Q: I'm trying to use a stereo wire instead of a mono wire for an output from a circuit I've built. The problem is, the gold wire has been cut too short, and I'd rather not strip it back any further since I don't have a lot of cord to work with. Since there are three wires (red, white, gold - ground) can I use either the red or the white as output, and the remaining color for ground, or do I have to use the gold cable for the ground and let the remaining wire dangle (taped)? Thanks
They're just wires - you can do what you want with them. You run the risk of forgetting that you've ignored the colour coding though!
Q: When was the hot-wire anemometer invented? and who was it?
Who Invented Anemometer
Q: i had a wired linksys router. can a linksys wireless network usb receive signal from the wired router.
If your Router is not a wireless router then deffinitely your Links wireless Usb Wouldn't work
Q: There are two switches – the left is for the fan, the right is for the light. They operate independently. I want to replace the light switch with one that has a motion sensor. There are four sets of bundled wires coming out of the back of the box. Each bundle has a white, a black, and a copper wire. Two black wires come out of each switch. The top wires go into two of the bundles in the back of the box, the bottom wires are connected with each other and with two more black wires coming out of the other two bundles coming out of the back of the box.All the white wires are twisted together with a red cap. All of the copper wires are twisted together with another red cap.My motion sensor has a red, black, green and yellow wire. The directions say the yellow wire is not used, because this is not a 3-way light. Is there a straightforward way to do this?
Sure is!. You wire it exactly the way the instructions say to. Which is to use the 2 wires on the existing switch. The bare wire on the switch (if present) is the ground and goes to the green. Just like the instructions say. You are apparently letting all those other wires scare you. The motion sensor is nothing more than an automatic switch. It does the same thing the existing switch does, using the exact same wires. Do Not touch any of the existing splices. Look again at the instructions. Take a deep breath and have at. I've been in control cabinets with Hundreds of wires in them. I ignored all but the ones I need to work on. Other wise I would still be there trying to figure it out! (chuckle)
Q: I need help hooking a remote wire to my jvc kd-g220.
The KD-G220 has only a blue/white remote output, and no true power antenna wire. If you have a power antenna, then you'll want to connect both the antenna wire from the harness and the amp's remote wire to the blue/white wire from the head unit. You don't really need any kind of adapter; just crimp or solder all three wires together. The head unit should be able to activate the amplifier and the power antenna from the same output without a problem. Electhrolite, I'm not sure how old the head units are that you've worked with, but any modern head unit's remote output is designed specifically to maintain the remote voltage for as long as the head unit is switched on. Keep in mind that the current draw on most amplifiers' remote terminal is less than .05 amps. There's no need to connect to an accessory power wire instead.
Q: ok i bought a cd player off of OKorder a couple weeks ago and i decided to save the money and do it myself, but me and my friends didnt get a connector for it so we decided to go old school and wire every wire, and now the problem is we dont know what wire goes with what. so i need a accurate wiring diagram of a 2002 v6 hyundai sonata, (car wires first) i hook the black with black for ground, orange with yellow for battery( which there is two oranges so i tried both and together) and yellow with red for accessory just to see if the cd player will turn on and it doesnt, so i need some help pretty bad, and i have checked the fuses ( audio one) any answer will be greatly appreciated,

Q: Ok I've been changing the old outlets in the house and all of them were fine until I got to this 1 outlet. The outlet had 1 ground wire, 2 white and 2 black (if that helps). The wires were a little chewed up looking so when I went to wrap the upper white wire to its screw it broke and now the wire won't reach the screw and certain lights in the house won't turn on because of it. I probably should have left it alone because of the condition of the wires but its too late now so how do I go about getting the wire to reach its screw ? Thanks
using a wire nut just get the same size wire cut it about 4 inches long and make whats called a pig tail use the wire nut to connect the new wire to the short one its most likley a 14/2 wire if its on a 15 amp breaker if its on a 20/amp you should use a 12/2 wire
Q: I need a little help wiring my ceiling fan.Coming from the ceiling:2 green wiresground wirewhite wireblack wirered wireComing from fan:green wireblue wireblack wirewhite wireCan anyone please explain what wires to connect to what.
I installed 3 ceiling light fan combos last yr. I too was perplexed and it took me longer to do than an electrician. I can only recommend that you closely follow the directions that came with you setup. The Chinese directions are not much help, but they may help. Good luck!
Q: Hey I have a standard Epiphone Les Paul, and I just bought some brand new Burstbucker pickups online. The one's I bought haven't arrived yet but in the picture, it looks like there is only 1 wire coming out of each pickup. When I take my wire cover off, i can see 1 wire comes out, but it's really 2 wires insulated to look like 1. What can I do so that I can put these expensive pickups in my guitar??
Are you experienced in this sorta section? i might quite advise that in case you comprehend somebody who can try this sorta stuff no difficulty, ask them to take you thru it step with the aid of step.. although the mixture sounds good although, I fairly like the sound of that..good success and satisfied playing :)
Q: plzzz let me knw tis !! GRADE 10 PHYSICS- importance of live wires neutral wires !!!!!!!!!!
These two wires provide the voltage difference (called potential difference) that is responsible for driving the current through an appliance. Live and neutral are terms most commonly use with mains electrical supply .. they are equivalent to + (live) and - used with batteries and other DC sources. The live wire is at the higher voltage (most dangerous) and the neutral is usually close to ground voltage (0 V). Both wires together form the complete circuit required for the current .. from the supply (through the live wire) to the appliance and back to the supply (through the neutral wire). In a mains circuit a switch is always connected into the live wire so that the high voltage is disconnected from the appliance. A switch connected in the neutral wire prevents the appliance from working (so it appears to be off) because there is a break in the circuit .. but the high voltage is still connected to the appliance which may be dangerous. For the greatest safety a switch should disconnect both live and neutral wires at the same time.
