Q:Ok so I jacked my car up at the wrong spot.right behind the driver side rear tire. It held for awhile then when we came back the rear tire is out of arraignment and one of the bars that run from the tire to about middle of my car is bent. What do I do? We don‘t know what the bar is called, but can tell it can we replaced as it is connected by a bolt at the tire and connected by a bolt in the middle. The bar is probably 2-3 feet long. Please don‘t harass me about it.I know I did it wrong nothing to do about it now other than fix it. My dad and some friends are all willing to help fix it so I won‘t mess it up! Please any help would be great
it doesn't matter what make the car is, if it messed up your rear alignment because something bent it has to be called a lower control arm,as far as I am concerned, its nothing major, what I would do is locate a used one, it would be half the cost, replace it, then go to an alignment shop and get an all wheel alignment, this is very important because it will wear out that tire in no time if the alignment isn't correct, from now on when you lift your car lift it from behind the front tires and in front of the rear tires, right on the frame rails Good Luck Youngsta!
Q:Hey, I wanna lift my 02 Galant by 3 to 4 inches and wanna give it new wheels.Gat any suggestions on brand types? Do I need ‘lifters‘ (If that‘s what you call it) for such a small change. Would I need to buy new parts because I wanna check prices etc. Also, with changing wheels, I don‘t want anything flashy or huge, just a bit wider profiles. Suggestions, comments welcomed. Thanks
Yes, that's microwave safe along with glass! RoyS- it one of those microwaves where you can set the temperature and the time- I have one. :)
Q:I have a pair of Double Diamond subframe connectors for my 02 Trans Am and I need to get them welded onto the underbody of the car. Do muffler shops perform these types of services?. Also the car lift used has to be a drive on lift, NOT a frame off lift- where all 4 tires are hanging and the car if supported from the center.
could be better of finding a race shop to do it for you. i have allways done my own but supporting the car at all four corners on jack stands. laying on your back and welding sucks
Q:lift or speed!?
If you mean lifted as in dune runner then I'd get that because I already have a fast car.if you mean lifted as in 6 inches on an excursion/something that can't go offroad then get the car. Plus.if you don't want to get 15 mpg and can't afford the gas pretty much you should go with the car.
Q:Friend has a brand new 08 sileradohe wants to get a 4in lift just because it looks cool. his car is 2wd and he has no intention off offroading in it what so ever. dosent a lift hurt gas milage and sometimes cancel warranty. also what price range is a 4in lift in
Fora 4 lift in a 2 wd truck is going to cost well over $1000 its not like a 4wd were all you need is lift blocks and a drop down pitman arm in 2wd trucks you need the blocks for the rear as well as a whole slue of front suspension components like new front spindles a arms the whole nine not to mention the ride quality will be really messed up! ive seen 2 lift kits for 2wd trucks run around the $1200-$1600 range so i can only imagine what a 4 kit would cost!
Q:how much would a 2 foot car lift be on a 1998 cadillac deville
easy way is put on a chevy 4x4 frame under the cady body
Q:Using a rearwheel drive car. How do I keep the brakes locked up while shifting at the same time? I‘m trying to learn how shift from first to second third forth fifth gear just sitting there and burning up the rubber.
Sorry ? guy but you must not know how to drive and race a clutch car if you think it can't be done. It's called heel toe shifting along with throttle and clutch control Start out with left foot on clutch, right foot toe on throttle, and right foot heel on brake. trans in 1st gear Rev engine up, and let clutch out to start the tire spin, controll your RPMs with the toe of your right foot. Shift as needed You can do it 2 ways RPM match the wheel speed to engine RPM and shift with out using the clutch (yes it can be done if you know how, if you don't then you will break parts) Or be very quick, don't lift off throttle, jab clutch in enough and grab another gear, and get off clutch quick. It's best to have a rev limiter when praticing this stuff untill you get the hang of it. We I use to drag race a clutch car, I never lifted from the throttle during any shifts. A line lock would work even better for gear shifts during burnouts. It gets plumbed in line with frant brakes only. Pump the brake pedel a few times to build press, hold pedel down. Press and hold line lock buttom mounted anywhere you want it, let off the brake Now you have both feet and brake pedal free. The front brakes stays locked as long as you hold the button. Line lock also lets the tires spin easier as theres no brake pressure on the rear heels, only the front. When you do a brakestand, that brake pedal applies the brakes to all 4 wheels and your engine has to over power the rear brakes to spin the tires
