Q: A stuntman drives a car (without negative lift) over the top of a hill, the cross section of which can be approximated by a circle of radius R 227 m. What is the greatest speed at which he can drive without the car leaving the road at the top of the hill?
I am a heretic. Purists say there is no such thing as centrifugal force. There is, you just introduce a Rotating Frame of Reference. Because: A rotating reference frame can have advantages over an inertial reference frame.[15][4] Sometimes the calculations are simpler (an example is inertial circles), and sometimes the intuitive picture coincides more closely with the rotational frame (an example is sedimentation in a centrifuge). By treating the extra acceleration terms due to the rotation of the frame as if they were forces, subtracting them from the physical forces, it's possible to treat the second time derivative of position (relative to the rotating frame) as if it was the absolute acceleration. Thus the analysis using Newton's law can proceed as if the reference frame was inertial, provided the fictitious force terms are included in the sum of forces. For example, centrifugal force is used in the FAA pilot's manual in describing turns.[16] Other examples are such systems as planets, centrifuges, carousels, turning cars, spinning buckets, and rotating space stations. So draw the picture. Centrifugal Force up Gravity down Fdown M*9.8 m/s^2 Force up M *(v^2/r) M*9.8 M*(V^2/r) Cancel the M 9.8 V^2/227 GO
Q: In my last question I needed to know the name of the rolling bed that mechanics lay on to go under cars.. i now know its a creeper... so jerk insulted me and called me cheap for not getting my bf "the whole lift" the idiot didnt know that I have no idea about cars and i wasnt aware that there is more to this... so my questions now is... what is included in "the whole lift"? a creeper and what else?
that guys a moron. a creeper is not a part of a car lift. if you want, you can do what the last person said on your other question & get jack stands for him, if he doesn't have them. or a hydraulic jack, or some ramps to drive the car up onto. basically anything to help him get under the car easier
Q: If the lift is used for many years, how should it be evaluated for its existing value?
The lifespan of the lifter is generally eight years, because its use environment and work intensity are greater than the general machinery and equipment, so the normal depreciation rate is generally 15% / year, taking into account the actual maintenance level, frequency of use, the use of strength and The level of the manufacturer, the import machine should be set at 10%, domestic machine 20%
Q: I have a beetle turbo with a retractable spoiler and a wing spoiler. I heard that having 2 spoilers is unsafe because it lifts the car going over 80mph. Is this true?
VW installed the retractable spoiler for a good reason. A manufacturer does not spend ResearchDevelopment $$ unless it is necessary. VW did preliminary wind tunnel tests and deemed it necessary that the NB would benefit from a rear mounted spoiler. Yes, a rear mounted spoiler will incrementally lift the front. But its primary purpose is to keep the rear firmly planted! You need not fret abt. the front lifting up! The NB has fully 70% of its weight up front. This information is based on ONE spoiler. The Factory designed only one! I honestly don t know what 2 spoilers would do to the aerodynamics of the car. I have never heard of a NB with 2 spoilers. Why would anyone add another? The engineers at VW only designed it with one retractable . For safety's sake, IMO I would remove the extra spoiler before leaving for LA. I trust VW engineers but not somebody else just arbitrarily adding something to a car.
Q: When Gohan was training with the Z sword, Goku threw huge rocks at them, what do you think it can compare to for us, what it‘s like to them to carry it?A piece of paper?A small rock?or what? Same for cars with them.
you don,t have to bleed the brakes if all you did was change the pads. the only time you have to bleed brakes is if you change the calipers, a wheel cylinder, a line, a hose or master cylinder. just changing pads won,t let any air in the lines.
Q: Does lift effect how a car rides?
Most definitely, some sports cars even have aerodynamic qualities that force them onto the road so they don't lift off the ground
Q: I have a 1997 Ford Explorer and I was told that my valve needed a new lift. I was told that, but was not told what it was. I was told that without the lift for the valve I can still drive the car problem free, but that I should get it taken care of sooner or later. Is there a mechanic in the Yahoo galaxy that can give me some insight? Thanks.
Ok, I assume they told you you needed a new valve lifter! This should not be big deal if they know what they are doing! Valve lifters are in contact with camshaft, and push pushrods up to push rocker arm, - which pushes valve down and open! sIt requires removing the intake manifold and taking out lifter and putting in new one, -- I think it is possible that there is a tool that may actually be able to reach down inside (with valve cover removed)-and pull it out -- after pushrod is removed! I have seen or used these on other engines before, but it depends on what engine you have , -- you might even have an engine with overhead camshaft, in which case it is easy to get to as it is on head!
Q: i have an 86 cutlass supreme (it used to have airbag suspension) i just put in a set of springs and shocks, and it sits a lil too low if i hit a dip my tires start to rub, what is the best or easiest way to get about 1 inch of lift in front and back
Install air shocks. We tend to see a need for a 3 to 5 inch lift to clear 22's on most cars. For 24's, you may need up to a 13 lift to clear with no cutting and a full turning radius. For 26's and larger you almost always need a minimum 13 kit.
