Q: Hi guys: Can any one has an idea why my rear suspension raise up and some times it goes down and I feel I am sitting on a horse like there is no shocks in the back.I HAVE 2000 FORD EXPEDITION 5.4 4WD XLT with air suspension on it.Thanks in advance.
My mom's 99 Epedition had this same problem/quirk with it. The air suspesion system turns on when the truck's computer says it's too low. You hear an air pump kick on and the rear will raise up slowly. If your system fails and you dont hear the pump.or you completely end up with no suspension riding on the rubber stoppers on the frame.you'll probably have to replace the airbag system with a normal coil spring system.which is what we did. Much less noise/irritation/stress.
Q: Can a spectrophotometer be used to identify suspensions or colloids?Thank You!!
this is pretty vague. can you elaborate? spectrophotometers are a general class of instruments that irradiate a sample with known frequencies of electromagnetic radiation and measure transmittance, absorbance, scattering, etc suspensions and colloids are very similar systems. Suspensions are mixtures of a diserpsed phase in a continuous medium where the dispersed phase is large enough to settle out due to gravity. colloids are systems were the dispersed phase is small enough or stabilized enough to prevent settling due to gravity if your question is can we differentiate between suspensions and colloids via spectroscopy, the answer is maybe. depends on the instrument. some spectrophotometers measure particle size if your question is can we identify the chemical composition of the components in the colloids and in the suspensions, the answer is again maybe. It depends on the sample and on the instrument. you could dilute your sample and run it through a mass spectrophotometer, or an Infrared spectrophotometer or maybe an atomic adsorption spectrophotometer , or an ICP spectrophotometer, or etc or several of these instruments anyway, I hope my point. There are a variety of instruments that fall into the class of spectrophotometers and they can do a variety of things to identify your suspension. They're not always 100% successful of identifying your specific sample though.
Q: a closed system consisting of an elastic membrane enclosing a colloidal suspension is squeezed. the compressive pressure is 10 Pa and the the volume of the system changes from 100L to 80L. during this process 1J of heat is released. calculate the change in internal energy of the system.
The work done on the system should be the pressure times the change in volume. Convert 20 liters to cubic meters so it will be in SI units. (20 L)/(1000 L/m?) 0.02 m? Work (10 Pa)(0.02 m?) [remember that a pascal is a newton/m?] 0.2 Newton meters {or Joules} So 0.2 Joule entered the system through pressure and change in volume, but 1 Joule left the system as heat, so the net change is: decrease by 0.8 Joule
Q: My car is a 1991 Lincoln Mark VII LSC. The front and rear suspension is completely out. I know there are several things that could be wrong with it. I kind of just want to change out the whole suspension on both sides. How would I do that? Or where could I look to figure it out?
Usually the air ride suspensions go out because a hole in one of the airbags. It keeps the compressor running non stop and it then burns the compressor up. You have two options. You can replace the factory equipment which is very expensive or you can convert it over to the more dependable conventional system. Most parts stores can get you a conversion kit.
Q: are all of these things able to be combined for better control ? also what else can be done to improve steering response ?? 06 ford focus zx4 ses
Hey I'm here for the first time. I came across this question and I find the replies truly valuable. I hope to offer something back to the community and assist others too.
Q: Does my 2006 Sonata have struts or shocks on the rear end of its suspension system?
Struts For 2006 Hyundai Sonata
Q: its suspension had broken from sitting there it just needs a battery to run and good suspension for it?
Well that's not too general is it? You want an entire suspension system for a 30 year old car that. even when new, was pretty awful? Good luck with that.
Q: can give sample calculation for this load calculation??
Easiest way is probably 3D CAD package. As long as the suspension system and wheels are accurate you only need a simple body chassis with a similar center of gravity to the real car.
Q: Hello, im thinking of buying lincoln mark VIII but the owner of the vechle told me that i wold have to convert or install a a new air ride suspension but i have no idea how much it costs thanks if you could help
Look for leaks in the lines.
Q: there is always a cheaper way to do something. for example: people think they need to spend alot of money on a ricer can, instead of doing that i bought a $20 glasspack and it sounds better than a can. I drive a 1995 honda accord ex. I want to lower it but i dont know how much it will cost. Would a suspension shop cut the springs for me? what are the negatives of doing that? info please
Imagine cutting springs, like cutting your legs, to make them shorter. Cut springs have less travel distance, which means more impact on a smaller area, which eventually damages your frame, axles, wheels, etc and so forth. Never mind that it makes the car unbearable to ride in. Nothing looks worse, than a car that bounces heavily over bumps, bottoms out on speed bumps, and isn't fun to ride in. Doesn't matter how cool it looks to be loweredthe minute you go over a bump and hear the BANG of your chassis hitting somethingthe coolness goes right out the window.
