Q:Need a front brake hose for a 1981 Honda CM 400A Hondamatic. Would appreciate any links. Thanks.
This is a motorcycle. Since it is a Honda, go to your Honda dealer and get one. The worse case is that you may have to take the fittings off and have one made for you at a hydraulic shop. Most places that service tractors (John Deere, Massey Fergusson etc.) should be able to do it or at least tell you where they get theirs done.
Q:Hi guys, I‘ve got a 99 CB400, been doing recent work on it and when it came to bleeding the front brakes, they simply wont bleedI‘ve checked the master cylinder located below the reservoir and had a worn seal changed in it. After that, checked if it was working and bled just the master cylinder with the hoses to the calipers disconnected, than tried to bleed the calipers but no luck, just a few bubbles from time to time. Sometimes the bubble would actually go back into the hose instead of going completely out.Can anyone help please from personal experience or please redirect me to a post that sheds some light on this situation? I have also checked the hoses, there are no tears. Could changing the washers and putting new ones help?
Try hooking every thing back up all hoses. Check to see if you got any pressure pump it up bleed them, try 2 or3 times.
Q:So in the next year or 2 id like to purchase a motorcycle. When buying one what should i look for as far az mileage and condition? Id bea first time buyer thanks! Any advice would help!
same as with a porsche, buy the newest that you can afford. EXa brand new ninja 250 is better than a 5 year old honda cbr 600. Cost about the same but you get new technology and warranty.
Q:How do I replace or change a tail - brake light on a 1983 honda nighthawk 650 motorcycle?
Since you need to ask, you may wish to pay a professional to teach you a few things about maintenance and tool use-age.
Q:I need to change brake pads on my 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 motorcycle; this is a street bike/cruiser. There are many pads ,and the prices vary widely. What brand/material would you recommend.
depends how hard you use the brakes... if the originals are OK then go with the same.. sintered metal pads from Ferodo are what I use...
Q:i have an r6 i just bought it i can down shift i just want to know the proper way to do it i‘ve heard lots of ways but can someone tell me a good way to do it to see if i‘m doing it right thanks for the help
if im engine breaking I usually pull in the clutch, toe it down. and give it just a little throttle before letting the clutch out. bringing your rpms up to just below where they will be when you let the clutch back out prevent the rear from locking up when it goes into the lower gear and makes it a little smoother. but if im just down shifting it depends on the bike. some i can just let off the gas and tap it down a gear and some you need to pull in the clutch for it downshift. ive been riding for about 16 years and havent hurt a clutch or transmission yet.
Q:Regular parts suppliers have things like replacement headlight bulbs. I need a source for the complete motorcycle headlamp assembly that I can utilize in my design. I also need to be able to buy in bulk to sell multiple units.Items needed: headlight assembly, turn signals, turn signal switch, brake light assembly, electric brake light switch (turning brake light on as brake handle is depressed, not hydraulic).I‘m looking for modern styled parts that I can incorporate into custom molded composite fairings.Thank you for your answers!
Jeff, For your prototype vehicle, just use parts from a motorcycle wrecking yard. You'll save money and not be out as much in the long run. Some of the current touring fairings are about as aerodynamic as you can get If you plan to run two front wheels, a hydraulic braking system will be lighter and easier to build, not to mention you can incorporate all brakes into a single hydraulic foot operated unit. Be sure to use double flares on steel lines for safety.
Q:Motorcycles
In the 2008 model year, Harley-Davidson released the XR1200 Sportster in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. The XR1200 had an Evolution engine tuned to produce 91 bhp (68 kW), four-piston dual front disc brakes, and an aluminum swing arm. Motorcyclist featured the XR1200 on the cover of its July 2008 issue and was generally positive about it in their First Ride story, in which Harley-Davidson was repeatedly asked to sell it in the United States.[92] One possible reason for the delayed availability in the United States was the fact that Harley-Davidson had to obtain the XR1200 naming rights from Storz Performance, a Harley customizing shop in Ventura, Calif.[93] The XR1200 was released in the United States in 2009 in a special color scheme including Mirage Orange highlighting its dirt-tracker heritage. The first 750 XR1200 models in 2009 were pre-ordered and came with a number 1 tag for the front of the bike, autographed by Kenny Coolbeth and Scott Parker and a thank you/welcome letter from the company, signed by Bill Davidson
Q:Things I should look at when buying a motorcycle?
B e u buy it gett an insurance quote which cud be more than the price of the bike.
