- Of the three previous answers, I'd go with the Rit dye. Just make sure you dilute it well, and apply a small amount at first to see the results. Apply a second, or third coat if necessary to get the desired color. Also, you could try blending it out into the carpet that was not ruined for a cleaner blend between the two. Good luck!
- Q: i washed my area rug with a little soap and water due to the fact it has spilled milk and puppy pee on it. i was wondering why it has a sweet but yet funny smell and how to get rid of it cause its not in just one spot can i wait for it to dry sprinkle some baking soda on it then rub it in and vacuum i washed this thing when it was 80* and bright and sunny out
- Sounds like the puppy pee has crystallized and still in the rug. Re-wash the rug with a product called OUT! from the pet department. It is an enzymatic cleaner that removes the odor and stains from anything protein such urine, feces, vomit and blood. I have used this product for years not only for pet accidents, but from my kids too. To make it easier, I used a carpet cleaner to extract the liquid, but you can also air dry again. Good Luck! ;)
- Q: Our cat pees on our rug and we don`t know why. The main part is we can`t get the smell of the rug. We have this huge piece of tinfoil and it says that he would be scared of it and not even walk on it but he walks right over and starts biting at it. Now that the tinfoil is there he won`t pee on the tinfoil but he finds a new spot on the rug. - If your cat isnt using the litterbox or cant seem to hold its urine to get to the litterbox in time than I think seeing a vet is necessary to rule out any medical issues like urinary tract infection. If your cat is not fixed that could be the other reason, so as long as your cat is healthy enough getting fixed should solve that issue.
