- Q: I have a 1997 VW Jetta and I recently hauled it via full tow dolly behind a penske truck from PA to Alabama. Now my suspension is Spongy and my brakes hardly work at all. Could there be any connection? Has anyone every had this problem? There didn‘t seem to be a problem before, and this is fairly recent and frustrating.
- It should have treated the suspension as if you had driven it from PA to AL, since the suspension/steering is independent of other systems. It's very possible it was close to one of your struts time to go and this long of a trip just pushed it over. Usually use your brakes while driving and would notice any changes. So, it's possible something happened while towing (like a rock throw into a brake component) and it damaged it to where it's at now. Check your fluid level, if it's empty you will need to refill and bleed as well as check for any leaks once you have replenished the system. Also check for any obvious signs of damage to the rotors, calipers, drums (if equipped), ABS modules and inspect pads and shoes for no material or smooth appearance. It's possible a brake was locked (or became locked due to some incident while towing) and wore down or melted to the point where it doesn't work.

- It depends on your budget.suspension mods can be expensive, it might be wiser to go with the stock tire size.

- The level sensor or it's connections have failed. It shouldn't be too hard to fix. You can get parts at a bone yard.

- suspension system is not a rotating machine , it has either coil springs or leaf springs, it can reciprocate but the effect is not consistent and you need a complicated crankshaft and equipment. i don't think this can be done, it is just not worth it
- Q: I have a T6 PLC manufactured by Trol Systems. In the MCU-04-115 specs, the power requirements are 115VAC, .02A, 50/60 HZ w/1000v magnetic isolation. I understand everything except the w1000v magnetic isolation. Over forty years playing with Electrical/Electronics I‘ve never heard this term. We‘ve used these for about 5 years and I just now noticed this. They work great and I don‘t have a problem with them. I‘m just curious what they are telling me. Someone help me out.
- Magnetic isolation is important sincereceivers produce undesired time varyingmagnetic fields outside their cases. Thesefields may be sensed by the hearing aidtelecoil and could create spurious inputsignals or cause a feedback loop. The VEFVibration Isolation receiver features twolevels of magnetic isolation. The case ofthe internal EF receiver acts at the primary magnetic shielding, or delicate wiring isrequired. The acoustic connection is madeat the port tube, which is rigid for easysealing. Common changes includeimpedance changes, DC resistancechanges, two or three terminalconfigurations, and shock protected coils.The simplest approach involves reproducingthe electro-acoustic performance of anexisting EF receiver (e.g., EF-1937) in aVEF receiver (e.g., VEF-1937). Note thattwo terminal models may offer marginallybetter vibration isolation due to thesimplified internal wiring.
