- Q: I need these values for 400 KVa and 150 KVa plants in order to run an air pollution computer simulation. Thanks!. Volumetric flow is not useful for me,because i don't have any information about flow areas or diameters.
- This is a difficult question to answer accurately. The velocity of the exhaust gas is highly dependent on the size of the exhaust pipe. A smaller exhaust pipe, a much higher velocity --- a larger exhaust pipe, a much slower exhaust gas velocity. A 2 exhaust pipe would have about 2.25 times the velocity of a 3 pipe. The exhaust velocity is highly dependent as well on the RPM of the generator. Double the RPM, and there is much higher pressure, and much higher exhaust gas velocity. An attached article mentions that the exhaust velocity in some unspecified gasoline powered car --- and at some unspecified RPM --- is about 240 to 260 feet per second. autolounge /tech/exhaust.html
- Q: I heard about the reactor and could someone tell me the story and what could happen thx.
- I really like how you spelled nuclear
- Q: Diesel generator BOC alarm is what
- Measures: replace the cylinder pad, adjust the pressure relief mechanism.
- Q: I am planning to buy a 20 KVA Diesel Generator. Both the vendors are confusing me over Air cooled and Liquid cooled engines. Can anyone help me to understand the pros and cons of the said engines for a commercial requirement.
- At 20 KVA I'm thinking the air cooled set is using a Deutz, Want some advice? Avoid it like the plague! First off there noisy, and if you don't like replacing timing belts and head gaskets these are not the engines for you, As a heavy diesel equipment mechanic I seriously hate these engines, Lucky for me the outfit I work for now wont buy any piece of equipment equipped with a Deutz engine, So do yourself a favor and find a Genset with a Kubota or Isuzu in it, there not dumb enough to use an air cooled design, actually just buy a Multiquip and save yourself the headaches and repair bills.
- Q: I am considering buying a back-up generator system for my newly bought home, the only problem is that my home is 4,947sq. ft, and I seem to find a single generator that is capable of powering my entire, will buying a few portable or large sized stand-by generators solve my problem?
- If you are looking for an emergency generator capable of delivering 200A @ 240V, single-phase current (a typical whole-house size), you will be specifying a significantly large unit, something the size of a large refrigerator (on its side). If that sort of total capacity is what you want, go for it. The incremental costs for larger units is very roughly proportionate, so a unit of twice the capacity will be very roughly twice the cost. Keep in mind that these systems must be maintained properly and tested (at least monthly) regularly. If you choose a liquid-fuel model (diesel or gasoline) there is the storage and treatment issue for the tank and the fuel in it. And, as you increase size you increase fuel consumption significantly. Typically, such generators are connected only to critical systems via the transfer-switch. So, your key systems feed directly to the transfer-switch such that when there is a power failure and the generator kicks in, the transfer switch isolates those key systems from the rest of the load. In this way you could reduce your requirements to things like refrigeration, lighting, even AC and computers, leaving out items such as hot-tubs and similar. Determine your anticipated load for key items, add perhaps 25% as a safety margin and look around that capacity. MAKE SURE that you have the system - especially the transfer switch and its load - professionally installed. A mistake there could fry both your entire house system and all things attached to it, the generator, *and* get you a massive fine from your Utility. Don't mess with this.
- Q: I don't see why I couldn't use my car's engine as a power generator. I would only need maybe 1000 watts. The car is a 1990 Ford F350 diesel.
- you cant its too big. its a waste time u are better off selling the engine in the paper to buy a power generator
- Q: hi , can anyone give me the DG a,b,c,d checks details and schedule like a chart or something
- Hi It is the same as a gas engine to maintain. Except for the fuel has to be water free. There will be a bowl some where to empty the water. Changing the oil etc. depends on how much you use it.
- Q: Diesel generator belongs to special equipment
- Special equipment refers to the safety of life, greater risk of boilers, pressure vessels
- Q: here's the thing.Imagine that I have a generator that uses diesel as the fuel. then consider following two cases.Case 1 - using one 1kW bulb for one hourCase 2 - using ten 100W bulbs for one hourI know both cases consume a same amount of power that is 1kWH.but I THINK the demand (which is measured in kVA or just kW) is higher in the second case. (is it??)so my question is that, does the generator burn a same amount of fuel at both the cases regardless of higher demand in second case?? and I'd much obliged if you can say how??
- Same power, same usage (with very slight increased wiring losses with 10 bulbs) 1 KWH is 1 KWH no matter how it is used.
- Q: A concert is in the works to raise money to help save the Everglades in Florida. I am looking to get as many people interested in the cause as possible. So what would make you want to go to this concert? Bands, the host, food, activities, location, day/night, etc.
- Mosquito repellant. Lots of Mosquito repellant. And Port-a-Johns. You'll need those. And refrigerated tents and generators diesel generators and lighting, nobody wants to be out there in the sun and giant bug zappers to kill all the insects the lights will attract you'll need lots of trash dumpsters, if you're expecting a crowd you'll want constant and regular trash pick-up. lots of insects people don't like insects and won't tolerate them after paying $55 for a can't see seat, $12 for parking, $22 for a t-shirt and $5.50 for a watery Coke with no lid to keep out the freekin' bugs. Um, how are you planning to have an environmentally-friendly event in the Everglades when the only way to have it be a success is to do things that are bad for the Everglades environment?
