- Q: how do i install the power cord on the 8600 gts. Is just attaching one of the two receivers on the cord to the graphics card and the other end plug in one to a power thing the right way.
- Some specialized power supplies have the power cable built-in and you can plug that directly into the card. - You will need to look up the motherboard manufacturer to find the pinout for the cabling. That would be the fastest way. or you could use a small flat screw driver to short the pins until you find the right combo...the latter could result in damaging your mainboard but not likely. You will need to look at the original case plug if possible. HP/Compaq do not list the pinout nor is it written on the board. all it it listed as is HPanel1.

- i would use 4ga. wire at the battery with a 120 curcuit breaker about 12-18 inches from the batery then 6-8 gauge off the dist.box to the amps

- Yes. You will have to drill your own hole, and add a grommet.. I reccomend a step bit. Do not forget to add a grommet to protect the wire from rubbing against the firewall.. As I was taught, Look Twice, Drill Once.. Good Luck!!
