- You need padding. The carpet will wear better and it will be more comfortable to walk on. Padding is inexpensive compared to the carpet and worth upgrading to at least a medium grade. I'll let someone who is an expert on carpeting answer about carpet crease! It sounds like it's where carpet has been folded, not rolled. Doesn't sound good if its been creased a while.
- Q: Alright.. so i need to kill fleas that MAY be in my carpet. I havn't seen any hop on me but my kitten has got fleas. I have a 12 month old son also.. that crawls on the carpet and puts anything in sight in his mouth, including his hands that obviously touch the carpet. - Rigorous vacuuming will be the best approach. Things that may be non-toxic to your baby are not going to be good for your kitten. For instance, boric acid is considered a non-toxic approach, but if it gets on your kitten's paws, and your kitten washes its paws (which it will do), it is toxic. But you can get some boric acid or diatomaceous earth, and suck some up the vacuum after you clean. That will work on any fleas in the bag that may have survived the trip through the vacuum.

- You can try vinegar, that is what people use to get wine up. The best would be paint thinner but it would probably bleach the carpet.

- Vinyl flooring does not live up to hardwood flooring. If you can afford it, get the hardwood. It's easy to clean, the look is so much nicer and it lasts a lot longer. Short term care is easy with the vinyl but in the long run you replace it etc. Hardwood never goes out of style. Even if you get a similar look to hardwood with the vinyl it's not the same feeling. - They have the exact one at Home Depot, you can even order the size you want. I do not know if you will find it online though, I just know my local store in Glendale,Az has it. Those prices that are on that website above are outragous!! I have the same one in the grays/tans/teals, I only paid about $260.00 for two custom sized rugs, and they are huge!! One is 12 by 14.

- Q: My boyfriend and I have a mini fridge in our bedroom. It was collecting ice really bad around the little freezer compartment and was so bad we could hardly open it so I unplugged it and asked him to carry it outside to drain. I went to work. He didn't do it. It was a hot day so most of the ice melted.. out the bottom of the fridge into the carpet. Thennnn he took it outside. We put lots of towels in the carpet and sprayed with carpet cleaner but now there is a horribblee mildew smell, and its still pretty wet. I can't stand it, its gross.. what do we do? - If it is wall to wall carpet: a) get a poerful vacuum cleaner which can collect the water from the water into the vacuum's upright drum. b) Run a fan over the carpet so it dries up in a day. The problem is not on the surface of the carpet, but the base of the carpet which has :actionbac: which is a synthetic rubber type of stuff which gets soaked, and it takes a lot of time to dry it. c)If the carpet is really old, and you cannot get the smell out in a two day time, then discard and fit a new carpet. if it is a rug which is loose laid, a) remove the rug and put it in the sun to dry it. b) reverse the carpet, exposing the backing to the sun and dry it for another day before you put it back in the room.
