Q:so heres the deal. i got in my car, started it and took off. no warming or anything, and when i tried to back down my driveway my traction light came on. there‘s no ice, so what gives. the car does need brakes and i am replacing them but why the stupid light now. when the car warmed up the brakes acted completly normal. i don‘t get it and the car repair shop wants to charge me close to a hundred bucks just to stick the sensor on it. any suggestions?: First of all it is NOT the fuse. If it was, the light would not come on at all. The way the traction control system works is by utilizing the ABS sensors. When it senses that any of the tires are spinning faster than the others it automatically applies the brakes to that wheel in order to slow it down. That being said I would start by checking the ABS sensors. Is your ABS light on? If not, are all your tires filled to the same pressure? Low air pressure will decrease the size of the tire causing that tire to rotate faster. The fact that it needs brakes could also be the cause. If one of the brakes is grabbing more than another it will fool the system into thinking that wheel is slipping on the pavement. As for taking it to the chop to have them put the scanner on it, don't do it. Take it to Auto Zone, and ask them to do it. They will do it for free. They do this in hopes that you will but parts to fix it there. Get the brakes fixed first before you address the traction control light.

Q:The auto locks and trunk release buttons are not working on my 99 volvo s80 t6 after the battery died and it said in the digital display security system activated? Also I cant figure out how to get the back seats to fold down to get into the trunk because I was going to try to disconnect the battery to see if that would reset everything and make the locks and trunk work again?: I had a golf buddie that did that one time and some way he ran something from that switch(trunk release button) to the trunk (on the outside) and popped it open. He was a einstein type. His trunk button didn't work either. I don't know for sure how he did it. He may have had the battery involved also??

Q:I have a 96 Ford Explorter and the 4WD light sstart flashing at around 30 MPH. this is on going and no one can give me an answer. They actually shut off totally but it seems I still am in 4WD.: i own a shop,and its a selector switch that's causing this to happen,you have to order the switch from a dealer right now it cant be bought after market yet,but that's why its doing this,,i have done a lot of these and the last switch i bought cost me around 60 bucks,and took less than 5 minutes to install,,ford knows about this problem,,but they wont recall them over it,but the will sell you switch to repair it with,,but do this before you go out and buy a switch,have a local mechanic look at it,and make sure its only the switch,and nothing else,good luck with it ,i hope this help,s.

Q:i have a system and everyone has told me i need to upgrade to better alternator because my lights dim when the bass hits. can anyone tell me where i can find a performance alternator for a descent price. checked auto zone and advanced already thanks: eBay baby I got mine there for about the same price that a local shop would charge me for a new one. The only difference is that the shop would keep my original. On eBay I got to keep mine as a back up. If you do get a high output alt. you'd be glad you did but you gotta make sure you upgrade the big 3 well good luck!

Q:My Lexus car has just got back from auto shop for fixing its rear door, and when I got home, I noticed that the VSC and VSC off light was turned on. Any suggestion? I just don‘t want to spend a lot of money again (after fixing this door). P/S: I have read the manual and it said this problem relates to the skid and brake system: Is there a button to turn the VSC on and off? Q:I have a problem with a 1985 Chevy G30 van with the hydroboost system.The brakes are locking up from time to time and also are grabby at times. I know that the front brakes are locking up but I am not sure yet about the rears. If I let it set for a while the pressure bleeds of and they may be OK for a week or more. I have bled the front brakes to remove any dirt. Opening the bleeders does not to seem to instantly release the brakes either. The brake pedal does not seem to be sticking and the actuating rod length has never been changed.I have been told the master cylinder will not cause this. What about the hydro booster or proportioning valve? The brake system warning light DOES NOT come on when this happens.I am desperate here as this is the truck I use to make my living as a contractor.If anyone has experienced this please contact me.: Its prolly low on fluid.

Q:just replaced the mass air sensor and i cant get the check engine light off. any suggestions?: cold air intakes are the same type of junk that the mini super chargers were/fakes and junk will do nothing for your car because the car has an electric computer controlling the engine/that limits timing/fuel injection/trans shifts and all types of power out put//i have seen claims of 50 to 100 hp for this bunch of sewer pipes and never any real proof/the only real thing is a guy with a super laptop and a computer program and go for it/if they gave 100 hp they would be on every car on the planet/cost me a lot of money to get about 35 hp/and i never had one/they come on supercharged cars for obvious reasons
