- Q: How to clean the large carpet at home?
- forwool or wool blending blanket, detergent should be used ; other blankets should use washing powder (high foam, and dirt remover). wet the carpet and lat flatpaving, brush with soft brush dipped in detergent solution (water dissolved detergent) brush blanket from the edge, cannot leak, otherwise the effect will be affected. rinse and brush (ture on the water from the hose and brush with a soft brush ), insure the detergent on every spot. wash and push the carpet with a piece of flat wood. Rinse blanket, spray a few drops of water added vinegar on the carpet to remove residual washing liquid, antibacterial disinfection. squeeze water as much as possible with plank, hang it to dry it, drying as soon as possible, when the carpet is completely dry, lay flat and brush with a soft brush toward one direction to make it more organized and neat.
- Q: Which is the simpliest way to clean and remove spots from dirty carpet, without using commercial shapoo?
- I use the light detergent or washing soaps. Do'nt even have to remove the carpet, i do it in piece by piece, wipe the excess water with sponge before applying the vacuum cleaner. Then if the odor persists, sprinkle it with petroleum (about 50 ml without engine oil) and open the doors and windows for 4 hours. Next morning its sparkling clean and as new as the first time i saw it ! Good luck!
- Q: I ordered an area rug online but the dimensions are a little off...I'm wondering if I can just cut it to make it fit? If so, how would I go about doing this so that it will cut evenly and all the way through (what kinds of tools, etc could I use)? Also, any suggestions on how I can keep the ends from fraying after its cut? Thanks so much!!
- a ruler , you can use duck tape before you cut to hold the fibers together for a minute, then use glue the base of the fibers to keep them together ~ see i told you so :)

- Ammonia is good for carpet stains. Use it diluted with water (don't mix anything else in). Your best bet, though, is to rent or buy a steam cleaner. Use a solution and pretreat the stains. Then clean them very well with the cleaner.

- I had a not so inexpensive hand hooked wool area rug in my home. Whenever I moved it to clean or vacuum the floor, there was this ivory powdery substance on the floor. It was the backing of the rug that was disintegrating. The thought of that substance in our breathing air landed that rug in the garage as a mud mat. If you do not have a receipt, and you paid by credit/debit card or check they can look up your receipt. If you paid by cash they will give you a store credit. I worked as a head cashier for 2 1/2 years and now work in the paint department, so I know they will.

- Maybe like a burgundy color. You can pick a rug and go to Home Depot or Lowe's and they can match the paint to the color.
- Q: We had some pee spots on our area rug while house breaking our dog. We rented a rug doctor steam cleaner and cleaned our rug but now I can smell dog pee just sitting on the couch. I can assure you we were very thorough in cleaning this rug; went over the area many times using over half a bottle of solution then ran just water several times to get up all remaining soap. I can understand that it seems we have loosened and spread around the pee, but if doing a through job with a steam cleaner doesn't work, what else can I do? Now I couldn't even spot treat since it is all over now. I would assume the pee is up but the odor remains. There is no carpet pad under this rug which I know can be the problem with carpet. This rug is only 6 months old, how can I save it?!
- Water makes odors worse. The Rug Dr is a joke. 90% of the urine is in the pad or in your case, the subfloor, not the carpet. You removed none of it. I assure you. You have structural damage.
- Q: In new construction, with concrete floors.I am putting in bifold closet doors which have a track on both the top and bottom of the door.Should I wait until the carpet is in to put the track on the floor, or should I put it in and let the carpet installer carpet up to both sides of the track?Thanks.
