Q: Does anyone have any links to a SPECIFIC area rug that will go with a black sofa? I have an apt with medium brown wood pallette floors, and white walls. ANY help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
Here's okorder /
Q: In the corner of my bedroom the carpet smells musty, almost like this mildew moldy smell even the lower part of wall stinks. It has a wooden border (if that helps) the water heater is also on the other side (outdoor patio). I've used baking soda, carpet cleaning spray. The manager had them remove the pad under the carpet only and had it steam clean but all this only seem to mask the smell for a few days. Today the supervisor came and said something about painted the walls. I know what mold/mildew smells like (for I lived in a place that had it for over 3 years) . But the management and there clean crew insists that its nothing. I even had a few friends come over smell the carpet they said it stinks. I don't know what else to do.....any suggestions?
check under the floorboards their may be a dead animal or a human being.
Q: I have google searched, froogle searched, ask searched, and everything in between with all different keywords. I am honestly convinced that NO ONE...including previous answerers... can grasp the fact that college students dont want to spend $50-$100 on a damn rug. I am looking for a very cheap plain neutral rug source (~$10 free shipping) online. After all...its a damn floor cover on a **** dorm floor...for what a year? Come on guys. How about some ample suggestions for a good website. best answer. If it's more than $15...dont waste your time.
just go into any rug store and ask them for a small remnant hanging around--the least expensive one there!
Q: we are looking to sell our house soon, and need to replace the carpet. the estimates we are getting are 8,000 minimum.we just want something new, looks good and will last at least 10 years and affordable.am i dreaming when i hope to have it done, materials and labor, cost no more than $2000?
I have successfully replaced carpet at far below retail quotes by purchasing what is called seconds. Depending upon your location, look for a carpet store in your area that is the largest wholesale store. Call them and express your need to obtain x sq ft of carpet at the lowest possible price. If you get an invitation to come look and see what they have that will sell in your price point. Go, they are in possession of at least a few choices for you. I don't know the sq ft of your home, so I have no idea if 2K is just a dream or could be a reality. Best of luck
Q: colour-not quiter pink-not orange-2 choices I have seen- background medium to lighter green rug with same paprika colour it-abstact pattern or background almost same as sofas with some light green and light blue--is it better to have mor colour that matches sofas or introduce new coulor and pop the sofa colour in it? Help please? Thanks so much!
find colors that compliment the coloring in your furniture as well as add color to the white walls.. go to a store and get some color swatches.. or looka t area rugs an picture your living room in your mind and go through the differnat choices and see what appeals to you... this is very easy..
Q: So somebody spilt hydrogen peroxide on the carpet and now it's bleached! The original color was kinda a beige color and I need to know is there any possible way at all to get rid of this or kinda dirty it up to look beige... Please help!
I don't know if it will work. Spray the carpet with hydrogen peroxide. Then think about dying the carpet back to beige.
Q: Is there some kind of carpeting that won't collect dust deep within its root? We're going to have most of our carpeting changed to laminate because I have HORRIBLE dust allergies, but we want to keep the carpeting in the living room and dining room. Is there some kind of hypo-allergenic carpeting?
I believe Berber carpeting helps with keeping the dust out as well as indoor/outdoor carpeting. Your best bet is to call a carpet store and ask them. May be a little more expensive than the cheap kind. Why don't you get rid of carpet all together and do some area rugs without wool and dust holding carpets. Then you can wash them or take them out side and shake them. Best of luck to you.
Q: What type of rugs do you need for a horse? And when and why do you use them? Thanks
Your horse does not need rugs. Nature outfitted him with a very good winter coat. You blanket to keep the animal from growing a heavy coat (It never worked for me that I could see) You blanket because the animal is clipped You blanket because the animal is wet from a work out and you are cooling him in cold weather. You blanket because the animal is shivering. Once you start blanketing you must do so for the entire winter. After the first winter I opted to just ride more carefully and not cause my horse to sweat. I still cantered and jumped but I kept it short and with a lot of walk to keep the horse cool.
Q: We have a red rug which needs cleaning, but I'm no longer interested in using the harsh chemicals most commercial cleaners insist upon.
I okorder . FYI - if you fill out a short form on their website, they'll give you $10 in Earth Friendly Products printable coupons. (I personally use Earth Friendly Products and think they are great). You can find Seventh Generation and Earth Friendly Products at just about any organics store, such as Whole Foods, or you can order through their website. Hope this helps! Good luck!
Q: Have you or anyone you know had any allergy problems after getting new carpet?
Yes, my daughter. Depending on the materials and such the carpet and padding can be treated with all kinds of chemicals to water or stain proof it or fire retardants and such. The material that the carpet is made out of can cause problems. Synthetic fibers in the carpet and the foam in the carpet padding can be the source of the problem. For my daughter it was dust mites and the foam padding. If stored in a moist warehouse the carpet could also have mold spores but just enough for the allergy stricken. If you haven't had allergy problems before then do several deep cleanings of your carpet and use an anti-allergy wash. Your local allergist can hook you up with a list of products and providers.
