Q:i have a 98 ford taurus... can anyone give me a diagram of the wires that come off the radio, like wut colors r which speakers. i need to knw so i can wire it my cd player cuz i cant get a wire harness around here..
just take it to a profesional so you dont f uck it up
Q:I wired an outdoor lamp-post. I tested it before wiring it to the fuse box...and if I touch the lamp-post I feel the current (a slight shock). I will be using a ground fault breaker....so I assume if I wire it to that I am going to loose the connection. Any thoughts on what is wrong?
You likely scratched the wire somewhere. When I did an outdoor shed the wire made a corner on some metal and scratched the insulation. It is a leak rather than hooking up the wrong wire, otherwise you would have gotten more than a tingle. First I would examine everywhere the wire comes in contact with the post. Second Check all the connections to see if some were improperly taped, or the wire was cut when stripping.
Q:What's the use of the live wire, neautral wire and earth wire in a plug? The purpose
Other guy is correct for the U.S., but from your wording, I think you live in the U.K. The live (hot) and neutral wires convey the power to the device or appliance, with the hot have a potential of 220-240 volts AC, with respect to the neutral, like the + and - terminals of a battery. The ground/earth connection is for safety, and no current flows in it under normal use. It is connected to any metal parts of an appliance. The neutral is connected to ground in the breaker box or somewhere in your basement or nearby. If there is a short in an appliance and a high voltage gets connected to a metal part, this could be a lethal hazard. But since the metal parts are connected to safety ground, it instead causes a circuit breaker to pop, disconnecting the voltage. .
Q:is this a wire that like is the same as buying any other one?
sure
Q:I have this ipod cord in my car to play music off of, and at first it started cutting out. I would move the wire in a specific spot to a position to where it would work. Then eventually it just stopped working all together, so im assuming the wires inside have been damaged. Now as i said before in a specific spot so im pretty positive i know where it is broken at, but ive never actually spliced a wire, or soldered before. This is where i need help. What tools and materials will i need to fix the wire? Also, how would i fix it? Thanks for the help in advance!
The wires in those little patch cords and headphones and stuff are often very fine and hard to splice or solder. You could get you some wire cutters and wire strippers and a soldering iron and some electrical tape or shrink wrap and go at it, but it would probably be just as well to get another cord.
Q:I have a 98 RS Eclipse (420a) and i would like some opinions and recommendations for spark plug wires. Who makes the best or very good wires for my engine??
The stock ones are made by Mopar. They fit and work.
Q:What exactly is 6 AWG stranded grounding wire usually used for?
In a nutshell: a) Verify that your service drop has the capacity for the additional load - verify this with your utility. b) If you are planning to install a 200A service in the barn, and you are planning to bury the wire, you will need to use 3-0 wire in a conduit. Use separate conductors. Check with your local electrical inspector, but I do not believe you will need to run a separate ground within the conduit for this application. The code may have changed, however. c) You will need to install a 200A fused safety-switch at the pole, and a new 200A panel in the barn. d) The barn panel will also have a 200A main disconnect breaker in it. e) You will need to install an additional ground-rod (or rods) at the barn panel. 1. DO NOT use old/used wire. 2. Consider running triplex wire overhead as it will be less expensive and equally effective. 3. Get the work inspected by an underwriter - your fire insurance will be voided if you do not. Lastly, it is not rocket science, but the codes and standards that apply are there for a reason - follow them carefully and fully and you will be fine.
Q:electroluminescent wire picture?
What about it?
Q:The infamous headlight switch please help
What is so infamous about plugging the wiring to the switch? It will only plug in one way. UPDATE 8/6/11: In over 45 years, I've only replaced one headlight switch that had melted and that was on a 1994 Plymouth Acclaim and the driver had left the headlights on all night and yes it drained the battery. The plastic plug had melted but the wires had not burned through, so I had something to work with. There is a possibility you can find a wiring diagram on Auto Zones website for your car, they do have an extensive library or you could try to find a Haynes manual for your car. Or if you are low on $$ if you tell us what manufacturer, model, year of car you drive someone here might be able to help.
Q:i want technical names of the electrical equipments rheostat, wire wound
there are no other names for them. these names are not used by laymen. they are used by everyone from students to advanced engineers.
