Q:I have a 99 chevy tahoe i was able to get my inspection sticker last year. this year my check engine light came on and took it to auto zone to put it on the computer. It gives me an OEM Number to cross P1404-0440 which means that my EVAP is troubleshooting. I have replace my gas cap, There is no leaks,I know for sure is not my solenoid. but, can it be my EVAP canister its there a website that i can visit, where it can show me how to check it or how i should be looking for .
A code P1404 is an EGR system code. It might help to know exactly what code is setting. A code P0440 is a general evap system trouble code. It could mean any of a number of things that are happening with the evap system.
Q:When the computer is in a brighter environment, it will not allow me to turn on the keyboard light, however its rather extreme and most of the time it will not even work unless the room is totally dark. Is there some way to force it to come on even if it is moderately bright in the room?
sorry, I don't believe there is a quick fix. update the driver
Q:What does the car bulb H mean?
According to the bulb form a total of eight: with the lens of the high beam, with the lens of the low beam (the above two lights are generally used in the original xenon lamp system such as pst, audi, etc.) h1 (high light bulb), h3 and H11 (fog light), h4 (far and near light bulb), h7 (low light bulb), 9005 and 9006 (Japanese car-based)
Q:I have a 2006 Ford Taurus SEL, and in my opinion, the lights are relatively weak. My high beams are fine by my standards just seem weak to me and that I need more power. The lenses aren‘t yellowed or anything, they are relatively clean and seem perfectly fine. I‘ve considered buying new bulbs such as the Sylvannia SilverStars but over the course of a little research, it seems to be hit or miss. I don‘t want to waste $40. Ive been thinking that it could be a power issue as well. Sometimes when I turn my music a little louder and I‘m running my lights, my lights will dim when I hit my brakes or when my speakers draw more power. Everything in my car is still factory based, nothing aftermarket. So if anyone has any tips on how to improve my lights, please let me know. It will all be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
The lights are probably just fine. The Silverstars supposedly give you brighter lights and go farther both in front and on the sides. The lights will naturally dim a little when you put a draw on the electrical system like from the brake lights or especially the stereo when it's loud. If you are worried about it then get your alternator tested at a garage or a major auto parts store. Everything you described is normal though.
Q:car has a miss very noticeable in stop and go traffic changed fuel rail sensor and still the same
I wouldn't mess with it.you can very easily break your blade rendering it useless into you get it replaced. If you must, heat it up using a blow torch and slowly bend it. You should have checked out the curve before buying it.
Q:Funny enough the van runs great, I had brought it from my 76 year old Dad in great condition, it only had 92thousand plus miles on it and it‘s a 1997. I‘ve had it for 2 weeks when the check engine light came on and the speedometer and odometer stopped working. What could be the problem?
Could possibly be the electronic control module. Take it to a dealer or shop. They should be able to hook it up to a computer that will help them diagnose what is wrong.
Q:'94 Camaro, V6 auto, 125k. All electrical systems (interior lights, headlamps, pressure gauges, etc.) flicker off and on constantly. Been this way for months and it is really getting on my nerves. Had a shadetree mechanic try to attach a code reader and he couldn't get a reading. Please, no wild guesses.
new head light switch - it has a heat switch in the switch - it gets hot lights go out - cool down lights on - sometimes you hear them click on and off - fords make lots of sound - this happen to me in mountains - bright lights will most like kill our switch
Q:Recently my tail lights have quit working. My brake lights still work.Recently my car was acting kinda weird. When I would use my turn signal for the first time, it would auto lock the doors. That stopped after about 4 days. then, when I turn on my lights, the fasten seatbelt light flashes and buzzes at me. Last weekend that stopped after about 4 days.I have checked the fuse box, the fuses under the hood, and the wires connecting to the tail light unit.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Just wait 4 more days!! just kidding, it sounds like you have a bad wiring problem. You should probably have a shop or good friend help you find the short. I'm not sure about your model, but the 94's have the wiring harness running right under the drivers feet and then back to the rear of the car(under the carpet). I would start there, look for burnt or brittle wires and replace them as needed. Good luckwiring problem are the hardest to fix :(
Q:Why is this? What i have done so far:-Replaced gasket(i think thats what its called),spark plugs and wires-changed transmission fluid , done oil change.Im am considering doing a fuel system cleaning and the guy at Jiffy lube said something about my coolant/radiator.My heat/ac works great, havent had any problems. If I do the fuel cleaning and change the coolant, will this get rid of the service engine light. The car works great otherwise.
If you have an Auto Zone near you, take your car there. They will hook your car up to the computer, and tell you why your engine light is on. This service is free.
Q:I have a 1997 saturn and my batteries light is blinking and there dont seem to be anything wroung with it.
what ever it calls for is the best.
