Q: I am currently doing a guitar build and want to do the 21 tone jimmy page wiring style. I have a few questions. I can follow the diagram attached fairly well but am just confused on certain points. 1. for all the wires excluding the pickup wires, so the majority of the black wires, should those be hot wire or ground wire? I bought a wire back that has black ground wire and hot white wire and am confused on what to use when. 2. Specifically with the black wire coming from each pickup, once those go to a terminal on the pot the black wire that comes off of that joint is a connecting wire like in question 1, not a stretch of the pickup wire correct?3. When multiple wires come to a single solder joint should you tin the pot and then add one wire at a time to that spot or solder them all together and then to the pot?
Hello there, 1) Excluding pickups, black wire hot or ground? They use black for both in that diagram. I believe the only ground wires are all marked as ground in the diagram. A ground wire will run from the case of a pot to somewhere. To the ground side of the jack. To the bridge. To another pot. As for what you bought, I have no idea what you are trying to say. There is no difference in the wire itself that is used for ground or hot. You can use any wire (except bare) for either of those. 2) The black wire from the bridge pickup goes to a terminal of the switch on the push/pull bridge volume pot. You may solder the wire and continue the same wire down to the terminal of the switch on the push/pull tone pot. Or you can use another wire to connect those switches. The black wire from the neck pickup go to the middle terminal of the neck volume pot. Again, you may continue the wire from the pickup or solder in another wire to connect to the switch on the push/pull neck tone pot. 3). When I run ground wires to the case of a pot. I used separate solder joints. I do not wrap the wires together and then solder them as a group onto the pot. I have tried that and got bad connection on some of the wires. Best to solder ground wires separately. On a switch terminal where you have two wires coming to the same terminal, I try to solder both wires at the same time to the terminal. 4). All connections are soldered. Also, you should be aware that not all pickups have the same colored wires. You need to check the color code for the brand of pickups you are using. Seymour Duncan makes his diagrams based on using his pickups. If you use some other brand, the color of the pickup wires may be different. Seymour Duncan has a pickup wire color code chart on his web site. Later, Norm
Q: We added an AC to a preexisting sx 80 furnace and we are having a hard time wiring the new thermostat to the furnace, and the condensor to the furnace. Anyone know how to get a wiring diagram?? thanks
i could yet I certainly have some project's ! I Dont like your stance on Banning Cucumbers , nor do I know it !! What did they ever do to you ! heavily What could you do for a Klondike Bar ?! Get Tortured ..... LOL Oh and # 3 , properly that solves taking away the Senior electorate on the line ! Hmmm heavily Smallville what could CK have left to do Farm artwork( properly if doing it shirtless it would not be uninteresting ) ! I do like # 7 ! # 8 would not sound undesirable ! I imply truly what do they want all that money for in any case ! # 9 sounds good , i've got faith there are some extraterrestrial beings hiding in my associates Basement yet i want greater examine ! # 10 i do no longer desire to Punch them i want Fist Pump with them and get inebriated and then flow out to consume with them ! after shall we flow decrease back to there homestead and make exciting of the Grenades and communicate in regards to the lovable Guido's we'd desire to Smush ! different than for that I certainly have an argument with calling you King Pigtails once you look like Cindy Brady ! Thats purely incorrect !
Q: What method can be used to detect residual impurities and metal particles on the wire surface?
Remove metal surface impurities, refers to the removal of metal surface attached substances, such as cement, paint, spots and other materials that do not belong to the material itself.
Q: I have an old house and am replacing a dimmer switch in the kitchen. The old switch is has only 2 wires coming out of the switch that are both black. From the wall 2 wires connect to the 2 black wires on the switch, one is black which I have concluded is hot and the other is red, which must be the common wire. My question is that there is a 3rd wired that is pushed into the electrical box that is capped and not being used. This wire is white. I can only assume that would be a ground wire, but why would it be white in color. Can you tell me what the coloring scheme was for wiring old houses? Now I can connect the switch and use only the black and red wire, but would like to ground it properly if possible.
This Site Might Help You. RE: what do wire colors mean (old house)? I have an old house and am replacing a dimmer switch in the kitchen. Q: other than soldering and using a T-tap (wire tap), what are other common ways of connecting two wires together? Also, what does the following video say at the 1 minute 10 second mark? It's a something-set that helps to attach wires.
He has a crimp tool and various lugs that can be crimped. And that is another way to attach two wires, to crimp them together with the proper crimp tool and the proper (whatever it's called). .
Q: im installing a line out converter on my 2006 avalnche and i need to know which wires go to the right and left rear speakers so i can install it, do you know which is wire goes to where?

Q: I have two low voltage wires that run from one side of a building to another. The insulation on both wires is the same color. I eventually just walked an additional wire around the building and checked continuity. Is there an easier way to differentiate between the two wires?
Assuming that the two wires are unconnected at both ends. If it was a long way to walk, I'd probably just have connected one wire to earth (or an earth bonded item like a radiator) at the far end and checked for continuity to earth at the local end. A slightly more esoteric way would be to connect a diode between the wires at the remote end. A d.c. continuity check between the two wires at the local end would allow you to deduce which wire was connected to the anode and which to the cathode. A battery between the wires at the far end and a d.c. voltmeter at the local end would do much the same job in that it would tell you which wire was connected to positive! .
Q: A 41.7-kg sign is suspended by two wires, as the drawing shows. Wire 1 makes and angle of 42.2deg with the horizontal and wire 2 makes an angle of 58.8deg. Find the tension in wire 1 and wire 2.
To solve this, you have to find 2 equations, because there are 2 unknowns. Assume, Tension in wire 1 = T1 Vertical component of T1 = T1 sin42.2 Horizontal component of T1 = T1 cos42.2 Tension in wire 2 = T2 Vertical component of T2 = T2 sin58.8 Horizontal component of T2 = T2 cos58.8 Since the sign board is in equilibrium, the forces must balance each other. Horizontally, the horizontal components of both forces are balancing each other. Therefore, T2 cos58.8 = T1 cos42.2 T2 = (T1 cos42.2) / (cos58.8) -------------------(1) For the vertical components of the wire, both are balancing the weight of the sign. T1 sin42.2 + T2 sin58.8 = (41.7)(9.8) T1 sin42.2 + T2 sin58.8 = 408.66N ----------------(2) Combine (1) into (2), T1 sin42.2 + (T1 cos42.2)(sin58.8) / (cos58.8) = 408.66 T1 ( sin 42.2 + cos 42.2 tan 58.8) = 408.66 T1 = 215.66N Subst T1 = 215.66N into (1), T2 = (T1 cos42.2) / (cos58.8) = 308.4N Hope it is correct ^^
