The speed capability of the car does not make it illegal until you exceed the posted speed limit. So the engine size or drive train is not a factor. What makes cars street legal are: working brakes head lights brake lights tail lights horn windshield wipers rear view mirror seat belts emissions control system suspension system that is intact, not overly worn Some states have more requirements, some less. Some states don't require turn signals because a hand signal is just as legal. Street legal and street safe are two different things. Street legal has to do with registering the car so that it can be driven on the street. You can have a car street legal but not street safe.

Shop manual says there is one adjuster on each light place the car on a flat surface 25 feet away from a wall have tires inflated and weight in the car as it is normally driven. The adjuster looks like a silver bottle cap (on the back of the light assembly in the middle) and is turned with a foot long or longer #2 philips screwdriver There is a notch screwdriver is inserted AT 90 degrees to the adjuster bolt nearly vertical. Q: Im not very handy with cars, but my buddy is a mechanic. I love my Lincoln, but the air bag for the suspension in the back right hand side is no longer working properly. The part isnt terribly expensive, but I have to order it online. Is it terribly hard and time consuming to replace?Thanks!
usually those have to be replaced in pairs and gotta diagnose the system to make sure its just the bag/gotta know what your doing when you get into this suspension
Q: There is some other problems. For the most part it sags N the back but occasionally it will sit level. Just wandering if it could be something other than the bags?
My wife's Lincoln did the same thing. If you look under the car you'll see ride height sensors on both sides. They are attached between the frame and the suspension. They kind of look like mini shock absorbers with wiring going to them. On her car they were bad. There's also a relief valve that allows air to escape when the suspension adjusts. It could be that too. Like JetDoc I doubt it's the bags if it works sometimes. If it is the bags it's cheaper to convert it to coil over suspension. On Ebay complete kits are around 400 bucks.

Q: Rear suspension problem- back of the car is lower than normal. hello; I have an X5 4.4i 2005, the back of the car is lower that normal and the dashboard display saying rear suspension not adjusted. history: 3-4 weeks ago I drove the car to work as normal, leaving in the afternoon i noticed that the back one side is lower than the other, but after starting it up it adjusted it self. now the back suspension both sides are low and one of them is lower than the other still. I read some comments saying i need to re bot the computer system with buttons available to me on the dashboard But my car model does not have the said buttons. please advise. Thank you Andrew
If it's an x5, you are probably, and when I say probably, I mean, change both of them and buy a spare. More than likely, your vehicle has self-leveling rear-axle suspension. This means that your vehicle has air bags in place of the rear shock absorbers. There is an air pump under the rear cargo mat. It regulates compressed air between what are basically, two cylindrical air bags places where a gas strut would normally be. These air bags (pneumatic springs) rot away from folding under the weight of the car and leak. The car pumps and pumps, but the ride height doesn't change, so it tell you that it isn't work and stops trying. I'd recommend changing both of them at the same time and clearing the module's fault codes with a GT1. My company charges 2 hours to change one. So I would say 3 hours elsewhere. No. Jada Toys/Big Time Muscle 1:18 die-cast model vehicles don't sit on suspension springs/coils. Its just a rod and wheels like hot-wheels. Also, the detail on the engine bloc and seats are usually all made out of plastic. Maisto are far more better in quality. )

Q: My car is lowered and I want to return it to standard height however there are raised springs available (1 inch up from stock) and so ive been wondering if the higher the spring the more comfortable the ride will be? Would it be much difference because I can save a couple hundred by just getting used stock springs instead. Also, is there a difference between air shocks and gas shocks?But is my theory correct? Nope. Raising the suspension won't make the car ride any smoother that it is now. Unless you're hitting the suspension bumper stops now, a higher ride won't change a thing. Air shocks are typically connected to a source of compressed air and can be used to raise and lower the car, or improve it's load carrying capacity, while gas shocks just use nitrogen or some other inert gas to keep the oil in the shock absorbers from foaming under hard use. If you want to improve the ride of your car, I suggest you just go back to the suspension system that came on the car when it was new.
