- Q: What color coffee table and carpet do match with green sofa
- Gray should also be ok, matching with a slightly lighter color
- Q: My friend dosnt have the net so yeah im asking for her. [well shes grounded from the net]well she dropped some blush on her whitish grey carpet SO SHE BLEACHED IT ! she could of just asked me before becuase i know you shouldnt bleach carpet . She could of used vinnagar or bakingsoda or something.. lol . i dont know.but now theres a yellow stain .What should she do !?her perents will be home soon.
- Once something is bleached the color is removed permanently. If you happen to have some leftover pieces from the installed carpet you could cut the damaged part of carpet out with a carpet knife and insert a matching piece of carpet in it's place. Other than that you could possibly try to re-stain it with some fabric dye, but it's very hard to find/create an exact match. There are also fabric markers available that could possibly be used to re-color the stain, but honestly I think she needs to fess up to the mishap.
- Q: Should I buy a refurbished rug doctor?Or what is a cheaper really good carpet shampooer I can buy for the carpets in my apartment. I have some traffic in my apartment. Mostly from me and my pets. And the occasional pet accidents.

- Q: My dog peed on the rug in the bathroom, I know urine has ammonia in it, so would it be okay if I used bleach or would that create a deadly toxin. Can anybody help with this.
- you could use bleach but that would just stain the rug. if the spot has dried, wet the spot slightly then pour some bicarbonate of soda down.leave for a while (over night or a few hrs) that will draw the smell out. brush the soda of once you've left it for a while. then clean it with a anti bac carpet cleaner and pat dry.if its small enough you could put it in the washing machine. if the smell is still lingering coffee is good for removing smells. put in down dry on dry fabrics leave again for a while then hover off,you might have to do this a few times, but it should work! hope that helps xxxx
- Q: It's a latex based paint, and a nylon carpet. Anyone have any tips on getting it out? The carpet is a gray color. Thanks so much :)
- Paint thinner and acetone won't work...it will just work the paint deeper into the carpet. However, you can usually remove paint spatter with scissors. Often spatter is just on the very tips of the fibers. If this is the case you can just snip the paint off with sharp scissors. Just cut the very tips of the fibers. Work slowly. Don't cut a single millimeter more than you have to and pull up while cutting. This will help prevent divots in the carpet. Try your best to do just one or two fibers at a time...not a whole clump. And dissect the spills first by cutting them in half or thirds, so that you separate clumps. This will work unless you have already used a solvent and have worked the paint into the carpet. Also...cutting the spatter on shag or plush carpet, but not Berber or loopy carpet. Good luck. - It worked for me

- Q: carpet cleaning method
- The best is to use the steam cleaning method, as opposed to the shampooing method. Basically, the steam cleaning method uses hot water and cleaning solevant to loosen up dirt, then sucks the dirty water back out into the container. This keeps the carpeting from getting matted by pulling up on the fibers as opposed to grinding them down, which shampooing does. Also, with steam cleaning, the carpeting is rinsed with clean water, so the fibers will not be left with any cleaning residue. It's a very thorough deep-down cleaning that will leave your carpeting looking fresh and new.
- Q: I am having new vinyl flooring installed in the bathroom and I know that rubber or latex backed rugs can stain the floor yellow. Any suggestions? Thanks!
- Have you considered a foam backed bamboo rug? This won't yellow the floor and it won't slip and slide either. A rug with no backing is NOT a good idea in a bathroom. As for a rubber backed rug, if you only leave it on the floor when you use it after a shower or bath and keep it on the rim of the tub the rest of the time, it will take years and years and years before the flooring is yellowed... It's leaving it on the floor all the time that yellow the flooring...
