Q:Hi, I attempted to switch the stock stereo system unit in my 2001 Pontiac Sunfire with a Pioneer deh-2400ub system but i cant get it to turn on! I tried wiring it manually and also with an adapter but when i plug it in and turn the car on, the system doesnt turn on! My old one still works so im thinking that maybe the new one isn‘t compatible with the 2001 sunfire. Is anyone else having this problem? P.S. i already went back and switched out the system for another one to insure that the first unit wasnt faulty. But it still doesnt work.: I know that there are some GM cars that take a computer to get the aftermarket sterio to work its a piggyback little thing, if your car has auto volume ( turns up a little when u gas it ) than you need the computer the autovolume is not very noticable youll have to check the settings on the sterio to see, if you have the monsoon system in there stock than i know you need the little computer thing. Also did you wire in the hot wire the constant wire and the ground, you need two hots and lastly just to verify would it not power up or would it not play sound

Q:I was driving today to work in some snow. After switching highway lanes a couple times (which made me go over piles of snowat relatively high speed), the car started vibrating and humming, like if I was driving on really rough and hard terrain. And the service vehicle light came on. After a couple minutes though it became normal again. And what is that liquid sound?It‘s 2000 pontiac grand am 3.4L with 140k miles.: A manual gives you the option of what gear to put it in, it has a clutch. A C.V.T. is a Constant Velocity Trans. It is always in motion. It has variable speed based on rpm. No shifting, it does it for you.

Q:Last week I had a tail light out and was checking fuses before I tried switching bulbs. When I pulled a 10 amp fuse the dash display went black. The fuse was ok, so I put it back in. But after I put it back the check engine light stayed on and has been lit since. Is there really a problem with the exhaust system or is there a way to reset the display?: Well the person above me is describing how to reset the maintence light not the check engine light and as far as taking your car to auto zone for a free check do not do that either Auto zone does have a dtc pad but it does not work with Hondas interactive network and is not designed just for Hondas it is just a generic pad that works on all vehicles Auto zone can reset the engine light but there pad cannot excactly tell you why the light is on. The only way to figure out excactly why the light is on is to take it to a Honda dealer they will charge you between 40 and 50 dollars for a diagnostics charge but there pad will open the ecm and send a signal to it to tell it excactly what is wrong and why the light is on

Q:I purchased the car in March and it runs fine. In the past month I have noticed that occasionally the battery light comes on. It does not matter whether the lights or a/c are on or off. I tried reving the engine to see if that would turn it off and that does not seem to make a difference. After a minute or two it goes off and may not do it again for a week. The meter on the dash shows that the system is charging. I do not know the age of the battery as it is not marked, but the terminals are tight and do not have corrosion.: Hi Craig. let me start by telling you you have done well to describe the issue. as I suspect you know the charge light indicates that the alternator isnt charging the system. the battery light is telling you that you are bellow 12 volts in the system. at roughly 11 volts the system wont opporate as it is designed to cut out to save the electronics system. the point that the lamp goes on and off may be trying to tell you the alternator is not putting out the roughly 14 volts it must do. some may ask why does an alternator put out more than the 12 volts a battery system is stated at? the reason is compairable to drinking from a glass. if a glass is to remain at the top of the glass more must be added if the glass is being shared by your son or daughter (as is common) even more must be added to keep it full. so the more things using the system the more must be supplied. modern cars are loaded witth electrical parts just to drive using no creature comforts. so the odds are strong that A- there is an issue in the charging system B- that its intermitent C- that I need to help LOL, you need a volt meter and a test light. take a non running volt reading at the battery expect 12.5 aprx. now do the same test but apply the ground to several locations (frame, block etc) if the change is more than a volt even if closer to 1/2 volt it may and likely does tell you the battery isnt grounding to the block or frame that well. special note, examine the battery cables very closely for the cable bulging behind the clamps, common top post battery issue and is a system killer! the sound getting louder when A/C is on is common but may indicate the belt is not tight enough and that the automatic tensioner is possible weak. change the belt 1st and see that the sound is gone if not exect a pully issue likely the tensioner.

There is no OBD II code for Bad Oxygen Sensor, Replace. The codes only tell you the symptom. They do not tell you what to replace. There are codes that indicate an Oxygen sensor is not functioning properly, but that does not mean the sensor is bad. The problem can be (and usually is) caused by something else. Since you replaced the O2 sensor and the problem returned then we can be fairly sure the O2 sensor was not the real problem. You need to go to a real shop with real diagnostic equipment and expertise to have a real diagnostic done to find and fix the problem.
