Q:I have a 2006 Ford Escape XLT and I was wondering if there is a way to make it where the daytime running lamps aren‘t always on. I thought Daytime Running Lights (DRL) were supposed to turn off if it was sunny outside, but I guess I was wrong.: Unlike GM's there is no easy way (pressing of switches in a certain order) to turn off the DRL. For Ford's you are stuck with this feature, unless you want to start tampering with the LCM (lighting control module) very expensive to replace if you FUBAR it. Here's my pet peeve about DRL's-I understand they are a safety feature, but in city driving the benefits are lowered vs. country/highway driving, so there is really no use for it in that situation. Also, constant on/off of the lights (such as turning on and off the car) and high hour use of the lights means more frequent bulb replacements and a drain on the electrical system (impacting your battery and alternator). The later isn't much of an issue unless you run alot of aftermarket equipment that draws a lot of power. Also, if everyone has DRLs it's almost a pointless thing. Kinda like if everyone had HID lights. Since it just becomes an annoyance for other drivers. These are just some of the things that auto makers neglect to think of when they push these safety features on the public.

Q:My husband got an 01 s10 4.3 automatic. The check engine light is on and we took it to auto zone, and they said it‘s the secondary air injection system fault. Does anyone know what this could be? Q:My battery light on my car was on the other day and than my car would not start. We took in to a auto store to be read and charged. They couldn't not charge it. So we replaced it with a new battery. But my battery light is still on and will not go off.: Take it back to auto shop and have them read the charging system and see if the alternator is putting charge into the battery.If not replace alternator they sometimes won't put enough charge into system also check the belt make sure its tight. hope this helps

Q:I get this error when switching on my camera. It was working fine during the day and taking pictures normally but in the evening I got this error message and the camera can‘t focus. The lens barrel does come out of the body as usual. The camera had been kept in a bag all day and hasn‘t caused any problems before. I‘ve tried the usual switching off and on, shaking it a bit and blowing in the gaps to dislodge any dust or grit. You also said in the evening. Do you realize a camera needs a certain amount of light so it can auto focus? Turn on more light, or use a flash light. Point the camera at something with good contrast and a defined line - that helps it get a grip on the focus, so to speak. If it is possible with your camera, change to manual focus, then you won't need to worry about any of this.
