Q: Can I use a fabric dye (RIT), and just paint it on the 3quot; wide border? Want to change from present light blue to dark brown.jackie
I have worked with Rit dyes quite frequently and although they are good dies for natural fibers, I am not sure painting a boarder will net the results you desire. First of all, the dye has to be mixed with salt. Because you will not be able to rinse and spin the dye out of he rug, that salt will just remain in your rug when the dye has dried. This may leave salt crystals in your rug along with making it quite stiff. And,because the dye is wet, it will certainly bleed outside of the boarders of the rug. Another problem is the dye bleeding onto the floor causing permanent damage. Even if you can jump over these obstacles, the dye will remain in the rug, full strength because it can not be rinsed and spun out, so it can easily transfer the color from the rug to your shoes to other areas of the house. And, heaven forbid, if the rug gets wet at a later date it will reactivate the dye and boy I will hear you cursing from here. So, you see, using this type of dying process is really full of challenges and there is too much to go wrong so I do not think it is worth the risk. However, there may be other dyes I am unaware of. Do an internet search on dyes and also rug dying to get some helpful hints and possible products that will net you the results you are after. I have lots of resources that I will check on and edit my answer if I get more information.
Q: I just bought a wool area rug (2' x 3'). It doesn't look good where I wanted to put it. Could I put it in a small powder room? Also, would it look good to use a large wool area rug over burbur carpet?
Yes, you could put it in a powder room or use it for an entryway door. I used a persian rug over my berber rug under a coffee table to add more color to the room. They put oriental rugs over carpet all the time. It looks good too.
Q: I left for a few weeks and left my friend at my house. She brought her dog and cat.I have no money. And my carpet is ruined (along with my coach lol).Any tips on how to clean carpets (with no carpet cleaning machine)?HELP PLZ.
It'd help to know what exactly is in your carpet - do the hairs bother you or has it been peed on - or worse!? For hair, the best thing I've ever tried is scraping carpet with a rubber-soled shoe. Once you've done a bit the hair all clumps together and can be picked off by hand - not as much hassle as it sounds! For pee you'll have to wash it, which is a hassle without a proper wet vac. First check if any friends or family have one you can borrow, or if there are any companies nearby which will hire one out to you. If not, try using something like Shake 'n' Vac, which is a powder that you sprinkle on the carpet and then hoover off with a conventional vaccum cleaner. If you're still really desperate then you'll have to get a big bucket of warm soapy water, scrub it in with a big scrubbing brush, put a dry towel on it and stomp around on it to pull as much of the water back out of it as you can, then wait a very long time for it to dry out again completely. This is a massive pain in the a*se though, so try the other methods first and maybe stick to just washing any really bad bits with water if you have to!
Q: Ok my dinning room table measures 60cm x 40cm how many inches of area rug would i buy to fit and have some space left?is this one way too big 63inches x 94 inches?thanks all.
There are many nice machine made rugs that are not very expensive. You can find them at department stores, which often have sales, and home improvement stores -- which are good ones for high traffic areas. Hand made ones will be more expensive, it's all in how much you can afford.
Q: i am looking into the future and looking at what i need to buy for a horse *so i can save up enough*right now i'm looking at rugs and saddles.. i have been looking on the horseland website (sells all horse stuff for outside aussies)and i have noticed that some saddles range from $300 - $800 *could never afford one over $1000* ... there doesnt seem to be much difference between them both...
Your link just goes to the main menu page so I didn't get to see which saddle you were asking about. Basically a good saddle, if looked after will probably outlast you ! Rugs can be complicated, I don't know what sort of weather you get but here in the UK my horses are out for most of the time ( they only come in a night in the worst part of winter and they don't like that much either !) I have full neck rugs for really nasty cold time and ones without necks for when it's just normal winter weather. They don't wear any rug during the summer as a rule but if it rains for long periods ( as it has this year) I put the lighter neckless rugs on them. If it got sweaty during riding in winter then towelling dry is a good idea and you can also get a cooler rug - this acts like a string vest and stops the horse getting chilled while he's cooling down. As your horse would be going straight back into the field it would be best to cool him down on the way back from your ride so he doesn't get home so sweaty. You can't just go throwing thick rugs on sweaty horses so you would need to walk him round in a cooler to get him dried off first. If this turned out to be a problem with you spending ages cooling him down you could get him clipped which would stop him getting soaked but then you would need a really good rug to make up for the lack of winter coat.
Q: My puppy ate up a 1 by 1 inch square on my very old furry carpet. Will this harm him?He is a 21 week old shiba inu.
Nothing in the carpet should be harmful to him, but the carpet being in him could potentially be harmful. Depending on how much and how big of chunks he ate, it could cause a gastrointestinal blockage. Additionally, if the carpet is stiff with any sharp edges (like on the bottom) it could potentially perforate internal organs as it digests. He may pass it on his own, but keep an eye on him. If he displays any sensitivity to touch to his belly, vomiting, unwillingness to eat or constipation, take him to the vet. I would also monitor his stool closely. First, make sure he's going regularly. Second, check the stool for fibers or pieces of the carpet to see if it's passed.
Q: im looking for one of those nice shag throw rugs for my livingroom, what are the best ones? id like a really soft, silky type. anyone have any suggestions? thanks
Malignant Mesothelioma is an uncommon form of cancer that occurs within the body at a section called the Mesothelium. Mesothelioma is known to be divided into the three main categories of Pleural Mesothelioma (70% of all Mesothelioma cases), Peritoneal Mesothelioma, and Pericardial Mesothelioma. Mesothelioma can affect workers working in Abestos mills, or just from being at a place constructed with traces of Abestos and other toxic substances within the materials used to construct the area someone is in. Often times, those diagnosed with Mesothelioma have no clue that they have been exposed to the cancer causing substance usually until years later when the symptoms caused by Mesothelioma begin to emerge. Mesothelioma is a horrible case, but with the right type of Mesothelioma attorney/laywer, one can be entitled to anywhere from thousands to even millions of dollars in damages. Mesothelioma treatment options can be discussed with your physician. The treatment options for mesothelioma is often on the pricey side, and that is where attorneys can help you get payment help from employers that may have caused your Mesothelioma. Through Mesothelioma lawsuits, many are able to be compensated a substantial amount, sometimes even in the millions.

Q: How do you get nail polish out of carpet?
Find a really good nail polish remover and use that. If that doesn't work then use rubbing alcohol, and if that still doesn't get the stain out, then find a carpet cleaner that removes harsh stains. Good luck!
