- Q: Shelby was retarded for not modding anything but the engine. The car has no control. When I buy a Mustang, I definitely want an upgraded suspension system. Does Saleen upgrade the suspension like Roush does, or do they leave it as it is like Shelby?

- the more air the rougher the ride and it might help handling on certain roads but the system is pretty expensive, usually used for low rider vehicles and custom cars.
- Q: I wonder if a k20z3 and all components fit into a 1993 civic, including exhaust and suspension system?
- motor and tranny yes, with some modding and some good convertion mounts. Suspension out of a car that has the k20z3 no exhuast no way, exhuast are mandrel bent to fit in the specific cars underframe. Unless honda made a special civic back in 93 with a stock k series motor i highly doubt you will be able to bolt on the exhaust. Just get a new exhuast your already going to spend around 7k to get this set up in your car speend the extra 3-4 hundred and get a decent exhuast.
- Q: I have a 99 single cab 2wd S10. I know nothing about vehicles, but i want to lift my truck 3 inches so i can fit 31 inch tires on it. Would this work?Also what kind of lift kit would i buy? Whenever i read about lifting S10 people talk about body lifts and suspension lifts. Do i need 1 or both? And do i need a mechanic to install it or can i do it myself?
- Hi i think you will find its because the back brakes are also the hand brake. So if your brakes fail you've always got the handbrake as a last resort because it uses a cable to operate them instead of hydraulics and they are not open to the elements. I know some cars have disc brakes all round but i think these are cars like jaguar which have inboard disc brakes .Regards MAC
- Q: if a person is overweight or morbidly obese, does it affect the suspension and braking system on a vehicle ? would they have to change shocks/struts , brakes,ball joints , tie rod ends, bushings earlier than a person of normal body weight ?
- Yup. How much difference will depend on the vehicle. A larger vehicle will typically have a larger capacity so the % of the load will be smaller and then in theory cause less wear and tear on the suspension. A subcompact may have a GVR (gross vehicle weight) of say 3000 lbs. The car empty may weigh 2500 so that means that if the driver weighs say 350 that only leaves 150 pounds of weight caring capacity. If the driver also happens to be a anvil salesman and carries 2 75 pound anvils with him all the time the car is at max load at all times and will wear out faster than if say the car was only carrying a supermodel and her purse dog. If the vehicle is say a typical 1/2 ton truck with a GVR of 7000 pounds and weighs 5000 lbs empty a 350lb driver is not going to make as much of a 'dent'.

- ? yes, the period of spring T2pi*sqrt(m/k), where m204kg, k1.68·10^6 N/m; ? yes, circumference of the wheel C2pi*r, where r0.387m; ? yes, the speed should be vC/T r/sqrt(m/k) r*sqrt(k/m) 0.387* sqrt(1.68·10^6 / 204) 35.12 m/s; but not 220m/s !!!
- Q: Will the school let you make up any homework, tests, etc. that you missed while you were suspended?
- They don't affect it directly, but they do make it difficult to catch up. You should be getting homework from the school, either have someone pick it up or e-mail it to you. With test, they should have a system in place to either have you take it during your suspension, or once you come back. Your best bet is to get in touch with your teachers and ask how they handle it personally. Good luck!

- The suspension will have heavier duty shocks, springs that can carry a heavier payload and the transmission will be updated with heavier clutches/plates (automatics) amongst other parts such as a transmission cooler for towing heavier weights. The axles will also be geared for pulling and the brakes will be larger to accommodate trying to stop heavier loads. It's not just the price.

- Q: What parts need replacement? 2006 Hyundai Sonata. I took it to a mechanic and they said the struts need to be replaced. The struts have been replaced, but the squeaking continues. It makes lots of noise (like rubber rubbing up against rubber sound) when I hit bumps. I also hear something a bit loose like a tick noise. The squeak is loud and annoying.The car almost has 60,000 miles.
- Sounds like it could be either body noise bushings or rubber suspension system bushings. At sixty thousand miles the car really shouldn't need ball joints or struts. To help eliminate the squeaking noises lubricate all rubber bushings with a liquid silicon or liquid graphite spray. Never lubricate any rubber parts with anything other than liquid silicone or liquid graphite spray as petroleum products are very detrimental towards rubber.
