Q: i just bought a 2001 ford explorer sport and i needed shocks so i bought those. i was planning on getting it lifted but i dont understand how lift kits work....also can i have shocks and a lift kit on the suv at the same time?
There are two types of lift kits. Body lift and frame lift. Body lift as implied just lifts the body off of the frame. It contains blocks and longer bolts that are inserted where the body mounts to the frame go and create a higher profile for the body. There are some things that may need changed during this kind of lift such as the steering link, radiator mounting and fuel lines. This is for frame type vehicles and won't apply to 'unibody vehicles. Frame lift is the most common. This is done to add clearance under the vehicle so you don't get hung up when four wheeling. This is usually accomplished by Kits that contain blocks and U bolts that lift the rear axle and A frame parts and longer struts or springs in the front. The shocks have to be changed to longer ones as you are creating more space between the axle and frame with a lift kit. Another thing that needs done is that the tilt of the axles has to point at the transfer case as not to cause damage to the U joints in the drive lines. Also the alignment has to be corrected to adjust for the lift parts. The torque arm may need changed too or may just come with the kit. Most people that are trying to add clearance will put over sized tires on to add clearance between the axle and ground. You can go over larger items such as rocks and trees without hitting on the under side of the vehicle.
Q: I not an expert on arrow dynamics, but I really want to know if you put a wing on your car, will say mounted centered on your cars balance point. Lets say this wing wasn‘t like those ricers trying to produce down force so there civic doesn‘t fly off the highway, but a wing that produced lift, this could improve the gas mileage of your car. I‘m thinking it could even be mechanical in some way providing various amounts of lift, but on the highway you could make a 3000lb car drive like it was 2000lbs. That‘s a big *** difference, i just don‘t know how crazy drag would be on the wing itself, but I was just reading about something called the tube plane, a large percentage of its lift was created with the main body of the plane, technology is a far larger market than oil, driving around in vehicles shaped like bricks isn‘t helping MPG‘s. Any comments
Lighter cars don't necessarily get better mileage. Well engineered cars get better mileage. Lift would be a lack of traction which is loss of control. Wings are designed to produce down force to combat loss of traction at high speeds due to lift. Wings on ricers are a whole different subject, decoration.
Q: i was wondering if i can use the motorcycle lift on a car. i was planning to lift the front of the car and repair small jobss like brakes, struts, oil change ect ect. please let me know thanx
Motorcycle lifts aren't designed for the weight. Get some wheel stands or axle stands for the car.
Q: Four-wheel positioning dedicated scissors lift what brand is good
Now the market four-wheel positioning brand is very complex, we must choose a good quality point, and done accurate. The price of course, have to consider, now the car after the market, four rounds of the brand a lot, like Miller, Keao, Li Ge, can, cost-effective, after-sales service is also good, the last car will not be transferred, technical staff Came to deal with, and do not come out of the car deviation. Specific reference can be consulted. 18665423308 Manager Zhang, his shop called billion into the car in Foshan Nanhai District, you can go and see!
Q: This is my first jeep and the first car that i am lifting and have a couple of questions. I have a 1995 Jeep wrangler rio grande manual trans. i bought two inch shackles and want to put on a one inch body lift I am not sure if a need a pitman drop or a transfer case drop. can someone explain to me what i have to do besides just a lift. Thank you
First of all the shackle lift will cause your spring to wear out prematurely. Second, with a one inch body lift you shouldn't run into many obstacle, you may have to do a little trimming around the shifter boot and around the clutch linkage to get everything to line up right. You will not have to get a longer pitman arm if you decide to use the shackles. Typically a longer pitman arm is needed for 3 inches and over. I would strongly urge you to return the body lift and the shackles and save your money up for a full suspension lift. Oh, and you will not need a transfer case drop either because the angle of the axle will change with the one sided shackle lift enough to compensate for the lift (kind of like a see-saw effect). If you do the shackles, replacing your bushings isn't a bad idea either along with some new heavier duty bolts, because the shackles will tend to have more side to side movement now and if you turn hard and then take off hard it will tend to break the standard bolts.
Q: Two cars are lifted to the same elevation in a service station If one car is twice as massive as the other, how do their potential energies compare
Potential energy PE mgh, where m is the mass of the object, g is the acceleration due to gravity, and h is the height to which the object is lifted. PE (car 1) mgh PE (car 2) m'gh (2m)gh2mgh Therefore, the potential energy of the second car (the one that is twice as massive) is twice that of the first car.
Q: I have a little mercury capri convertible and I think it would be AWESOME if I could put hydraulic lifts in it. I was wondering if that was even possible?
If you're willing to spend enough money anythings possible.
Q: Is there a rc car that can go at least 20 mph and have a decent lift off the ground for 120 dollors?
Go on Ebay and get a nitro car for around $80 Plus a starter and fuel. They run 80 mph
Q: will they rub or do i have to lift the car
1. You'll look like you belong in a lil wayne music video 2. You'll ride quality will be down graded. 3. Are you black? 4. In order to look like a complete disgrace to the car culture/ look black you'll also need: 1. stock brakes 2. a bad engine 3. lift your nova to put 28ers on it 4. A GTR emblem off a Skyline 5. A UZI, so you can shoot rival gangs(any gun will do, but the lack of accuracy of the uzi will guarantee more civilian casualties) 6. Hydraulics 7. A sound system worth 4-5 times the actual value of your car 8. And if your not BLACK all ready, some black latex paint 9. Also start driving with your seat back, radio on really loud, and one hand on the wheel and your other on a prostitute
