Q:Hi, i have a peugeot diesel conected to an 8kw alternator via a lay shaft engine 2275rpm alt 1500rpm at 2250rpm engine produces max torque 70lb ft, alt should only need 33lb ft. under heavy load engine allmost stalls. I think i need avr control? Can you help with advice and componants? Many thanks Andre: I'm not sure what an AVR is but you need some sort of governor to compensate for the increased load. it could be mechanical or electronic. depending on the engine configuration

If they are operational, they produce more than enough power for the cooling system. A competing technology called liquid flouride thorium reactors could not melt down, could not explode, could not leak, shuts down safely if cooling power is lost, stays shutdown safely without power, and consumes existing nuclear waste reducing the nuclear wastes to a small amount that only needs to be stored for 350 years instead of the current 30,000 years. The military had no need for it, the government didn't want it because it did not employ an army of technicians, the reactor manufacturers didn't want it as it did not have proprietary nuclear fuel rods.

For example, pushing or pulling the handle of a wrench connected to a nut or bolt produces a torque (turning force) that loosens or tightens the nut or bolt. Also the higher the RPM the hard the generator has to work to get to 400hp so your 13L at 3600 RPM would produce around 750 Hp

An AC motor is less likely to work, in normal operation the magnetic field that makes an AC motor work is produced by the electricity going into it, so if no power is going into it there is no magnetic filed to make it act as a generator, actually there might be a little stray magnetism or there are methods of getting it started with a pulse of external power, but the PM DC motor will be easiest .
