Q: I have a microfiber chair that is looking a little dingy, what is the best way to clean it? Is there a good product? Any advice??: I had a Microfiber chair. I also have a black lab. When she was a puppy, she would vomit, pee, and do almost every imaginable nasty thing to that chair that you can imagine. Here is how i cleaned it when needed... 1. I have a bissell carpet cleaner with hose attachments. I filled the resevoir with HOT water. I filled the cleaner tank with... lysol cleaner with fabreeze. I first sprayed the chair with the cleaner out of a spray bottle so that the cleaner could work its magic for 15 minutes before i turned on the bissell. After presoaking with the cleaner, i turned on the bissell and sprayed it with hot water. i waited for a few minutes, 5 at most, and then began to spray and suction repeatedly all over the chair. This worked awesome and did not discolor or bleach the fabric. It also left the fabric smelling very very nice, since it had febreeze in it. After i cleaned it, i sprayed the chair with 3M SCOTCH GUARD in order to prevent later stains. Now my puppy is fully grown and doesn't do nasty things to the furniture. Good Luck. -Luis Pernia

I would try squirting him/her with a water bottle - that seems to work well. There are several other options...check with your vet or at the pet store.

Q: I used to have a computer chair (wal-mart brand) that I used for so long that the cushioning started migrating away from my butt and legs to where it felt like I was sitting on a piece of wood.I bought a new one and I tried every single chair the store had (Office Depot) and this one feels awesome. It was one of their most expensive ones so I want to make sure it lasts and the cushion doesn't migrate away from my butt again.: If the chair was one of their most expensive ones, then hopefully the chair will hold up just fine, butt again I could be wrong. Make sure your weight is evenly distrubuted in the chair don't sit on the edge of it.

There is a piece of paper glued to the bottom indicating it was produced sometime around 1750. the name Armstrong is stamped into the bottom of the chair. I am looking for any information on this particular chair or manufacturer.: is it African wood? Is it upholstered?? If so, it could be worth about $500+ depending on the condition - try eBay or goggle to see if you can find any antique dealers, or call your local antique shops, If it's an Armstrong chair, it's worth something - if the paper is a signature, it's probably made by the craftsman whose name was Armstrong - Is it a scrolly stamp?

Q: I'm very recently very interested in the old abandoned ski areas. I was wondering if anyone knew of an old area where lifts are still up? or even if the chairs are set on the ground that would be ideal. I'm looking for old chairs to just really get a good sense of the old technology that was used on these old mountain/areas. I've had some great success with finding rope tows and Poma lifts, however chairlifts are hard to find really with chairs still attached! Any information would be great. Just a hint. I am NOT looking to take these. I have found old Poma Bars, T-Bars, and old rope tow handles and always abide by the rules of the area. I have taken ONE T-bar, and asked the mountains owner for permission to take it. I don't know how I could fit a chair in my little Ford Taurus either! Q: i have 5 captin chairs like theses heard they have some value on them so some1 plz help me out on any info u got: In the process of researching four, heavy, solid walnut, bentwood, captain's chairs that I rescued from a Winston-Salem, NC office that closed in 1990 after 50 years of operation, a reference Librarian named Katherine Arends found a small book in the Siler City Library in 2001 to help me with the company history. The book was called Boling: The Story of a Company and Family by John Harding (1979). According to this book the company started in 1901 as Siler City Bending Co. and made things like traces for carriage harnesses. On Jan 9, 1904, it became High Point Bending and Chair Company with founder Captain Malvola Jackson Boling. It was named High Point because of the heavy investment in the furniture industry from a nearby city of that name. In 1956 it became Boling Chair Company. In the year 2001 it was still in existance in Siler City and known as Boling Group. Further research has led me to believe that the chairs I have are probably from 1926 --- celebrating their 80th (deleted)day. They are in excellent condition and continue to be well-loved and appreciated for their comfort and many years of service.

Sometimes having peer's her own age can help her adjust to new things. Taking her high chair away and putting it up in storage will not leave her a choice to sit in one. Try introducing her to a playschool toddler table and maybe having her sit there with you... while you eat a snack together.. Or try setting up her food at the family table when you serve her. Make it exciting... Maybe start off with coloring pictures at the family table before snack time, and inadvertantly bring her snack to her there ... Tell her that today is a very special day and you'll be having a special kinda snack/meal and decorate a chair at the family table for her to sit in.. like a princess chair.. Remember who's the child and who's the adult, children do what their parents allow them to do.
