Q: engine is on a generator with about 800 hrs. changed fuel and fuel is getting to cylinder, pulled valve cover and valves are moving like they should, sprayed either in air intake and still no pop. any ideas other than to scrap the engine
Either needs a little fuel present to combust properly in an engine. If there isn't any, either won't do anything except make the engine spin over faster. Double check to make sure the injector pump is supplying fuel to the injectors.
Q: believe the mh didnt come with a seperate 12v power supply to run items after the mh engine is stopped! I want to run these items seperately from the mh engine 12v system if possible. The mh has its own stock inverter but i am unable to locate a pwer supply other than the 12v battery in the engine compartment which is used for the primary engine power supply. Does this sound right. For instance are their electrical systems that rely solely on the main or engine battery power supply(without a secondary seperate accesories battery or power supply) and are totally reliant on charging only from the engine charging system. I do have a 2500 watt external generator but i am limited on the hours of usage. Mainly i am interested in running the light ,tv and vcr without assistance of my external generator. Get a second battery, a battery isolater, and a power inverter. You may also want to add a 12 volt battery charger. For the second battery get a deep cycle battery. This will last you longer. Install the battery in a battery box and make sure the box is vented to the outside. When a battery is charged or in use it can produce hydrogen gas which if not properly vented could cause an explosion or fire. You can get these through any major auto supply store or any major department store that has an automotive department that sells batteries. You can also find them at boat dealerships. The battery isolater is like a one way valve for electricity. It will allow the second battery to be charged by your motor home's alternator, but won't drain the main battery so your motor home will start. You can find these at most RV dealerships. The power inverter will convert the 12 volt DC power to 120 volt AC power. Get a power inverter with enough capacity to run all of your items plus a little reserve. You can find these at most major auto supply stores. Your run time battery power alone will depend on how large of deep cycle you buy and how fully it is charged. If you add a 12 volt battery charger this will charge your battery when your motor home is connected to 120 volt power. Be sure to select a fully automatic battery charger so your battery is not over charged. You can find these at RV dealerships or they can be ordered through most major auto supply stores. It would also be a good idea to use heavy enough gage wiring to prevent any wiring problems. Also, strategicaly place fuses in both the 12 volt and 120 volt systems to protect your investment.

doesn't mattereither way it will throw off the fuel mix and cause a rich or lean condition causing loss of mileage and performance and shorten engine life.

A shock occurs when your body connects a source of electricity and the ground. The person you're speaking to is not in the path that the electricty takes to ground even if the devices along the wire would permit the transmission.
Q: I want to buy a GENMAX HY6500 GENERATOR FOR 220/240 VOLTS but is wondering if this generator is good. I saw one sold at $1,239 and on another site it was $299.00. I was adviced not to buy Wolf power because of poor customer ratings. I haven't seen any customer rating for GENMAX. I guess this is a Chinese company.The problem I am having in US is that I canot get a 50hz 220-240 volt generators. All I get is 60hz and I am told thy wouldn't work for Africa. Can anybody help?
You can probably get them in Africa proper, and at a better price too, with local support included, minus the shipping cost. When buying a portable generator, check which fuel it uses. Diesel engines last much longer than gasoline. Also, these units are not made to run continuously, but only for emergency or temporary power.and must run isolated from the regular power network. If you want to run more than one and have a small power plant, you need stationary units and a synchronizing panel, with circuit breakers etc. .
Q: I need a generator that will power alot of stuff, preferably cheap as possible, or any other power source of that kind.it will need to power about 5 normal appliances and a 600w bulbany ideas
Cheap as possible - go Chinese if you want to use it once a year and don't care if it goes paf at any time. Honda makes some good units if you want quality and back up. You need to add up the power draw of your five normal applications and your 600w lighting load. Add 25% and the unit will be adequate. If your appliances have induction motors you will have to have at least three times the rated power of the motor(s) to get them to start safely. If you need more than 3000 watts of constant power you should consider diesel, for longevity go for slow speed i.e.1500 or 1800 rpm engine speed. Price will range from $400 for a 2500w Chinese thingy up to at least $14,000 for a fully enclosed automatic 12KvA super silenced slow speed diesel unit on a slide. Running costs get high with the bigger petrol units. Inverters are good, but you will still have to generate power some how for the batteries - wind, water, solar, generator etc. Will be more expensive to set up but will be better long term for a cabin or similar. I'll tack on a couple of links below. Good luck.
Q: For a new observatory in the Andes at 17,000 feet, we need to provide power continuously for 4 months. Requirement is 208VAC, 3 phase, 10 kW. The site is accessible by large truck, but connecting to the power grid is out of the question. We are thinking diesel generators and large fuel tanks. Any suggestions out there? Thanks.
Your solution may be more simple than you think. (a) An electrical machine will not fail at high altitude. The only concern you need to have is sufficient cooling of the machine. At high altitude, the air density is less, but the temperature is cool in addition. But then 10kW is not much at all to be concerned with heating. (b) Get an assembly done at a workshop so that you can run a belt off your truck axle to your generator shaft. (c) Drive the generator (make sure you have anchored it safely to the ground) from the axle of the truck (whose driven wheels you have raised with a jack). Start your truck and power up your generator. (c) 10kW is less than 14HP. This means your truck (200HP?) will not even have to be driven hard to generate the torque to give you full power for your generator. (d) You may need a separately excited DC source (lead acid batteries) for the field of your alternator if you don't use a permanent magnet rotor.
