Q: 1996 Eagle Vision tsi,has a small coolant leak,was told it iso.k. due to a water pump pressure release valve?has anyone heard of this on an auto?I thought they were only in hot water tanks at home.: No there is not a pressure release valve on a vehicle water pump. There is however a weap hole, which is where it leaks from when your water pump goes bad. The pressure release on the cooling system is through the radiator cap.

Q: I was wondering if there was a device that can pump and cool water. What I am looking for is essentially an aquarium pump that cools the water as it circulates.: What I do for chilling wort involves a copper tubing heat exchanger. I have (right now in fact) a coil of copper tubing immersed in my hot liquid and I pump cool water through the tubing. It would work just as well with a pot of salted ice water and your hot liquid being pushed through the copper tubing. The copper tubing is the semiflexible coils you can get at a home store for $20ish. You'd salt the ice for maximum cooling but start the pump before submersing the coils to keep your water from freezing in the pipe.

Any suggestions would be helpful Thanks: When you mean it wont come loose, do you mean you cant break the bolts loose or is the pump stuck on the motor like glue? If the bolts are stuck, try spray them with penetrating oil and let it work in for about 30 mins. If the pump is stuck, use a narrow putty knif, gently tap in between the pump and the block, and pry it off, then clean the mating surface completely to ensure the new pump seals properly.

From an imperfect memory it should be in forward gear to expose a link - but I could be confusing it with other brands. This brand has a known issue with the water pump if ever run dry as both the impellor and the housing can be damaged instantly. The pump should always be replaced as a full assembly, housing, seals and impellor, as detritus can easily block water galleries and that requires extensive work to remediate. The thermostat should be checked and replaced at the same time. Worn and damaged impellor material can easily end up through the block, head, thermostat etc. and that must be checked for as well. The lower cylinder can be down on compression caused by local overheating due to this and mud, sand and corrosion reducing water flow. An engine that very much must be flushed and looked after after all use - that includes all the larger models with this brand. They are quite a good engine, but seem very heavy for the output to me - particularly compared to lifting a two stroke on and off....

Q: I currently have a gould 1/3 horse jet water pump and a rusted pressure tank that I would like to replace. There are two bathrooms, both with showers, 2 bathroom sinks and the kitchen sink, as well as the washer. What horse power should I have for 5 faucets and what size pressure tank would be sufficient? It will give you much better pressure upstairs and if you want to increase the pressure you can chance the pressure switch (24.00) to a 40-60. As for tanks I would look at the 42 gallon. Q: i have a 1990 honda accord, 2.2l 5 spd standard, and my water pump went on it, and i was wonder if there is a diagram out there somere on how to replace it or how to take it out, cuz it is in the most stupidest spot ever, if you know were i could find a diagram on how to do so could you please help me?: the best place to find the image that you are looking for is in a repair manual for that car. i know that it is in a bad place, but it cab be a little easier if you go by the book.

Q: the car is a 1973 Pontiac Lemans, 350 V8. Water pump needs to be replaced. It's obviously a mechanical pump that's in there now. I was thinking of getting something with more capacity (to start off) as I feel the car could do with a better cooling system (and I have to get a water pump anyways). I was thinking of getting an electrical pump as that would also free up a bit of power from the engine. From what I gather, by doing this it seems I need to switch to an electrical fan also.
