- Q: Be shampooed like other carpets or does it have to be cleaned another way? My wife thinks it has to be steam cleaned.
- Shampooing carpet is old terminology, dating to the 60's and 70's. The modern process HWE, hot water extraction is the process endorsed by all of the carpet mills today. Steam is another way to say hot water, as the carpet will steam when the door is partially open during cold weather, while the cleaning process takes place. Berber carpets most often are Olefin carpet, or also called polyproplene, can be hot water extracted with special attention towards the vacuum/extraction process. Any moisture left in the carpet will migrate/wick to the surface during the drying process,along with residual soil/dirt found deep in the carpet. These wick-ups will tend to stain the very top side of the carpet and they may have to be rinsed back off by the pro, providing they do not easily wipe off with a damp cloth. Many professional carpet cleaners would prefer not to clean Olefin, if they had a choice. Pro carpet cleaners prefer the more popular Nylon Carpets.
- Q: cleaning the carpet
- Add 1/2 cup of bleach for unbleachables to your carpet detergent. Add fleecy to the rinse water, it helps repel dirt. The bleach adds a boost to the detergent. If you don't want to pay as much for the detergent, ammonia (non-sudsy) works pretty good. If you are buying a shampooer the bissel canister is the one that was recommended to me. I find it pretty good.

- Persia is the most famous country for rugs. But, the orient is the most favorable for wall habging. Try china or Taiwan for nice cheap wall rugs. Persian rugs as I have said are the best, but costly.

- Hi There is two ways to remove wax from carpet. 1/ Use the edge of a butter knife to carefully scrape off or lift up as much solid wax as you can .Use a dry clean white terrycloth place it over the wax spot then heat it with a iron on low setting because most homes have polyester carpet, and if the iron gets too hot, it'll melt the carpet. Keep checking the spot every ten seconds or so, moving the terrycloth so that a clean spot is on the carpet. 2/ Which is the better way. Use the edge of a butter knife to carefully scrape off or lift up as much solid wax as you can Heat up a full kettle of water and pour it slowly on the carpet at the same time with a wet vac vacuum up the water. - Q: i put a very hot pot on a carpet
- first off , WHY ?? , you need to have some of the same carpet , cut out the bad carpet ( you need to cut it out between the row's ) then do the same with the piece that you are going to put in ( make sure that it's the same size ) then silicone the edges on both pieces and let it dry , next put double face tape down on top of the pad ( if glued down skip this step ) then you need to use seam glue on all edges , next carefully put in the new piece and roll it with a tractor (carpet tool ) then set something heavy on top of it and let it dry over night and roll it with the tractor again.
- Q: when every i take my cover off my horse it lets of static electric zaps. (you know like if you shuffle along the floor then tap some one and it lets of this zap) but its not small zaps they are very loud, you can hear them crackle from meters away if you move the cover, but they are also EXTREMELY painful!! (It left me with welts all up my arms!) i can hardly hold it because of this (it only dose it when i take it off) and im starting to worry if it may be hurting my horse as well as me, So how can i stop this? - Q: We are currently in a rental and our dogs chewed up some of our carpet. The carpet is berber and we have left over carpet in storage from when it was installed. One chewed up piece is in a corner and the other is a long rectangle area maybe 2 feet long by 7 or 8 inches wide. That area that is chewed up is in the middle of the carpet.
