Q: Can I replace my motorcycles rear brake pads with newer pads from the front of the bike?
Not a very good idea, but if the calipers are the same, then yes. Just be aware that the pads wear down with the rotor in a specific pattern. If you switch the calipers, it will probably eat the pads up pretty fast, and not be as safe overall. Its a better idea just to get new ones. They arent very expensive to replace, and having all your brakes working properly is essential on a motorcycle.
Q: i live in the uk and ride on a provisional licence. i am currently studying motorcycle mechanics and i am about to embark on a honda c90 project bike and wan to make my own LED brake, tail and indicator combo light for the rear, is this legal, and if so is there a certain brightness i need? thanks :)
you may't use any mild which would be utilized as a manner to reason undue dazzle or soreness to different persons utilising the line. pink isn't a specially limited shade, blue and green are for emergency service use and amber can in basic terms be utilized in specific situations. the colour isn't a controversy regardless of the shown fact that if the Police experience that the sunshine ought to dazzle or endanger highway risk-free practices they may well be entitled to end you.
Q: Thanks for looking. I have a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R 600 and my brake light isn't working. I turn on my bike and the brake light stays on.... Any ideas? Hand brake and foot brake don't do anything.
Either your rear brake light switch or the micro switch on the handlebars has gone bad or needs adjusting most likely.Check them with a multimeter set for continuity.Apply the probes to each side of the switch contacts. The meter should show infinity unless the brake lever or pedal is applied.
Q: So, in november I got into a motorcycle accident. Someone pulled out in front of me and I slammed on my brakes and ate pavement before I hit their car. I had been riding for 2 years before the incident, and I am a good, well-trained rider. Now I have scars, and it has been hard for me to recover, emotionally from this incident. I just finished repairing my bike, and I want to ride again. But I am honestly hesitant and scared to. Any advice?
You have good reason to be hesitant and scared. It is dangerous to ride a motorcycle in city traffic as most drivers do not give a motorcyclist very much respect. You can be the best cycle rider in the world but you can't control the actions of others. Good Luck
Q: I have trouble using my foot to shift up gears, my foot can‘t really seem to go up far enough. Im aware of the heel option which i might do but is there something i can do to improve and not have to use my heel?
Take some chalk, make a mark on the shaft and gear lever, release and remove the gear lever, rotate it to the next spline anti-clockwise, re-tighten and off you go. The chalk mark is so you have a data point.
Q: Is it like a stick car? that it will roll back on hills and i need to be shifting and all that stuff?
Take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Beginners Rider Course. Riding a motorcycle is not hard, but you need to be educated if you are going to do it right! There is a bit of coordination involved but if you can drive stick, you can probably handle a bike. There was a girl in my class who didn't know what a clutch was when she started and even she did OK
Q: i just took the MSF course and ive been practicing in an empty parking lot near my house. At the MSF course i was taught the B-C-D (Brake-Clutch-Downshift) for braking. However a lot of people have told me to pull in the clutch first THEN brake. Which is correct?
In an emergency do what your course taught you (brake, clutch, downshift). Just riding around, clutch then brake or both at the same time. But at high speed the transmission will slow you down quicker then you think. And at very high speed, wind resistance will slow you down quickly.
Q: Difference between MOTORCYCLE MOTORBIKE SCOOTER MOPED SCOOTY?
basically a motorcycle is a bike that goes between your legs when riding (you straddle it like a horse, it may actually have some real power!) A scooter is generally something you'd sit on like a chair, (e.g: Vespa/Peugeot 50cc or 125cc etc.) and a moped is basically a bicycle with a very small engine attached to it. If you're going to be riding on the road in traffic, get a motorcycle that way you'll learn the skills needed to survive have the proper machinery to get you out of bad situations that other road users (i.e cars other 4-wheel wankers) put you in i guarantee that it'll happen sooner or later speak to a motorcycle shop to find out what really suits your needs. hope this helps.
Q: I was putting on a new brake light and might have connected the wrong wires the light wont turn on nor the motorcycle could i have short circuited the battery it still gives 12v when off what can i do to fix it
The Main fuse is located just outside the battery-box on the Red lead (+).
Q: i drive stick and i never downshift rev match i just for example if im going 65 on 5th gear and break i just break to 20 shift it in the gear i think it needs to be , now with a motorcycle lets say lets say im going 65 on 5 gear ,if i want to break can i do the same thing? also can i break by breaking then when im about to stop put the clutch in and when what s stop hold the clutch in and shift to neutral or 1 gear with out letting the clutch go?
You should learn downshifting and rev match at some points on your route/destination. It makes your driving easier in some circumstances. I think driving stick is more about timing, so use the time to learn how to downshift and rev match.
