- Q:When I try to start my car, the engine doesn't even rev, the car just makes kind of an electrical noise and the Theft System light comes on. Does anyone know of a way to fix this?
- Does your car has an after market alarm or auto start? Your ignition cyl switch could be worn out. Also is your battery full charged reading 12.9 volts?.
- Q:Antelope car headlamp how to tune
- Boot cover, headlamps around the left and right have two holes, adjust the light level and adjust the light around.
- Q:I have seen some comments about unplugging the battery, but I am not sure how to proceed.
- Have you hit anything with the front bumper, like maybe a snow drift. It is possible that the problem is just a sensor connection. Make sure to remove the fuse for the air bag/SRS system before testing any components. Some auto parts stores can recover the code and tell you what the code stands for, and most will do it for free. I Do Not recommend disconnecting the battery. Yes, it will clear the code, but now you don't know where the problem is. When the battery is disconnected on some vehicles, it will set a check engine light for charging system malfunction. Hope this helps and good luck. Christopher
- Q:This code is coming from my wife‘s 1998 Toyota Camry (3.0L V6).The print-out that I got from Auto Zone says this:Evaporative emission control system vent control circuit faultProbable causes:1. Open or short circuit condition2. Poor electrical connection3. Faulty CCV vent control solenoidIf anyone has had any similar codes from their car, please let me know if it needs to be checked out right away or if it can wait a week or two.I know, the sooner the better.but realistically, we can‘t get it checked out right away.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
- This is not a serious problem and you can safely operate the car with the check engine light lit. The Evaporative emmission control system is designed to prevent the gas in your gas tank from venting fumes into the atmosphere since gasoline evaporates easily. When the system does not work properly, the check engine light must come on according to government polution regulation law. However, your car is just fine. Make sure the gas cap is on tightly (clicks when you turn it tight) and you are good to go.
- Q:Ok heres the problem, I was driving for an hour and a half in the snow and everything seemed fine, except my car has a tendancy to slide to the right a lot. Mind you, my car got into a car accident over a year ago which caused my passenger side to be smashed and I havent yet have the money to get it replaced, BUT Everything seemed to be fine as of yet. Except for a month ago, it seems in the winter everything seems to make everything go wrong. My ABS light came on and it wasnt working very well, and it came off and than came on. My low-coolant light came on too; I checked my antifreeze and I fillled it 3 Times within a month and ahalf time. It semed low; I checked my oil and everything seemed fine too. So What could this possibly be? I know I need to get it checked out; but any ideas on what it could be?
- What type of car is it?
- Q:What is the difference between m4 and m16?
- Very little difference. Folding stock, some fire in 3 round burst, not as accurate at longer range than M-16, Fully gas operated. I think they have changed the bolt. It is still an M16 which has been modified. I never liked the M-16's anyway. They jam too much, as does the M4.
- Q:While driving, my airbag light flashes this sequence: solid light for about 5 secs then 6 flashes. Sometimes the battery lamp will flicker. Also th ABS lamp comes on and stays solid. Anyone have any idea what that code might be? Is my ABS just toast?
- I find your version of events highly unlikely. Customers very frequently hear what they want to hear, not what we tell them. This sounds like a classic case.
- Q:The steady yellow check engine light has been on for over two weeks and I replaced the gas cap and had a mechanic do the smoke test and nothing could be found wrong or no leaks and engine light did not come off, How can I reset the code or check engine light to come off on my car?
- If the check engine light is from the gas cap, the code will reset itself after a few engine start stop cycles. Usually in a couple of days. If the light is still on, the mechanic is either unethical or incompetent and sold you a gas cap that you didn't need. The very next thing that I would replace if I were you would be my mechanic. It could also be just as easily be a leaking O ring in a EVAP system line, it could be a loose fitting, it could be a damaged EVAP system line. It could be that the mechanic sold you the incorrect gas cap. Some of the better OBD 2 diagnostic scan tools have the ability to erase the trouble codes which reset the check engine light. The cheap scan tools used by the auto parts stores usually can not erase codes, just read them. What I would do if I were you. Take the car to a different reputable mechanic. Explain to them what has happened. See if they will erase the trouble code for you. If there is no problem, the light will stay out. If the check engine light comes back on, there is still a problem with the EVAP system. For now, you can safely drive the vehicle with this trouble code. This will not affect the way the engine runs in any way. This is a emissions issue. If there is actually a problem it means that you are venting gasoline vapors from the fuel tank. However, this should eventually be addressed.
- Q:I have a 2002 Honda Civic sedan with 94K miles on it. Yesterday the engine malfunction light came on. I consulted the owner‘s manual and it said to first check the gas fill cap. I did that and re-tightened it, but the light did not go out. Then it added that if that didn‘t fix the problem it was likely something wrong with the emission system. I wanted to know if the engine malfunction light on would have created a code that can be read and if that is the same thing as check engine light on other cars. I called the auto dealer today and they said they charge $100 just to check the code and depending what it is, if they could even fix it or would have the parts, if needed. Someone at work suggested I take it to Advance Auto since they will check the codes for free. Any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
- The check engine light will only be lit while the conditions are present to warrant an error. In other words, conditions went back to acceptable for some reason. If the check engine light came one for an entire tank of gas I'd think about using a different gas station. Bad gas can really screw your engine up. The code will still be stored in the computer and in most cars it can even tell you what the engine was doing when the code appeared. i.e. what speed traveled, what gear, any other contributing factors, etc.
- Q:i bought HID lights for my bfs 1996 honda civic for $100 bucks. The instillation fee is also $100. is it worth it or should i attempt to put them in myself? the auto stoore said i shouldnt have trouble trying to do this but on one of my other questions i asked about how to do this myself, somone posted that it is unsafe or impossible to do this ? i am unsure -_-
- You have an answer that is incorrect. Any light that is US DOT accepted is legal in EVERY state in the US. As for your HID lights, are you sure they are actually HID? Do you have a ballast for the lights? If no, they are not HID. Do the bulbs have filaments? If they do, they are NOT HID lights.
