Q:I have a cabin cruiser and I recently took it out of storage and had it de winterized. Now everything seems to work except for the fresh water pump for the sink, shower and toilet. Does this type of pump need to be primed? If so how do you prime it? Thank you for the help.: most likely the pressure switch is stuck/corroded. this is a common problem with on demand type pumps.try tapping on the pressure switch to see if it will work.if the pump is installed properly,the motor should be at the top and the pump and switch will be at the bottom.i consider these pumps disposable. expect to replace it every couple of years.

Q:Hubby is trying to change the water pump on our GMC Jimmy. He cannot get the fan off to access the water pump. What is the trick here? He's trying to do more of the maintenance on our cars to save $$$$ --but it sure is a bear!: If the oil psi is dropping to 0psi and the oil is topped off and the engine starts making a noise when it goes to 0psi it is eat-her something in the oil pan getting around the pick up tube or the tub is loose or cracker or the oil pump is going out , and if the engine oil has not been changed on time it will do that , and i have seeing the the oil relive valve stick or the spring brake and co-use to do the same and i think the oil pump is in th front cover in front of the engine block , if this was me i would get a chiltons repair manual to repairer this proper , because low oil psi , you will need to replace rod and mane bearings, and if you don't do some thing soon you r going to have a big boat anker.good luck.

Q:Every time i turn off the engine i hear like liquid noises behind the dash board in the drivers side. My fan isnt working properly but i just took a trip...4 hours away.. on the highway the temperature would be fine but on regular streets my temperature goes high pretty fast..i have been putting anti freeze pretty often lately because it goes low but there is no signs of a leak anywhere. Could it just be that my fan isnt working properly or is it because the water pump is going bad? or both? I have a 93 Toyota celica: Not it's because you have a cracked cylinder head. Does the exhaust spew out a lot of white smoke? Edit: Having a blown head gasket does not explain the missing coolant. If you had a misfire or the engine was struggling a little then yes the head gasket would explain that. If you've never seen white smoke from the exhaust or under the hood, then I would say it is because the fan is not working properly. The gurgling that you hear is the boiling water going from the radiator to the reservoir tank. It is probably overfilling the reservoir tank and evaporating as well.

Q:I need instructions on taking the old one out and replacing it with a new one. Photos will be helpful: Water Pump RemovalRemoval: Disconnect battery ground cable and drain coolant from engine. Loosen water pump idler pulley bolt and remove belt from water pump pulley. Remove water pump inlet tube. Remove three water pump retaining bolts and water pump, Fig. 16. Installation: Clean both gasket mating surfaces on water pump and cylinder block. Install three water pump retaining bolts and tighten to 20-30 N-m (15-22 ft-lbs). Connect water pump inlet tube on water pump. Install water pump belt on pulley and adjust tension to specification. Connect battery ground cable. Replace engine coolant. Operate engine until normal operating temperature is reached. Check for leaks and recheck coolant level. Couldn't get the picure but this should help, the pump is located on the backside of the engine, just be carefull, this engine is really easy to get the pulley on backwards then the belt won't line up right.
