(this light is a safety feature, usually it is a bad sensor in one wheel, since you cannot have three wheels abs, and one not, the whole system goes off.) what this means, is you have regular brakes, just like all other cars ok? your brakes should be fine, obviously if your brake pedal goes soft or something go to the shop asap Some auto shops have the right equipment to test your system, basically you need a shop that can plug its computer, into your cars computer, and test the abs computer, which actually anylizes itself, tells the diagnostic computer where and what the problem is, then you fix it, and go on down the road. Its best to try to find out what the problem is, and make sure it is not due to a maintenance issue such as brake pads or something.I never had to fix anything on my abs so I have no clue what it costs to do a diagnostic, best of luck, maybe some one else has?.

It just means the computer has some error codes on it. You need to get those codes extracted, then you'll know what the computer is complaining about. That's probably what you're taking it to Autozone for. There's probably a very simple procedure you can use to extract these codes yourself, without using any special equipment. The Haynes manual for your car would have it.

Q: 2003 Ford Expedition 5.4L The overdrive light begins to flash only at low rpms (less then 1000) or at a stop. Once the rpms go above 1000 or so the light turns off. Its also not consistent. Sometimes its after it warms up, other times it turns on almost immediately. The transmission doesn‘t slip, it doesn‘t jerk or clunk. But now we no longer know exactly which sensor to change. I know its in the pan, because they suggested changing the filter at the same time, since they had to remove the pan anyways. I‘ve looked for any and all sensors, but none that i have seen seem to fit the description of a fluid sensor. Which sensor is the likely culprit? Any help would be appreciated.: well when the light comes on it leaves a code the code would help to determine what it is. no fluid sensor. there are two different transmissions used it. depending on which 5.4 used a 16 valve or 24 valve design. get back to us with that code its in the system since the light doesn't always come on. auto zone does the scan for nothing
