Q:A friend of mine has one of those big, expensive, hydraulic shop lifts that he's going to let me use to replace the shocks on my 1993 f150. But it's one of those that you drive on (so your tires are always on the lift). My question is do the wheels have to be suspended in order to remove the shocks (meaning that I can't use his lift)? Or since he has the lift, would it be alright to just lift it up and pull the shocks (and put the new ones on)?
If you had a transmission or engine jack you can use that under the back end of the truck to lift the car up, while the wheels stay on the lift. It only has to lift enough to get the shocks out, after you undo the bolts.
Q:i bought a toyota celica and has a body kit that is super low. it is like 2 inches above the floor. i want to lift it because the car hits everywhere like on dips and speed bumps. i dont want to lift it too high or too low
probably 6 or 7 inches should be fine
Q:I have a 95 grand prix and am having some suspension problems. I need new suspension all around, but I was wondering if theres a way to lift my car and make it just a little taller? Maybe take some bigger struts off of a heavier car or truck, or would those not fit? Also, are there any other ideas of how I can do this? It is front wheel drive and the back is transversely mounted leaf spring suspension and struts, the front is struts with coil springs. Thanks, any ideas would be appreciated, even body lift (if thats possible for a car) just anything to get it up higher
I say leave it stock. You will gain nothing by raising it. In fact it will be less stable and less safe.
Q:How can you determine it?Use 2,400lbs as an example to work with.I‘m very bad at physics, but very VERY curious to know the answer(and I‘ve done it myself before, so I‘m wondering how much weight I was or needed to have lifted).Any suggestions would be good, even if not 100% correct.ONE rear side of the car. Thanks so much for any help!
ONE rear side of the car? How many rear sides do cars have again? That makes me think you meant something else. If you've lifted the back half of a car, look up the weight of the model, but I doubt you lifted the rear off the ground of a 2,400 lbs car.
Q:At point A when the angle of elevation is 31 degrees, the lift cars will travel at 5.0 mph. Each degree of increase of elecation decreases the speed by .2 mph. Point A and point B are 600 feet away from each other (Point B is 600 feet right, closer to the mountain). We may be able to situate the base station at points other than points A and B. What base station location minimizes the time needed to reach the top? Also assume each degree of decrease in the angle of elevation increases the speed by .2 mph. Work please? Thanks!
We need a diagram, or a better setup. Is A at the same elevation as B? Is there some third point on the mountain to which the cars must travel? If so, what is its elevation and distance? (I guess if from A Θ 31?, we need the elevation OR the distance -- we can calculate the other.) If we put the station at B, how do we get to B? And what is the travel time to get to B? Does it matter?
Q:about how much will it cost or will i even have to get it lifted? i have a 2001 cadillac deville
That's a stupid idea for so many reasons. If you knew anything about cars you would not even consider doing it.
Q:Would they fitI don‘t wanna lift the car
My boss made me deliver 3500 lb of product and drive 240 miles in the dead of winter when the defroster wasn't working and I couldn't see a thing. Somehow, I survived.
Q:I recently hot boxed my car and am realizing this was really stupid, because now when I open my car, it smells super strong. I have put baking soda in my car and on the seats, and it lightly lifted a bit of the smoke smell. However I am trying to get it to completely go away. I looked at some answers some people asked this same question. I read that vinegar can get rid of the smell, and ozium? Where can I buy this? And is itia neutralizer or a deoderizer.
Go buy a spray bottle of extra-strength febreeze, spray down the seats, floor, ceiling, the cargo area, anywhere there is fabric, you should spray. Leave your windows down for a while and drive around with the air going to air the car out a bit. Any grocery store has febreeze, and ozium can be found easier at hardware stores.
Q:my 2001 Ford Taurus is sagging a bit in the back, I was told that I needed rear struts, will this correct that any ? I was told that I did not need to replace the springs, they are still good
u need to change the springs
