Q: I feel like my nails are different from other peoples there wider and my fingers are shortish and I bite my nails a lot so I want to try press on nails but will they fit my nails?
Usually press on nails come in about 8 different sizes in one box. If you buy one of those packs you should be fine. For biting your nails, you should try to buy some clear coat polish that tastes disgusting so you wont want to bite them. It might help your habit :)
Q: im 14 years old, 6 foot, 195 pounds and max 160. i only have 20 pound dumbells at my house to work with. what can i do to increase my bench press?-
I don't know what 20lb weights will do to directly impact your press. One exercise I like to with a 20lb or 30lb weight mainly keeps my shoulders stretched but works the abs too. If you have a bed or an ottoman foot rest next to a chair, and can lay flat with knees bent, feet flat (but not planted), and head (but not neck) dangling off, take one of those weights in both hands. With your elbows at your sides you'll form a triangle with your hands over your chest. Extend your arms up all the way, then back down. Primarily works the shoulder, but also stretches triceps and the chest muscles too. It might not be a bench press per se, but it works a different aspect of that muscle. Look for objects around the house, too. Load up a pack with some books, maybe Just be careful though because of the uneven weight distribution (in other words, if it feels awkward, don't do it).
Q: yeah im 16 and my max shoulder press is 100. is that good? im 5'5 and 125 pounds. would someones max bench press be more or less than the shoulder press?
Your shoulder press is amazing for how old you are. Your bench press should be a lot higher then your shoulder press although it might just be that something you do in regular life is working your shoulders.
Q: What do the guys in the press box do?
Seat warming and praise for such a laid-back job. In the old days when stats were kept manually there was a ton of work to be done.
Q: I was really bored in the weekend and decided to press some flowers from my garden, i put a few fuchsia, pink rose petals, orange rose petals, and an array of leaves i found in the garden, i put them in an heavy book with my dads lifting weights, i checked them yesterday and the fuchsia are brown, is this normal? anyway, i want to make a picture out of this, any ideas, i want to frame it in my living room, will it last?
You can't press roses because they crumble. You can dry them out and thats it. You can press posies, asters, and carnation petals but not roses. You can press leaves, pine needles and seed but not roses. Now forget about pressing those roses and go do the dishes.
Q: ok when i press esc minecraft has not bin saveing how do i fix this. for it does save.
Press Esc and click the save and quit button. This should pretty much guarantee that your file is saved and you can close it.
Q: Okay, my grandma bought flowers from my sister's school fundraiser. When we brought them to her house and took the plastic wrapping off, natrually, some flowers petals fell off. I looked at them, and they were in the shape of hearts! I think they'd be perfect for a Mother's Day card, but I need to know how to press them, and I DON'T have a flower press. Thanks!
Depending on how much time you are allowed to prepare the flowers, is the method one must use. If time is rushed.. One can press the flowers with sheets of wax paper and an iron. Turning the iron on low and iron the flowers between two sheets of the wax paper. Do not over heat the wax paper and make sure you have the paper facing the correct direction as not to get any wax on your iron.. Typically this would be the shiny side facing each other. If one had a bit longer to wait, you need some very large books and place the flowers between the pages.. and set other books on top to act as a press. Shops like Fed-Ex/Kinko's offer a laminate servers with you can do yourself.. they that for the fastest way to press small flowers.
Q: I was just wondering about vanity presses, because a friend of mine sent his work at the exact same time as my own. We have a little wager going about who will get a positive response, and who will get a negative - if indeed they do give bad news. Because i have heard that vanity press will publish anything given to them if you are the one paying. Am i correct, or do they have standards as well, because in all honesty his work ain't to great.
This is the way I've heard it. Vanity press will publish anything. I mean anything. I've read a few books of friends who have published that way and it falls under the anything category. I'm sure you could send them rubbish and they will send you a letter back saying they have the perfect editor for you to work with for X amount of dollars. They will make suggestions, offer advice etc. Even if you don't change a word for, XX amount of dollars you can still have your work published. I say this because I have a friend and he was highly offended when they offered to edit the manuscript he submitted for additional monies. He didn't believe his work needed editiong. He considered his work perfect as it was. He sent it back to them without making a single change and they published it with spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and all in bold caps. Reading it hurt my eyes. At least the cover he choose was pretty but at $25 dollars a copy I would rather just go buy a piece of art.
Q: Try to learn to play the guitar and thought I was doing ok but my fingers were not hurting and and no matter how I try it the tips of my fingers are always touching more then one string. The book says I'm not pressing hard enough on the frets . so i press hard but now the string I press sounds mute an my tips are stopping the strings below the ones I'm touching from playing ( mostly the 1st and 2nd finger but some times the third like with a B7 and a c7) so one finger is press two strings.. what do I do?
If your book really says that, it's wrong. You NEVER press on a fret, you should press just behind it. If you press down ON the fret then, yes, you will mute the strings. You should press just hard enough for the string to make contact with the fret and vibrate cleanly. If your guitar is reasonably set-up it should not require much pressure. Pressing any harder will most likely send the string(s) sharp and make your fingers and even your whole hand sore. Touching strings with your fretting fingers that you don't want to touch is a completely separate problem that has nothing to do with how hard you press. Everyone has this problem when they start playing. You need to position your hand and fingers correctly but it's really just a matter of practice. Make sure that you are fretting individual strings with the tips of your fingers - not the pads - and that your fingers are coming down on the strings from above and not from the side. Often it's the position of the whole hand that's the problem. I'd be practicing that with simpler chords like Am, D and Em before going onto chords like B7 and C7 which ate more likely to get your fingers in a tangle. As I say though, practice is the only answer. Good luck.
