Q: im looking to put a switch into the power cable for my amp so that it i can turn it on and off. what is the best way to do this? cheers
You can put a main power cut off to your amp. all you have to do is go to a truck stop and get a big power cut off switch and put it somewhere along the power cable. or you can just put a toogle o the blue wire.
Q: I have a Dell Latitude D505. I do not need comments on whether I have a good laptop or not. That's not the point.I heard a tiny pop sound, and after that, my laptop is not recognizing the power cable. I don't think it's the cable. I've tried restarting the computer. Any suggestions?
the brick adapter is usually the prime target for shortages to laptop computers, they are replaceable and you might consider a surge protector
Q: I am building my first computer and i was going to order a 750GB HDD to back up a 60GB SSD but it is a bare drive. Are there any cables/cords/connectors that i need to buy or should they all come with the motherboard?
Most motherboards come with1 or 2 SATA cables. Keep in mind that this may not always be true.
Q: my friend and i were installing a subwoofer in his car and the rem cable touched the amp and caused a short. the cd player does not turn on any more and we could not find any problem anywhere the only fuse blown was the fuse on the power wire for the amp and that should not have any effect on the cars cd player what could be wrong? (the fuse on the back of the cd player was not blown this leads me to believe there is nothing wrong with the cd player and it is not fried)
did you check the car's fusebox? does the radio have a reset button somewhere ? does the head unit have a wire harness that plugs into the back of the unit itself? if it does maybe the harness melted and there is still a short in the wire or the wire melted somewhere between the head unit and your amp and is still shorted. you could simply unhook the remote wire from immediately behind the stereo and see if that helps edit *** also, i'm not sure if this is still true but most D.C. powered electronics like your cd player have a diode inside on the power wire. A diode will only let electricity run one way. What it does is basically if you where to say hook up you're stereo's power wire backward it would only burn up the diode (in theory). This may be what happened and would be pretty cheap to fix.
Q: I'm gonna build a pc, the graphics card is an XFX Radeon 6970 and the power supply is a cooler master 750w. Im new to this and I dont want to buy a cable online and have it be the wrong one
If you are asking this, don't build a pc, keep learning on google and youtube. You dont need a special cable, it comes with the power supple, and the cables are for extra power for the graphics chip (pci express slot cannot supply enough power so it needs those cables to supplement it)
Q: I want to buy an Xbox 360 from the US (I really don't care about that stupid PAL/NTSC thing seeing as I can just buy all the games from OKorder) and I was wondering how and where I would get a proper Microsoft-made power cable for Australia. Do they sell them through their website? If not, are there any other places that sell the cables online or in Adelaide?I've heard they can be bought on OKorder, but I'm nervous about buying a cable from OKorder because I want to make sure that it is DEFINITELY a Microsoft cable and not a third-party one, and while OKorder is usually pretty good I don't want to take chances with something like this.
try Best Buy or GameStop or maybe EB Games
Q: Whenever I unplug the power cable, the laptop starts to lag, bad, and yes I do have a fully charged battery. This has been happening ever since I got the thing, and no it has nothing to do with the battery, and no matter how many times I re-plug the cable and take it out again, or just leave it in, it continues to lag. The only time it stops is when I reboot, at least until I unplug it again. Also, it has nothing to do with the performance battery plan. Any ideas? This is really annoying.
Do you mean lag as in a slow OS. Well- Where is your SPEEDSTEP set at in your BIOS? You may have 3 or 2 settings which ARE affected when your Cable Power is removed it will go to a Bit Slower Processor Speed to prolong the battery. If after you change the settings in BIOS and it does this again, its likely need to be sent back for repair under Warranty as this is NOT Normal...
Q: I don't know what the cable is specifically called, so I am having no luck finding it. I just keep finding adapters. Am I able to buy a replacement?
The only power cable that comes with video cards are molex to 6(+2)PCIe power adapters. But if your PSU is capable of handling the 6750 it should already have the power cables you need.
Q: Just curious i also want to have my ps3 in good condition so i was wondering how durable is the power and av cables
they would last for years if you dont pull them or stomp on them... they are that good!
Q: So I'm currently living in a dorm room, and my tv is hooked up to the campus cable system. A couple of minutes ago, the power went off and turned back on right away, and I was watching tv during this. Now the power is working but the cable is not, all the channels are nothing but static.I've tried resetting my tv, but I'm wondering what else I could do. Other tvs hooked up to cable in my dorm aren't working either, so is there something wrong with the entire cable system?
Yes, there has to be a problem in the cable system.
