Q: In that chart it has 2 sections, one is maximum amps for chassis wiring and the other is maximum amps for power transmission. What is considered chassis wiring and what is considered power transmission?: brake hp is the power at the 'crank' (the power the motor produces). rwhp rear wheel horsepower is the amount of power actually achieved at the wheels which is usually much less because the power is transferred from the transmission and drivetrain.

Q: I have this ipod cord in my car to play music off of, and at first it started cutting out. I would move the wire in a specific spot to a position to where it would work. Then eventually it just stopped working all together, so im assuming the wires inside have been damaged. Now as i said before in a specific spot so im pretty positive i know where it is broken at, but ive never actually spliced a wire, or soldered before. This is where i need help. What tools and materials will i need to fix the wire? Also, how would i fix it? Thanks for the help in advance!: The wires in those little patch cords and headphones and stuff are often very fine and hard to splice or solder. You could get you some wire cutters and wire strippers and a soldering iron and some electrical tape or shrink wrap and go at it, but it would probably be just as well to get another cord.

Q: i have a 2002 pontiac sunfire where is my ground wire located? what does it look like?: Have a look at the battery. The wire ( usually black about 3/8th inch thick ) on the negative ( -ve ) terminal is connected to the inner wing / chassis or 'ground'. Various components - gearbox etc use a braided wire strap to ground as ordinary wire will break due to vibration. The red wire ( +ve ) goes to the alternator then into the various fuse distribution boxes

Q: I have a wire coming up from my basement that has 3 wires (red, green and yellow). I want to connect cat5 wire to that (twisting the wires together) and run the cat5 to an RJ45 box. What's my diagram going to look like?: Cat5 requires 4 wires (two pairs) - you cannot use old telephone wire. second, if the old phone was was 2 pair, you still could not use it. Cat5 is good to just over 300MHz. The old voice grade JK cable could not transfer data very fast. Just use the old phone wire as a pull. Connect a new run of Cat6 to the old wire and pull the new wire into place using the old wire as a pull string.

Q: Wired car radio no sound powered on then wires crossed had to run red straight to battery. Then memory and ground crossed. Now nothing. Checked fuses radio fuse is bad. Q: The t-stat comes with EIT module. that wires to the t-stat and the furnace. I'm having trouble with the module to furnace wiring.: from the thermostat you match 1,2,3 wires to the module, from the module to the furnace. - R to R (this is your 24V hot) W to W (furnace 24V input G to G (fan for cooling 24V input) Y to Y (cooling 24V input), there should also be another wire that connects with this that goes to the condensing unit C to C ( Common - must have this connected for IAQ to work) as with the Y, there should be another wire to connect to this that goes to the condensing unit. - maybe W2 to W2 if you have a 2 stage furnace, you'll know if you have a 2 stage furnace because the W2 connection on the furnace will be present. - maybe Y2, if you have 2-stage cooling. if you have a humidifier connect both wires from the humidifier selinoid valve to each of the HUM terminals.

Q: I am planning to wire my single sub 400rms svc to my amplifier 400rms x 1 @4 ohms. My car model is 94 mitsubishi lancer. how many AWG ( gauge) should I use? Like for Power, ground, speaker wire. I just want to have the full potential of my sub and ampli.For my 2nd question: if I decided to put a 2nd sub wired it on the same amp making it 800rms x1 @ 2 ohms. (my amplifier is a class d mono 1600 watt peak by the way) should I need to use a capacitor?Thank you: biggest wire you can afford to power the amp...and dragon breath above drives aroud with headlights dimming every time the base hits...that is why we us caps..to keep large current draw from hitting the battery and alternator and dimming the lights....or dragon just don't have a system that will dim his head lights lol....sorry dragon just poking fun....but if i don't run caps my headlights look like strobe lights at night

Q: I have an old sewing machine without a plug that needs wiring up but it doesn't have the modern wire colours. There's one red wire and one yellow. Does anyone know how to do this?Thanks =]: The red one is the earth wire so should go in the right part by the fuse and the yellow one is neutrol so goes in the top middle bit :) Hope that helps
