front end noises are most likely bushings or ball joints. If you know anything about auto repair, you should be able to get the parts at the pepboys or wherever and do the repairs yourself, if not, talk to some people in your area and ask where they go with vehichle issues, a good mechanic isnt very hard to find, our work is passed on by word of mouth. If all else fails go to the dealership, they are expensive by nature, but they could fix you up. The most important thing to remember is to not spend more on repairs than the car is worth, there are about a million preludes out there if this one dosent work out.
- Q:My car is a 1991 Lincoln Mark VII LSC. The front and rear suspension is completely out. I know there are several things that could be wrong with it. I kind of just want to change out the whole suspension on both sides. How would I do that? Or where could I look to figure it out?
- The rear suspension is not difficult to replace with new or even used air bags and solenoids. It is a good idea to replace the air lines, but before doing any of that make sure the compressor/pump is working. If you want to rid the car of the air ride suspension there are kits on the market or you can use the struts for a Mercury Cougar ont he front and a set of special coil springs on the rear. The springs are usually available are specialty parts stores. There is a savings over buying the kits whole. Best of luck!
- Q:Can it be done? If so, how easy or hard would it be?FWIS (4-wheel independent suspension) Multi-link Double Wishbone system.
- the front already has it. the rear would require some serious work but i am sure that you can find a kit for just about any thing. i want to put a v8 on my push lawn mower.
- Q:I was suspended awhile back and felt that I would get nowhere. Somehow, my appeal went through and was upheld and I was just restored. So, although the system still has problems, the fact that the staff was willing to look into a concern and correct it can happen, so I guess that makes me an object lesson. I came back from suspension. But, has the system worked for you? How can we, as members, make the system work better for all of us?
- I have had one violation overturned so I have to agree the system does work. We as users have to learn the system and what constitutes a violation. Many people make the same mistakes over and over, and then blame the system. After I was banned I resolved to find out how the system worked. From time to time I have a TC in this section and consider myself up with the play. Posting questions in the wrong section is the next issue I feel Yahoo has to face as numerous sections are overwhelmed by Q's that don't belong there and this section is the worst I have come across.
- Q:I have a 1993 Chevy 2500 4 wheel drive 3/4 ton truck, Im wanting to upgrade the suspension system. Im keeping it the height it is right now though, I dont want to lift it or lower it. The tires I put on it are 2 sizes bigger than the stock ones, so it lifted my truck enough right there. My trucks suspension though is pretty rough, I mean if I hit a pebble, I‘ll know. I really like how the new trucks ride, like Cadillacs, thats how I want my truck to ride. Id like to keep it without an air ride system, though I have heard that is the best way to upgrade my suspension. Anyone who can help me I would appreciate it. Also any websites or books that would help educate me on how to upgrade a suspension system for a truck, that would help out too. Again I dont want to lift or lower my truck, thanks again.
- The 4wd like the HD version have a hard suspension as it has to be designed to take the beating of off road stuff which is an assumed use. Therefore you feel evey bump, hole, crack whatever in the road. What you can try and find is a dual rate suspension which has a soft start and stiffens under load or when hitting a big pot hole. Also replace the stock shocks with better ones and maybe even adjustable ones so that for around town the softer setting soaks up the bumps more and harder for off roading or load handling.
