Q: I have received a swivel chair, but it is too low to be used at my desk... I don't want to put a cushion on it because it is a massaging and heating one lol..: It would help to see the chair. I dont believe that part controls the height of the chair. Typically it is a gas cylinder with either a leaver under the seat or piece of the seat. There are chairs that you spin to adjust height but considering your chair is massaging and heating, i would assume it is raised and lowered with the gas cylinder. If the gas cylinder is not working it may not be making a good connection. (when you pull the lever it pushes a button on the top of the gas cylinder which causes it to raise/lower) If you put the chair together yourself I would make sure that the gas cylinder is pushed all the way into the under chair bracket. Otherwise contact the manufacturer and they should send you the replacement part.

Q: I have to make a cad drawing of chair , but first I have to measure the chair and put the dimension in the drawing , but there are lot of curved shapes on the chair and lot of angle , but I couldn't figure out how to measure those curves and angles.Should I lie the chair down and sketch it on the surface and measure it from the surface. Thanks: When I first saw this question, I was going to make a snappy answer such as - randomly draw lines all over the place and then erase all the ones that don't look like a chair. But, after reading the question, it's a good one. Measuring curves can be very tricky. I usually draw a straight line parallel to the curves on the actual object and mark the line at several preset, equally spaced points. I then make several measurements at these set intervals on the line to the actual curves - the more measurements, the more accurate the drawing. I then use this information to duplicate the curve from a straight line in the drawing. There may be other methods, too, but I find that this one works best for me. Good luck.

Q: I've play flute for 8 years now, piccolo for 6. Last year when playing for chairs I got 2nd chair. I got absolutely no solos nor piccolo parts. Being my sophomore year, I didn't mind all that much. Our flute section leader was first chair. Now this year she is drum major. They are designed for extended occupancy and comfort by allowing them to adjust in several directions. About $800-$1000 per chair when I last priced them. Q: My husband has a little rocking chair that was his as a child. It is made of wood and originally had a wicker seat which broke and has since been removed. I don't know where I would even buy wicker material...Thanks for any help!: Since it is child size, you might consider weaving a seat out of jute rope or a smoother type of rope. It's probably a square shape and all you have to do is weave the rope over and under, first on one side, then the other; similar to making a potholder on a loom. There would probably be online instructions, if you search for 'do it yourself chair seat weaving,' or check youtube for videos. Looking around online might give you ideas for other materials, besides rope; you'll also see suppliers of materials listed. Good luck! (My dad enjoyed weaving chair seats for a hobby.)
