- Q: I have a 2000 ford expedition with 4wd and rear air bag leveling system. Well the ride on my car is horrible. I can feel every little bump on the road times 10. I was wondering if my SUV has a torsion bar which is twisted(for the lift) because we are certain when we bought it, it had a lift. and the air bag system is leveling them out. In my knowledge twisting the torsion bar for a lift is bad. Could this be the problem of suspension problems?
- It's possible the height adjustment on the air suspension has been messed with. If you run the air bags up, that will make the rear stiffer. There is a link between the rear axle the underside of the body that controls the air suspensionCrawl under there see if it's been maxed-out.
- Q: In a suspension bridge the shape of the suspension cables is parabolic.the bridge shown figure has towers that are 400 m apart that and the lowest point of the suspension cables is 100 m below the top of the towers.find the equation of the parabolic part of the cables placing the origin of the coordinate system at the lowest point of the cable.
- i would set the tires at 35 psi
- Q: what is the maximum air pressure for the firestone air suspension system part #2071?
- To drive with? I think round about 3 bar, than it's to hard. Franky
- Q: We have a house which was built in 1979. In the living room, there‘s a large mirror assembly. About 4 feet tall and about 6 feet wide. They give off a bronze color and have nice tapered edges. It looks nice to us, but we‘re selling the house and getting comments that it is outdated. We want to take it down, but we can‘t figure out how to do it. It has 5 vertical panels which look to be held up by two tracks. One on top and on on the bottom. We tried sliding the mirrors out, but they won‘t budge. The space behind the mirrors is so small that we can‘t see behind it to see if there‘s epoxy or something gluing the panels to the wall. The channels are pinched very tight to the mirrors on top and bottom. I don‘t want to start prying them away from the mirror unless I know that this is how to remove them for sure. Other than breaking them, any ideas?
- I just did the same thing. Start by taping the mirror very well. A good strong tape, making big X's, over lapping. So if the mirror breaks, the chunks will not fly at you as much. Wear heavy work gloves, work boots, and eye protection. Make sure you have someone at home in case there is an emergency. Have heavy duty, contractor bags to put the mirror in should it break. Wrap any broken pieces in newspaper and add to the bag. Call your garbage company and find out if they'll take away broken glass, and if so how they need it processed. Now comes the hard work. Remove the mirror clips, while someone else braces the mirror. If it epoxy is holding well, then pull at the mirror with even pressure. The smaller of my mirrors (about 5' X 8') broke into a ton of pieces getting it off the wall. My larger mirror is about the size of your large one, maybe a touch bigger. It came off in one perfect piece, and I was able to reuse it in the workout room. The dry wall under the mirrors will be ruined. The epoxy has bonded with it, and you'll have holes to deal with.
- Q: My 2000 Expedition has the rear air bag suspension. One bag has a leak and is causing a major droop in the back suspension (looks like a low rider). The droop comes and goes, but is becoming more of a problem. Rather than the expense of replacing the air bags, will heavy duty or gas type shocks help the problem?
- Air vs gas. Air you can adjust, either manually or with a built in air pump. Good if you plan on towing where you need to adjust the shocks often. Bad if you want a comfortable ride. But, air shocks and air shock absorbers are the same thing, just a different name. Your normal shocks are gas shocks. You cannot adjust them, they use an oil and a gas inside of them with a valve system to provide a more comfortable ride.
- Q: The Mustang also has the Cobra fender emblems, and the intake plaque says 5.0 Cobra I noticed that when I went to the DMV to get the car taged the info readout said 1991 Mustang GT Cobrawhen I went to get insurance it also had to be insured as a Cobra GT,I was told by a man at the Ford Dealership where I work that it was true that no Cobra SVOS where built in 1991-92 ,but there where some 5.0 GT Cobras built in Canada and the U.S. that had the Cobra brake and suspension system, and the only difference in the body would have been the fender emblems and the 17 inch Cobra wheels that my Mustang also has.So for those of you that say the Cobra wasnt made in 1991 are just wrong, maybe the SVO Cobra is what all of you are referring too.
- Sounds to me that the person your bought the car from did a Cobra conversion on your car. You can get all of those part easily from the aftermarket mustang shops. Also the Cobra was built on a LX platform not the GT platform.
- Q: why is it smoother if you drive over a speed bump fast then if you go over it slow???i drive through a side street almost everyday to get back home after school. i sometimes drive fast over speed bumps and its very smooth, but going slow its noti no its not really good for the car(is it ok if its an SUV or truck meant for off-roading??)
- Are you serious? Irons are the stirrup. where you put your feet in. Iron straps, most commonly known as stirrup leathers, are what attaches the irons to the saddle.
- Q: Your nearside track rod and balljoint are worn to excess? What‘s does that mean? It is dangerous?
- Track rod is a term used in the UK for what Americans call the tie rod. Nearside in the UK right side in America (UK vehicles are right-hand drive) and offside in the UK left side in America. The American translation of nearside track rod and balljoint is right side tie rod and balljoint. The British bloke is telling you that the dadgum right side tie rod end and balljoint is worn out.
- Q: My car lease is up in 3 months and the service dept. says these are worn out. I really don‘t want to spend the money to fix these before I turn it in. Is my car unsafe or will it fall apart on the freeway?
- These are part of the suspension system, so if they have failed your car already has a safety issue. The parts are not expensive, and should be replaced before attempting to sell the car - or you must formally tell a potential new owner clearly of this known issue so there is no possible claim against you if they go round a corner and lose control. As it is a leased car you have to look at the terms of lease - the lessor may be responsible for major maintenance, or if you have a lower price lease you may find you are required to keep the car at a certain level or be charged for all work to return the car to an agreed standard on the completion of the lease. Better to deal with it, you may find the car is weaving a little now but you don't notice as the problem appears gradually over time. If you have a workshop manual it will clearly show the replacement procedure - this is a normal service action as these parts are expected to fail over time. The type of roads you drive on will greatly influence how quickly these parts wear too.
- Q: Hey I just got me one of those new Toyota Tundras 5.7L 381 HP TRD and i mean I love it but i have a qick concern in only CERTAIN parts of the freeways it shakes very hard i mean shakes a lot and then it goes away i noticed in just in some places never on the street.should i take it to the dealer and ask them or is something normaldoes any one know this?
- As long as it's new and has a warranty let Toyota deal with it. Any first year model will be prone to a few problems. Good luck, I love those new Tundras. I was just at a truck/tractor pull over the week end. A local dealership brought in a new '07 Tundra and Nissan Titan. They both out pulled ALL other half tons in the pull off ! I loved it. I'm a big fan of the Nissan, and Toyota offerings !
