- It seems like braided rugs are pretty intuitive -- just braid and sew, and use your imagination. If you are afraid of goofing up, you could try doing coasters or placemats first. I don't think you need a class, but sometimes it's nice to do it with other people.
- Q: I don't have the cash to rent a rug doctor. I have a large white rug in my living room and I guess from walking around the house with no socks on, there is a 2'x6' area that is darker than the rest, along with a few stains from spilled drinks.I have a bottle of some carpet cleaning foam with a cheap scrubber on the end but it's just too small to cover that large of an area.So I'm thinking a bucket and a rag might be the best option. I have since bought a small bathroom size mat over the area my feet go on but I'd like to clean it still.So maybe a bucket of warm water with a dab of dishwashing liquid detergent? Or some baking soda?I also don't want to get so many suds in there to where I have to keep scrubbing with a rag and water only 5-10 times to get all the cleanser out.Any ideas?
- If okorder . Carpeting is an expensive investment, you should take care of it. Dishwashing soap normally is colored, these dyes can redye your carpet if you administer it in the cleaning process. Use only clear or white dish soap if you are bold enough to try this your self. The bottom of your socks is probably where the dirt is coming from. Keep a pair of slippers available, preferably without black hard foam soles, and wear them inside the home.
- Q: Only rug like this I own, a hand off from a relative in a pattern I love, but it needed cleaning, so I bought a can of Resolve and followed the directions TO THE LETTER, practically sprained my back on it, and when it was dry and vacuumed within an inch of its life, it looked EXACTLY the way it did before I started. Complained to the company and they sent me coupons to buy more of the stuff I said didn't work -- why do they do that? Anyway, I have to pay to have my wool rugs professionally cleaned, but not this stuff, can anyone recommend the best way I can clean this, thank you in advance.

- Sand is hard to keep clean as it holds in bacteria and serves as a breeding ground for bacteria. It is also a common cause of intestinal impaction. I use non--adhesive shelf liner. It's cheap, looks great (lots of colors and patterns), easy to clean.
- Q: i have candle wax in my carpet
- Take an old dish rag or t shirt that you don't want to use again with an Iron and lay the rag on top of wax and start with low heat on iron run it across till you see the wax go unto the rag......keep doing this until you get all the wax unto the rag...sometimes it might take more than one rag. WORKS EVERYTIME:-) I have a 5year old...i understand!! LOL

- Q: Some wax fell on the carpet(quite dense) and i tried the old trick ironing down a piece of paper on top of it to lift the wax off. It has worked for me before. But now, part of the paper has stuck to the carpet. I tried ripping it off real quick but now there's just a huge patch of paper stuck right into the carpet. How can i get it off/out ? Help ?
