- Q: The engine need service soon light was on in my vehicle last week. I suspected it was the bad fuel I put in since it turned on immediately after I pumped at Costco. I was busy and did not have a chance to go to my auto shop. Yesterday, I found the warning light was gone. It contradicts my general understanding that once the light is on, you need a device to turn it off. Will it be something like if you wait long enough, the bad thing will go away by itself?
- It sounds like you may very well have had gotten bad gas. Water in gas will reek havoc on an engine and it's sensors. You probably have a car made after 1996, in which it has a OBD2 computer system. You computer will run tests everytime to turn the key on, and if a test fails it will turn the light on. This is what Technicians call a soft code. If the test passes the 2nd or 3rd time run the computer will clear it itself. If the test fails three times in a row, then the code is stored into hard memory in which is called hard code and must be cleared manually. If you light continues to come on, I would have it checked for a possible contaminated oxygen sensor or a clogged fuel injector!
- Q: My AC does not work and i am thinking that it might be related to that but i am not sure. I hae recently added a PA system however it seems to working fine and that fuse is not blowing at all. When i replace the fuse it works for a short time before blowing once more! Please Help
- Of course, it is obvious that you either have a short somewhere on the equipment to which the fuses concerned are blowing, or you might be using lower rated fuses than what is recomended by the manufacturer. However, keep something in mind for future reference. Do not keep changing the blown fuses, or you might end up destroying the part that the fuse is protecting! Just change the fuse once, if it blows, do not bother to attempt putting another fuse, until the problem is fixed. Also, always make sure that you replace all fuses with the exact same rated fuse as the manufacturer recommended for that bank. Do not use lower or higher rated fuses, and never connect the fuse terminals with aftermarket wires or conductors.
- Q: First it said o2 front sensor and shift sensor problem fixed o2 light went out. After driving for 20 minutes engine light on again this time it said shift sensor and ets off. the car still runs and drives ok except for it will hesitate when taking off al most like it is not getting gas if you pump the pedal it will be fine. had the engine light reset. now the o2 rear is not working right got part but haven‘t fixed it yet. Now I can put the car in first and it moves second and it ok 3rd it‘s ok this is an auto transmission the car drive fine till the ets off and engine light come on again then it will hesitate taking off can some one help I hope this makes sense
- I'm guessing ets is electronic traction/stability? If this is the case its probably a wheel speed sensor problem, and its completely turning the system off. Get the new 02 sensor installed and have the codes read and cleared, if the check engine light comes on again, read the codes and take this info to a trusted mechanic or dealer. BTW: Bravo on car maintenance, most people just let it go.

- Q: I just bought a used 2001 Honda Civic EX coupe today and I noticed when sitting with my car off that the anti theft light on the dash near the cd player was blinking. To my knowledge, the car has no security system (I only have a key, no fob or anything with auto locking and unlocking functions). What does this anti theft light do and what does it mean if it‘s blinking? Sorry only owned a 81 F150 before this so this is kind of new to me.

- Q: How do I correct this? I did get gas 3days ago and the other I day I had the hood pop‘d when it was raining but i needed to to add ani-freeze (spelt wrong) b/c it was low but we go that fixed now.
- Sounds exactly like my camaro, it ended up being a blown head gasket, not fun. That would explain the antifreeze missing. The misfire could be because of that but hopefully not. It could be a bad fuel injector. Tkae it to a shop and ask them to run a diagnostic, they'll be able to diagnose it and clear the memory, then you'll be back to running new. But one question for you, has your car been overheating? If it has you could have a blown head gasket, What car you have?

- this is a warning light to tell you the air bag system is inoperative! VERY IMPORTANT !! please have this checked asap. this will not effect normal driving conditions, BUT in the event of a severe collision , the air bags will not deploy. air bags save lives. please get it checked out. i hope this helps you,best of luck always...
