Q: Assuming it is well tuned up. 1980‘s Honda Magna series.
About the same. newer bikes are cleaner running, some better brakes- but encourage rider problems. Old bikes are fussy sometimes- but riders don't get too tempted to do silly things like the new 'sports' bike riders. Define 'old'- my 1960s /2 BMWs brakes weren't as good as 1980 Honda, but newest cycles don't have that much better brakes than Goldwing GL1000.
Q: are motorcycle titles linked to the frame or engine?
So.your clutch lever is lower than your brake lever? Well.when you removed the clutch lever, did you loosen the housing? The housing of it clamps around the handle bar. You loosen it and turn it to where you want it, so that the lever is comfortable.
Q: ive heard if the term trail breaking while watching shows about cars and raceing but never knew what it was. please write back and tell me what it is and how its done. thanks

Q: today i went on craigslist on a saw this used 2008 Honda Varadero XL1000VAmotorcycle for a pretty cheap price for a its condition. i ended up buying it bc it looked so cool. However, as i took errands and drove it back home the engine was sort of quivering a bit and the and the tires and brakes looked like they have never been replaced. My question is whether this bike is suitable for daily commute for me in florida key west. i might plan on taking it to school Florida key west community college.
Hondas are reliable but like all bikes need servicing from time to time
Q: My motorcycle (a 1998 Kawasaki Ninja 250R EX250-F is running rich after it was laid down at a low speed (tire tucked under heavy braking on gravel, less than 3 mph.) The Kill switch was hit relatively quickly and the bike was picked up within 5 minutes and started. Afterward I lost interest in riding and left it for a few hours. Then I took it out for a ride (about 15 miles) and the entire time (particularly at lights) I smelled gas from the exhaust. The choke appears working properly (the linked slide is actuating within what appears to be its full range) and the bike is idling slightly high (just under 2k rpm.)There are no other problems of note. It took about a minute and a half to start at partial throttle to start (probably flooded the carbs.)I am not an expert by any means and was unable to find the answer online. There have been no idle or rich condition problems prior to the bike being laid on its right side.
There should be some screws on the carb that are used to adjust the amount of fuel that's allowed into the carb through the fuel needles. I don't know the layout of your carb specifically so I cant tell you which screw exactly (usually the larger screw on the upper side of the carb, always a flathead type)but either way their should be two adjustment screws and they both serve essentially the same function. Start the bike and let it warm up and do some adjustment, the tighter the screw, the less fuel that can enter the carb. Adjust untill it's running stoich again. You also might want to try talking the screws (also called needles) out of the carb and check for damage that may have occurred in the fall. Make sure all o rings in the assembly are intact. Hopefully this helps, feel lucky it's not running lean which can lead to detonation and the end of your motor.
Q: I am trying to bleed my brakes, and I need to add fluid. My fluid is yellow, while the fluid already in the master cylinder/caliper is reddish.Does it matter if it is yellow? (The brake fluid is about 15 months old, and has been open for the same time. It is 'P' yellow)Is it yellow because it is a different brand, or does brake fluid change colors after it has come into contact with oxygen? It is DOT 4.
New brake fluid is CLEAR. Not yellow, not yellow-ish, and definitely not red. It's a good thing you're changing it. Moisture is the enemy of brake fluid, and you should only use a FRESH, unopened bottle every time. An opened bottle will attract moisture, even with the cap on, and brake fluid turns yellow when it's going south. Get some new fluid. Also keep in mind that DOT 4 and DOT 5 are NOT interchangeable. DOT 5 is pure silicon fluid, and will not work in a brake system designed for DOT 3 or 4.
Q: so i was involved in a motorcycle accident a few days ago where i t-bone a car and flew a few feet and broke my jaw. the person i hit had her right turn blinker on, she was actually preceding to turn right into this business parking lot and out of no where she hooked her car and made a quick left U turn. i immediately hit the brakes and slid into the back side of her car by her gas tank door.I was wheeled off in a ambulance and wasn‘t able to say my part of the story very much to the cop but i‘m sure the cops will say it was my fault just because she got to fabricate what happened. What should i do?
Not enough information. On the street? Number of lanes? Your speed? About I can figure of you not being at fault would be if it was on the streets, you in the left lane when she made an illegal u-turn from the right lane. If that was the case, would not have to do anything, her fault. Otherwise, you should have dodged.
Q: Any books you recommend for someone new to motorcycles?
If you don't know anything about motorcycles, there are three books that I would recommend you pick up. 1) A Twist Of The Wrist 2) A Twist Of The Wrist 2 These two books will help you understand riding more than just getting in the seat and how to work the gears. They'll help you understand the physics of going around curves, turns, using brakes and riding in general. 3) Your Service Manual Granted, this is a different reason. I only suggest this if you want to work on your bike. If you plan on just taking it to your bike's service center, then you can ignore this one. Otherwise, it's very helpful in fixing up your bike and doing repairs on it.
Q: I previously posted a question about my front brakes squeaking but have since figured out that it is my rear brakes. Is this something I need to have checked out immediately? Are there things I can check?1983 Honda Magna V45
is it a disc brake? if so take out the pads and put a smear of copperslip on the back, that should sort it, if they are drum brakes take rthe shoes out and just take the leading edge off with a file, you dont need to talke off much, just give it a bit of an angle. cheers
