- Q:what is RIDE CONTROL in cadillac sedan deville?
- The car has air springs and the ride Controller uses a air pump in the car to adjust the height by how much weight is in the car.
- Q:i am looking to buy a new suspension for my jeep and i was wondering what was the difference between long and short arm suspensions. can anyone help?
- Short arm kits are good up to a 6 lift. A short arm kit comes with new lower control arms that are about 1/4 longer than the stock arm. What it does is place the front axle at the proper angle for alignment purposes (caster) A long arm kit does the same thing but the lower arm is a lot longer. It will mount farther back on the frame and a good kit will also come with an upper control arm. The long arm gives the Jeep more articulation (wheel travel when rock crawling). This means your front tire can climb up something a lot farther before the rear tires start to come off the ground. If you are not building a super off road machine, there is no reason to build a long arm Jeep. You can also look into johnny joint lower arms. They are a short arm kit that has a heim joint at the axle so it can twist like a long arm set up, just not as much.
- Q:When I turn my car off and release the break, it rocks and makes a weird creek like sound. I‘m afraid of it being something critical and that I will have to get a new car. It is a 1998 Grand Prix V6 3800. What is that noise because when ever it rocks it happens. Please help me with that sound identification. Is it not so critical or is it?Is it able to be fixed?
- sounds like an old suspension system its metal on metal rubbing together it could be anything from frame bushings to the bushings in the shocks or even the springs if you want to test it sit in the car and have a buddy bounce each corner of the car then when it creeks you know what side it is
- Q:Okay, so here‘s the issue. I bought a used car and I really loved. The thing is, the car is lowered. I guess the previous owner thought that was cool. But sadly it‘s not because every time I go over a speed bump, the parts underneath my car scrape against that speed bump. Anyways, so I wanna go about changing that problem. I was wondering what the difference between coilovers, shocks, springs, and struts are.
- Dont let it get you down. theres a lot of good advice given on this story here. Ill add that the MSF course is not designed to teach you how to ride from scratch, so you were at a disadvantage and in all reality at a class you should not have been at yet. the parking lot idea is what you should do. once you learn the basics, then up the anty a little to some low traffic roads. get with another rider to help you learn. its just a new thing for you and you may just be a slower learner, but doesnt mean that riding is not for you. Riding is not for you if you decide that its not for you, and only then!!.
- Q:Hello, im about to buy Lincoln Mark VIII 1995 but im not sure if i should because the owner said that the front and rear air ride suspnsion needs to be fixed or converted to standard suspension but im not sure how much it would cost and is it worth fixing it up and it is my first car so i wouldent want it to break on me and im getting a really good deal only for $500 thanks
- common problem with air ride might want to check a local shop or two see how much it cost to repair air ride just call three local shop ask
- Q:Determine the effective spring constant of the suspension system of a car. Consider a load of 4 passengers, each with a mass of 70 kg. The car suspension system consists of four identical springs, each with a spring constant k. When all four people get into the car, the tires is depressed by about Δx 2.0 cm.
- It's a bit smaller than Texas. Earlier it was taking over the whole gulf. The eye is huge though. When the eye hits, it will be hitting multiple areas at the same time because it's so wide
- Q:Hey I just got me one of those new Toyota Tundras 5.7L 381 HP TRD and i mean I love it but i have a qick concern in only CERTAIN parts of the freeways it shakes very hard i mean shakes a lot and then it goes away i noticed in just in some places never on the street.should i take it to the dealer and ask them or is something normaldoes any one know this?
- Toyota is aware of this problem and are in the process of rectifying it. The problem is the new suspension system for 07. The shocks and springs in the back end were stiffened to increase the load capacity. When empty and travelling around 45 to 50 mph, ( 65 to 80K), any roughness or bump in the road is not severe enough to have the suspension compress and release. Therefore, the vibrations of the road are transferred to the frame of the truck and a resonate frequency occurs, shaking the entire truck. At higher speeds. the tires float over the road imperfections and the vibration does not occur. The census over this problem currently is to have softer spring bushings installed on the leaf ends, stopping the transfer of the vibrations. To ensure that you have this problem, find a section of road near the dealer where your truck vibrates, then take a new one off their lot for a test drive over the same road at the same speed. If the problem is common to these as well, hang on and a fix is on the way. If not, invite the service manager to come with you while you drive your truck and one of theirs.
- Q:My car started to show a sign that says RIDE CONTROL. My car is a Lincoln Continental 1990i read the car manual and I followed the steps to turn off that sign, but it wont work. - You either have a leak in your brake line or your master cylinder has gone out. Get to the shop ASAP; soon you will have NO brakes.
- Q:Explain why colloidal system exhibits tyndall effect?
- The Tyndall effect is the effect of light scattering on particles in colloid systems, such as suspensions or emulsions. It is named after the 19th century Irish scientist John Tyndall. The Tyndall effect is used to tell the difference between the different types of mixtures, namely solution, colloid, and suspension. In liquids the tyndall effect can be easily seen by using a laser pointer. If you dilute milk to where it is almost clear, or if you have any type of sol, such as colloidal silver, then the beam of the laser can be easily seen as it travels through the liquid. For any particular particle size, tyndall will increase linearly with concentration (ppm). However since tyndall will increase to the third power of particle size for any given concentration, it is very difficult to use tyndall to determine concentration of a sol. Tyndall can really only be used as a go/no go test to determine if a colloid is present, not its concentration. For instance, if you have a 1 ppm sol of 10 nm particles, the tyndall will be 100 times brighter than a 10 ppm sol of 1 nm particles, instead of 1/10 as bright.
