Q: How to clean the large carpet at home?
forwool or wool blending blanket, detergent should be used ; other blankets should use washing powder (high foam, and dirt remover). wet the carpet and lat flatpaving, brush with soft brush dipped in detergent solution (water dissolved detergent) brush blanket from the edge, cannot leak, otherwise the effect will be affected. rinse and brush (ture on the water from the hose and brush with a soft brush ), insure the detergent on every spot. wash and push the carpet with a piece of flat wood. Rinse blanket, spray a few drops of water added vinegar on the carpet to remove residual washing liquid, antibacterial disinfection. squeeze water as much as possible with plank, hang it to dry it, drying as soon as possible, when the carpet is completely dry, lay flat and brush with a soft brush toward one direction to make it more organized and neat.
Q: What color does the purple sofa match? The carpet looks good
Hello. The dark purple sofa is good for a yellow carpet. As long as the two colors together, coordinated, or eye-catching, will achieve a good color vision effect.
Q: My cat won't poop in his pan, but he will go on the rug all over the house. Is their any way to stop him?
Yes. okorder / ... Cats are clean creatures and like to use a litter box so his natural tendencies are on your side. Good luck!
Q: Im a single mum of three and a student so you can probably guess that i don't have alot of money!I went to a carpet store and they said that i could carpet a room using felt back carpet which the fitters can use glue to put down because felt back carpets don't require underlay.right now that seems to be my only option.i just wanted to know if anyone has a carpet that doesn't have any underlay and if is worth doing it??
Carpet Without Underlay
Q: how or what can i use to get the sticky residue off carpet ? previous owners put vinyl tile over carpet which was stupid does anyone know what i can use to get the sticky residue off carpet?? i have goo gone not sure if it would work does anyone know what would work.. that wouldnt take alot to get it off carpet.. seems to be those self adhesive tiles that are on top of carpet.. i'm lifting tiles off but the residue is on carpet making you stick kinda to carpet.. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!! thank you in advance..
My feeling is you'll have to get new carpet. You're basically going to have to saturate the carpet repeatedly with solvent and rub it with old towels to soften and absorb the adhesive. Carpeting has a tendency to 'wick down' moisture, so if you soften the glue it will want to go down further into the carpet rather than wipe off. Depending on the thickness and height of the pile, and how much adhesive is stuck to the fibers, you may be doing a lot of work for nothing. Solvents you can use would include stuff like Goo Gone, however it will take a lot to get the adhesive off, and that will get expensive. You can also use paint thinner or turpentine, but the fumes may be too much unless you can close off the room, and the smell will linger. Either way, you'd best not light a match in that room for a while, and the solvents could also cause the adhesive under the carpet to fail.
Q: Smup pump broke and water leaked on to the carpet
Have you tried calling your insurance company? It is really hard to get that out of a carpet and the bacteria that may be growing can be dangerous especially if you have allergies. If you do call them make sure to ask like it's a hypothetical question. You know, act like you've been shopping around a little more and you wanted to know if you have coverage for that situation and what it would cost to get that kind of coverage etc. If you have no insurance you might want to just get an estimate from a professional cleaning company. The ones that specialize in flood or fire damage clean up. If you are truly desperate and have very little to spend you could try some oxy-clean. Mix up a couple of gallons of it. Spray it over the carpet until you've saturated the whole area including the mat underneath and then leave it for about one hour. Then use a commercial cleaning machine(the kind you rent from a store) to suck up as much of the water as possible. Put a fan on the carpet and turn either your air conditioner or heat on because that will help dehumidify the area and make it dry up faster. After it's all nicely dried (aproximately 1 to 2 days). Sprinkle the carpeting with a powdered carpet odor remover and vaccuum it up after a few minutes. Oxy clean does kill mildew which is the culprit in most carpet smells. Oxy clean can remove some of the color from your carpet but not like bleach does! I haven't had it lighten anything of mine but that is the warning on the package! My daughter likes to play with water on her carpet in her bedroom (much to my dismay!) The oxyclean and carpet deodorizer work well at getting rid of that horrible smell.
Q: Ok last night my kitty had a bit of an upset stomach and umm... went to the toilet all over my white rug!!! It is machine washable so I washed it twice with tons of detergent, the smell is gone, but the brown stains are still there! Any ideas??
Put the rug in the wash machine with enough hot water to cover it...add two scoops of Oxy Clean..let the machine agitate for a bit to mix it all up and then turn the wash machine off..close the lid and let it sit over night or longer. Then add detergent and continue the wash cycle. It should take the stain out..it works on vintage linens with set in stains and brings them back to white again. Although...even though the smell is gone, hopefully the scent is gone for her, so to be sure...after you remove the stain..soak it again but with white vinegar, this is the only natural substance that will remove pet odors...then...rinse and rewash with detergent again. Yeah it's a process..but if this is a prized rug, it would be worth it. If it's just a basic rug you can easily replace, then toss the rug and buy another one.
Q: We are going to replace our flooring in the basement, it has very expensive cushony white carpet, and over the years with kids and dogs, it no longer looks white. Our basement is just under 1000 sq ft, and don't really feel like ripping all the carpet up. Its a very warm, dry basement, no dampness or leaks. So could I just put the laminate over this instead of using an underlay? Or is that just asking for trouble later on?
Not with your carpet. It can be if the carpet is a very short, tight knit carpet that is glued directly down and no pad. Even then you need the proper underlayment. The locking systen will break if you don t have a firm base. So a soft carpet won t work. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar, I ve attended several installation seminars as well as installed a couple 100,000 s/f. GL
Q: What color carpet is good?
In the living room color, as with people wearing, the same is the color, but three principles. Carpet collocation, we also pay attention to hue, color, tone, color, brightness, color matching principle.
Q: Is it a good idea to buy hand-tufted rugs as they are inexpensive compared to hand-knotted rugs ? On average how long does both types last ?
No, don't buy hand tufted rugs. They are made in India and China and it's tufted by using a gun..which is the cheapest way to make a pile rug ever. The tufted rug will rarely wear as well as the hand-knotted rug because the wool is almost certainly of a cheaper grade, and because the inexpensive latex glue used becomes brittle and deteriorates over time. A hand-tufted rug has resale value only equivalent to a machine-made rug of the same size.
