Q: if i use oxyclean and water in my floor scrubber for a cleaner to do my whole carpets will it work nice?: Do not use laundry products on your carpet, they may contain harmful bleach additives that will damage the carpet dyes, especially if the carpet is Nylon. what ever soap you use, use very little as these toy machines do not have the ability to properly rinse the soap from the carpet fibers. Any soap residue left behind will become a dirt/soil magnet and the carpets, especially the traffic areas will quickly re soil.

Q: Does scrubbing the carpet floor work?Question Details:Right now, my dad is scrubbing the carpet with a carpet cleaner.Well, he is applying the liquid and scrubbing over it and drying it.Does that damage the carpet? He's not even using the machine and the carpet still looks dirty.I think that using that carpet machine is better but my dad doesn't find it necessarySo?.: Scrubbing the carpet manually soaks the padding under the carpet and causes mildew. If he wants to clean carpet himself, he should use a mop (yes, a mop) and scrub his carpet with that. I do it monthly because I have a very light carpet + 3 children = a mess. I pretreat the carpet stains with either Shout Out or a stain remover. After that settles, I mop the carpet using elbow grease on the stains (like coffee) and after the floor is finished it looks new.

Q: Our cat pees on our rug and we don`t know why. The main part is we can`t get the smell of the rug. Q: My carpet has a mystery stain. It's very sticky and black and ground in. I have tried goo gown and soap and water. I need some sort of heavy duty carpet cleaning suggestions.: Hello, Adding soap to the sticky and black ground in mystery stain is just making it worse. You are adding a surfactant (Soap) that gets sticky when it dries. You need to find out if the stain is a oil ( like food dropped ) or sugars like soda pop. First thing you want to do is get rid of the soap residue. If you have a wet dry vac. Get club soda and pour it onto the stick black ground in mystery stain. Use a soft shoe brush and start brushing the stain. If it is turning foamy you have to get DEFOAMER. Spray it on the carpet till you do not get any foam on your brush. (It cuts soap bonds so you can get the soap residue off the carpet). Keep adding club soda. Extract the club soda from the carpet. The black and sticky should start to go away. You should be left with just the original stain, or it should be gone. If you have no foamy residue and it still is sticky you need a solvent because it is an oil based spot. I don't know where you live but if you look in your local yellow pages for Carpet Cleaning Supply stores you can get Defoamer and Solvents to clean the carpets. BE CAREFUL WITH THE SOLVENTS USE AS LITTLE OF THE SOLVENT AS POSSIBLE. IT CAN DELAMINATE THE CARPET IF YOU USE TOO MUCH. (seprate the carpet backing from the fiber) Solvents will desolve glue.
