WHY don't we have a car right now in 2010 that gets 100+ mpg?Ok we have the Honda Insight and Toyota Prius that get 50MPG+ WELL why not DOUBLE or TRIPLE or QUADRUPLE the Batteries and get 100MPG??? Seriously WHY NOT PACK Enough Lithium Ion batteries in there to get 300MPG?? You mean to tell me that with all the technology we have today in 2010 that we can't come up with a Hybrid that gets 100MPG??? Larger battery packs do not improve the fuel efficiency of a hybrid. The batteries are used as the electrical equivalent of springs. There are some important limitations on the number of miles per gallon any car can get in the real world. And as to your first question: you can not build an HHO generator because there is no such thing as HHO gas. When you perform electrolysis on water (regardless of whether you use straight DC or pulsed DC), all that you get is a mix of H2 and O2. This mythical HHO gas they're talking about simpy dos not exist because unless they're in a plasma (ultra-high temperature), hydrogen atoms immediately bond to form a hydrogen molecule (H2). So there is *no* magic HHO gas, just a mixture of hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O2) molecules in a 2:1 ratio. What's more, since only a tiny amount of this gas can be generated using the avaiable electrical energy your car's alternator can deliver, it does *nothing* to improve your fuel efficiency and in fact will *reduce* the efficiency. Now just sit back and watch the scammers try to tell you otherwise and refer you to their websites so they can make some money out of you. :-) Please tell your friends and family about this scam so they don't get conned too.

Q: I have a 4 piston Diesel engine on my generator, I have a nasty oil sludge continue to build up every time, I have flushed the engine with engine flush liqui-moly probably six times, but after it is clean the sludge builds up again in couple of days, I got sick and tired of going down there and get all messed up with nasty oil.The engine produces while smoke continuously, not much but visible enough. I get oil coming onto the air filter, the place smells nasty because of this. The light bulbs flicker when running on the generator, it heats up fast and shuts off when I put load on it as an AC. Can someone please help me out and let me know what to do?
I forgot to mention that, the coolant level is stable, I have changed it already and all is fine is that area. I have done today a cleaning job, I mixed 3 liters of fresh engine oil with 2 liters of diesel, and poured it into the engine, ran it for 5 minutes and drained it, repeated that 3 times with fresh oil and diesel every time, I got loads of crab coming out till I finally got semi-pure liquid, then poured 5 liters of fresh oil with new oil filter, and then ran the generator and put load on it, no major change apart from no more flickering lights, white smoke still coming out and can not say if it less than before. If this does not hold water, I am going to take it to the shop. That is that.

the injection systems only variable is for the control of rpms during operation. during the start up process rpms are less than operation. yet the system delivers the same amount of fuel as the lowest setting. the fuel system, much like any other machine, is a constant. feed rate and pipe i.d. do not change magically. to throw in more fuel than the cyclinder can take would be destructive. variances can occur during hard starting situations (cold climates). this is the same as the choke on a car. diesels do not have this as they employ whats known as glow plugs which are essentially little plugs inside the cyclinders that preheat the chambers making it easier to start. since locomotives do not use this technique, this is why you will see them idling when not being used in a cold environment. in essence, its a royal b***h to start one when cold. never the less, to accurately know the fuel consumption rate (gph) at start up, you will have to contact the manufacturer to see if these figures are available. highly unlikely they would have these figures as opposed to actual operational gph which is where the do their testing.

Water cooled is hydrolic obviously and it don't really go faster depends what horse power the engine or motor is. Air cooled is just your basic diesal that need a spark to start and needs air to cool down.
Q: As the generator is for emergency, so it stopped for long time and only run for preventive maintenance, so its not accomulate running time, what is the standard to evaluate the need for maintenance ?
First make sure the fuel is fresh periodically. Old fuel deteriorates makes it hard it start and run. Second check the oil see if it is clean, check the oil filter too. Third check the fuel filter, change once a year if not used because of bad / old fuel. Forth Check the out put of the engine / voltage / oil pressure / amperage / operating temperature / current fuses / transfer switches are working properly. Listen and make sure the engine is running smooth, no misses. Should be good to go then.

I think you mean diesel-electric generator. Properly, a diesel generator is a factory that makes diesel fuel. And the parts (at a high level, as there are thousands of parts total) are a diesel engine, plus fuel tank. an electric generator or alternator and electronic and mechanical controls to adjust the engine and generator so that it outputs the required voltage and frequency as the load changes.
Q: China Diesel older generator. Hasn't been used for years, however, supposedly started biannually. Someone messed with the wiring. rewired much of the controls and all meters appear to be working. Have 240V no load, when applying a load to one leg, the 120V drops to 0V. Suspect the exciter not working. located the the 4 Stator cables and 2 smaller wires coming from generator. Suspect the 2 smaller are the excitation wires. According to the poorly edited Chinese to English manual. I have no idea which is F+ or F- and how important will it be to get this correct when applying the 12V as suggested in the trouble shooting guide??
